💭📢 Copyright Protection [19 June 2019]
Contrary to popular belief, I'm not gone. After a few strifes, a change in outlook, and a realization that it won't change any time soon, it's time to bring it all to light.
First and foremost, copyright laws do not protect ideas, they protect books, songs...basically anything except for ideas. Also, patents protect inventions. So if anyone has an idea, literally anyone can claim it as their own unless there's some sort of tangible existence to it.
We take it a step further with pokéfic stories on Wattpad. We can claim it all we want, but, in the end, we can't stop someone else from taking an idea unless we make it into a tangible story. And so, we try our best to churn out things or we squander our ideas we feel will never see the light of day because they're "not good enough" or whatever.
As long as we execute, even a bad idea can be good. Unless it's one of the few widely acknowledged, morally wrong ideas...mass genocide comes to mind as an example.
So here, now, I have an ever updating list of story ideas. Spoilers do indeed exist. I'm going to try to keep it to a minimum for the few and far between that care. But these are here for the simple reason of showing that, hey, I thought of this and I like the idea enough to attempt a story with it. If you have something similar in mind, don't get mad if I pull something out that seems similar. And, of course, I'd have a reason to be mad if someone pulls an idea out that sounds similar to mine.
It's like I'm eternally calling dibs.
Anyway, to the ideas. They are all being brainstormed or are unpublished. I hope this book can reach enough people so that no one accidentally makes something resembling any of these ideas. So, I have no real claim for them except for the respect of others to refrain from stealing them.
The story ideas will be formatted hopefully in a way that's simple and easy on the eyes.
Title: what's it called
Length: how long is this
Theme(s): overarching theme(s) here
Setting: a place here
Notes: some important things or concepts explored are here
I'll give an example of a currently published story like so:
-/-
Title: Hopelessly Devoted to Misery
Length: Full length, approx 30 chapters
Theme(s): how problems & their solutions arent as simple as we think
Setting: modern-day Unova, pre-B2W2 era
Notes: includes usage of translating real world cocktails, some syndromes, and some possibly disturbing content
-/-
And that's how you will see the Frankenstein's monster abominations of maybe a dozen or more incomplete pokéfic ideas that float in my head that I personally want to attempt writing (and hopefully publishing) in some form. All on this account? I mean, I went through a rough patch and I didn't abandon this place to assume a new identity, so you can see how steadfast and devoted I can be.
Or perhaps it's just stubbornness. Who knows?
Anyway without further ado, the pokéfic ideas.
Title: Natural Disaster
Length: full length
Theme(s): probably something like perseverance and trust within your allies. Basic stuff
Setting: modern-day Hoenn, ORAS era
Notes: some inclusions of meteorology will exist, some possible characters include Gabby & Ty, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Castform. Also has a WIP blurb:
Gale Schweigert is a meteorologist "hailing" from Hoenn's Weather Institute. An expert on climate, he's a lead scientist on meteorology and widely respected throughout the region.
One day, he is called to Unova to investigate strange natural phenomenons of thunder, earthquakes, and lightning. Gale is tasked to find and possibly quell the source of the odd weather happenings. Will he and his Castform partner, Clyemit, succeed in calming the disasters? Or will he get caught up in turbulence of the perfect storm?
Please ask someone who knows German to pronounce that guy's last name.
Title: Heart Swap
Length: full length
Theme(s): self identity, personality, existentialism
Setting: modern-day Sinnoh, possibly pre-BW era
Notes: Includes Manaphy, Combee, Burmy, Aaron, idol Grace, and possibly Byron or Cynthia. Leaning towards a satirical humorous approach. I actually have a story description in the making that will be placed here:
Luther Mitchell hates his role in the world as the sole Bug Catcher in Canalave City, Sinnoh. Seriously, how does a Bug Catcher end up as one of the forty people in a port city with a Steel-type specialized Pokémon Gym?
With a twist of fate, a run-in with one of the region's mythical Pokémon turns his world as he knows it on its head. The life he had now is in the hands of others—specifically his two bug Pokémon: his Combee Beelzebub and his Burmy Mushu. As he's forced to view his unpredictable circumstances with a new perspective, it's up to Luther whether he adapts to the situation or loses himself amidst the insanity.
Throughout an experience of chaotic connections, Luther learns about what it truly means to be himself.
Title: Flare Blitz
Length: full length
Theme(s): not quite sure yet, does firefighting and courage count as a theme?
Setting: modern-day Kanto
Notes: some inclusions will be fire safety, emergency procedures, and firefighting in general. Arson is possible but this will be a firefighting showcased story, so who knows.
Title: Styler
Length: TBD
Theme(s): TBD
Setting: various regions
Notes: follows an unnamed OC that travels the various regions and...cuts hair. He cuts hair for everyone and anyone. And he learns a little about them along the way. A WIP story blurb also exists:
Secrets are traded in the most innocent of places.
MC is the owner and only employee of the traveling barber shop known as Styler. His motto: cater to all clientele. From all over every region, he rides his partner , a Skarmory, to service any of those who want at-home or rendezvous styling done. From the beard of Team Flare to the supermodel of Nimbasa City, he helps everyone.
With his other two partners, a Gallade and a Furfrou, the people a simple barber encounters can be even more surprising than the distinct haircuts his clients ask for.

Title: Signed, the Great Depression
Length: full length, approx 20 chapters
Theme(s): probably a stupid love story, sprinkled with flavor
Setting: modern-day Mistralton City, Unova, pre-B2W2 era
Notes: planned sequel of aforementioned Hopelessly Devoted to Misery detailing why the heck Tristan is the way he is. OCs include Tristan Babineaux, Jillian Zeruiah, and two others off the top of my head. Also includes Skyla from Mistralton City. Includes an aviation theme, and a story blurb:
Tristan Babineaux wasn't always a misanthropic person. With genius innovations and stellar breakthroughs in aeronautics, he was the frontrunner as the next great aviator to emerge from Unova's Mistralton City.
