"Mels..." Benedict called and he draped his arm over her shoulder.
Dear Melody clung onto it and pulled it closer to her cheek.
"I... I remember..." Benedict simpered, slowly stroking her cheek. "... Love repellant... I guess... it still stands."
"No, no Mels. It's doesn't." He kissed the top of her forehead and he meant what he said, just as it was all those years ago. "I'm still right here you know."
Melody snuggled up to Benedict's hand.
"I know you are..." Melody sniffed, turning to face Benedict. "L-look I'm sorry." She bowed her head, Benedict placing his hand back onto her cheek.
"Why are you sorry dear Mels?"
"I think you've realised..." Benedict frowned. Deep down they both did realised, in fact. "I have been avoiding you for... well ever since I had Amelia..." He did realise that.
"Mels..." Melody sighed.
"Yeh, I know. Shoot me. I... I've been ignoring my friend..." Benedict dropped his eyes and kissed the palm of Melody's hand.
"I don't care." Both of them looked at each other. "I want to think about here. About the now. Not the past... I'm here. You're here." He simpered. "That is all that matters..."
Melody smiled too, but suddenly, Amelia's cries filled the house.
Melody growled, sliding her hands down her face.
"She's up properly this time..." Melody peered behind her, hoping that Amelia would stop.
"W-why don't I..." Melody frowned.
"What...?"
"Can I... hold her?" Melody scoffed.
"You don't even have to ask that question." Benedict smiled, gulping and he got up from the bed. Crawling over Melody, he got up and straightened himself. "Go on." Melody watched carefully. "She won't bite. She isn't like Mom." Benedict and Melody chuckled.
"Here goes..." Benedict muttered under his breath and reached his hands into the cot, wrapping his hands around baby Amelia.
Pulling her into him, he rested her hand onto his arms and slowly sat down, Amelia quietened in seconds.
"Ben..." Melody placed her hand onto Benedict's shoulder. "You are a proper Father." Benedict lifted an eyebrow.
"Am I?"
"Well, the proof lays into front on you."
"It definitely lays in front of me all right..." Melody smirked, getting up.
"I better get some milk ready... Be a moment." Before leaving, Melody wiped her remaining tears from her face.
Then she made her way into the kitchen as she left Benedict with her child.
She knew she could because she trusted him.
He was an old friend.
It definitely wasn't a case of keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
It was more like...
Keep your enemies in your fist and your friends closer.
Melody placed the bottle in some boiled water and bowed her head, waiting.
That was until she felt Benedict's hand touch her back.
"You all right?" Melody nodded.
"I-is Amy hungry?" Benedict slowly nodded, making his way beside Melody.
"I think the part where she nearly sucked my finger off is enough." Melody chuckled. "I think you underestimate the power of Amelia's nashers." Benedict and Melody simpered at each other. "You... sure you're okay?" Melody smiled, her eyes half closed.
"Yep... I'm fine." She leaned her hands onto the counter.
Then Benedict had did something unexpected.
He pressed his lips against hers and lifted them off, Melody just staring.
Their second kiss.
Their first kiss was twelve years ago, but we'll come to that later.
"Ben..."
"I-I'm sorry, I knew I shouldn't have-" And he was cut off my Melody's lips crashing onto hers.
And let the ignition begin.
Let their bud flourish and grow.
Melody wrapped her arms around Benedict's neck as Benedict touched her cheeks.
She ran her fingers into Benedict's hair and Benedict's hands made their way down to her thighs, in which she responded by wrapped them around his waist.
His tiny waist. And her tiny legs.
Benedict allowed Melody to sit on the counter as they passionately kissed, both of them moaning in pleasure.
For once, Melody knew that she wasn't only being used for her body.
This time, she knew it was real love.
Benedict buried head in Melody's neck and she gasped as his lips made his way into her bare skin which sent shivers down her spine.
But we all know there is a point where it gets too far.
Without realising Melody slides her hand across the counter, her hand pushing the saucepan off the stove until Benedict caught it, the temperature having little effect.
He turned off the stove and placed the saucepan on the counter.
Moving his lips towards Melody's ear, he whispered - purred.
"Jump." Melody giggled and Benedict chuckled, their lips coming into contact once again.
And there it was. The ending everyone wanted.
But hold it right there.
It isn't over if you don't want it to be.
I mean these words.
Hold on.