But a distraction in the hangar strays the focused flier from his future. The culprit? A girl who goes by the name of Jillian Zeruiah.
In the end, it all makes sense why Tristan is the cynic he is now. An aviatrix's trust...foiled by a failed tryst.
When faced with the decision that could turn the tide, the prospective pilot ultimately chooses fight over flight.

Title: Just Desserts
Length: short story, approx 4-5 chapters
Theme(s): competition & cooperation
Setting: TBD
Notes: inclined to make it something similar to an existing work of mine titled Pumped, where the theme of confectionery is explored in a competitive setting. Includes the chef from Kalos Siebold as well as some OCs and some desserts.
Title: TBD
Length: full length
Theme(s): probably something along the lines of a generic good vs evil
Setting: medieval Johto
Notes: something I want to start off with... if anyone knows the transition from Gen 1 to Gen 2, they know a few things were rectified. One of those things were the sheer strength of the Psychic and Dragon types. To combat this, Gen 2 introduced two new types: Steel and Dark! You cant blame them since the series thought it would end at Gen 2 (which is why they joined the two regions together). Steel resists Dragon as well as high defensive stats. Dark is immune to the powerhouse Psychic (save for Miracle Eye, but no one used it anyway).
And where does that lead us? The story is set where the Psychic type is a powerhouse trying to take the throne of the currently absent Champion (Dragon type). Where the story of Pokémon details the representing Dragon type trainer Lance helping out Gold/Silver/Crystal whomever you want to use on the main story, this story delves into the existence of one question:
Where the heck did Dark and Steel come from?
And that's when I realized it. They were made by the developers, so let's reflect that in story. How? Well you've got to say Steel is artificial, since it's from smelting iron. Dark itself is just as mysterious. So we have some unnatural creations of types...in a medieval setting...
That's when it hit me: alchemy.
I plan to represent the Steel type with Jasmine and the Dark type with Karen (both existing in Johto). Psychic will be Will (no pun intended). Will is vying for the Champion spot as Lance is away, possibly catering to GSC or even his cousin Claire in Blackthorn City. If we take Jasmine, some of her flavor includes that she used to have an Onix, which is now a Steelix. Boom! Explained: alchemy created the Steel type. We can assume Karen used to have an Eevee. The only types that could fight against Psychic were Bug and Ghost at the time. I figure if she was possibly trying to create a Ghost type Eeveelution and wound up with Umbreon instead. Boom! Explained: alchemy, possibly even just dark arts, created the Dark type.
Plot is TBD. Scenario and premise is there. I just need to brainstorm a bit more. But the concept is nice I like to think.
Title: Castelia Street
Length: N/A
Theme(s): a rural setting mixed with Pokémon
Setting: Castelia Street, modern day Unova
Notes: some shoutouts to CrystalMaige and NaivEevee for helling develop bits of this. In all basics, this is a string of one-shots and possibly short stories that detail municipal professions and how I imagine they are represented in a Pokémon setting. Above, Just Desserts is a good example of that. I'm not entirely sure what will or won't be in the book, but I have a handful of ideas that include a pharmacy, krabby fishing, dry cleaners or laundromats, and a post office. Looking forward to that as a possible ongoing thing.
Title: Off the Map
Length: N/A
Theme(s): dangers and perils of survival, cartography
Setting: various
Notes: this is a weird idea as I figure to make it something like a journal, where chapters are styled with dates and areas. The premise is that Town Maps don't exist and someone has to travel the region marking everything and drawing various locations and describing them while not dying from the underdevelopment along the way. Havent thought too much about it, but I figure some in-story sketches are necessary.
If anyone is good here at landscape sketching, just shoot me a PM sometime.
Title: Tug of War
Length: full length
Theme(s): militaristic domination and strategy
Setting: medieval Johto
Notes: I do use medieval Johto a lot. I probably might make references to each other as they exist within a similar time period (that being At All Costs, the alchemy story, and this one). Who doesnt love a tactical twist on domination where we get to see an impending war of lords and foes, fighting for whatever may lie ahead? I have no idea how this will turn about as it's in the research phase. I just hope something doesnt already exist like this and I have to scrap this idea.
Title: TBD
Length: TBD
Theme(s): TBD
Setting: Nimbasa City, modern day Unova
Notes: probably the most underdeveloped idea I have, it will also something regarding the trains of Nimbasa and possibly the Magnet Train of Johto. Idk man I like trains and I seriously wonder how Battle Subway and the Magnet Train could fit into a story somehow.
Title: Dead Wrong
Length: short story, approx 4-5 chapters
Theme(s): hope I guess
Setting: various, includes the Spirit World
Notes: this is my PWL 2019 short story entry if the have the contest this year. I hope they do. If not, well maybe next time. I'm not going to delve too much into it, but it involves a certain Pokémon and yeah psychopomps
Trust me, that's the last one...for now
-/-
Honestly, I doubt the initial crowd will see this. So feel free to bring anyone's sorry ass over here if you think they could contribute to this in any progressive fashion. As in not people who are haters! Boo!
To finish, if anyone else has something similar to this idea and intends to write it, fight me, behind the second building at 2000 hrs. If you just saw this and want to add your thoughts you may have brainstormed into the idea and figure it'sesdier to just let me.have it and move on to another idea, comment. I gladly accept donations.
If you have any concerns or comments in general, by all means just comment away. Unless the comments are hateful or otherwise insulting I guess. Please refrain from that stuff.
Catch you on the flip side of failure
(The flip side of failure is success!)
