Chapter Twenty Four

I pulled the chains on my wrists more. I can't stay here, if I do James will kill everyone. But, he's still MY brother. Maybe I can change his mind.

That's when I felt a burning sensation on my chest. I fell to my knees in pain as I clutched part of my shirt.
What's going on?!
The pain slowly transitioned to the rest of my body. I lay on the floor in pain. It felt like I was covered with fire. Could this be the transition from my human life to the demon one?

"A young and terrified child. Are you really one if us?"

My eyes shot open, the pain finally disappearing. I looked around only to find darkness. What happened?
That's when I felt boney hands grab my face.

"So alone, so terrified. I could sense your fear all the way from hell."

"W-what are you?" I asked.

"I am you. Well, the demon you to be specific."

"No, h-how could you be me?"

"I am what you are to become. Your true form. Your destiny lies with me."

That's when I shoved the creature off me. This thing couldn't be me. It never has and never will.

"You are not me! I will never become one of you! A being that doesn't care for anyone else! I will never be you!"

I could feel the anger radiating off this creature. I probably pissed it off.

"You could never get rid of me! I am part of you!"

"Heh......then I guess I have to keep you locked away. My soul is the one thing you will not obtain. I won't let you have it."

"I will find a way out..... It might not be today but it will happen someday."

"And I'll be here to put you back in your cage."

".....you are a wise one. But you are needed elsewhere. Until we meet again.......Abby...."

I opened my eyes once again. I was back in the dark cell like room. But this time my chains were broken. I stood up while looking at the pentagram on my wrist.

"I know you'll come back, but I won't let you win...I won't let you make a monster out of me...."

I lowered my wrist and ran to the door. I pried it open and stepped out. Now, all I need to do is reunite with my friends and take James down. Once and for all.

"Diane! You need to rest! You can't go any further like this!"

"Lizzy.... I can do it...you need to help the captain."

"No! I won't leave you like this! Friends don't leave each other behind!"

Diane stopped for a moment and looked down at me. She smiled softly before continuing to walk. I looked down the street and found a boy all by himself. I ran to him and kneeled down.

"H-hey, you can't be here. I need to bring you somewhere that's safe."

The little boy looked up at me only to nod. I grabbed his body as Diane trudged forward slowly.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"...it's uh, Zeal."

"It's nice to meet you Zeal. My name is Lizzy."

*Crack Rumble Rumble*

I looked up at the loud noises and saw the building next to us about to fall over. It's going to crush us!
I covered Zeals body with my own expecting my body to get crushed but it never happened. I felt the ground around us shake a lot and Diane's cry of pain. I immediately looked up and saw Diane hovering over us.
Blood dripped from her forehead as she stared down at us.

"A-are you two alright?" She asked.

"Yes, we are. But Diane, you're already as hurt as can be! Why...why did you protect us?"

"It's what friends would do. Right?"

I stared up at her in shock. I slowly nodded as I set Zeal down.

"Zeal!!!!"

"How could you do that!? That boy could've gotten killed!!"

I heard two voices yelling. Probably at other people.
I walked out from under Diane to see six holy knights.

"It's one of the Black Sins of Britannia. The wolf sin of gossip."

My fists clenched as I summoned my over sized bronze hammer. I walked up to the two holy knights that were protecting Diane and glared at the other four.

"You're the one that caused this?"

"Who else would. Oh I know, that giant over there." The green haired dude said.

"Diane would never do this! Did you not just see her protect Zeal and I?!"

"Who cares, both of you are just deadly sins. Do you really think anyone would believe that two sins protected a little boy?" Red armor dude asked.

"I believe it." I looked to my right and finally recognized the holy knight. It was Guila.

"I believe it too."

I looked to my left to see the holy knight Howzer there.
I smiled at them but then quickly put my attention back on the other holy nights. Jericho, Gil thunder, Helbram, and the grandmaster.

"You are going to pay for doing this to Diane and almost killing and innocent!" I yelled.

At that moment Howzer used his magic to make a sand tornado. It lifted the holy knights off the ground and into the air.

"You two! Put all of your magic in your next attack! We'll do this together!" He yelled.

I nodded and raised my hammer and shot a beam of light at the tornado. Colors of red, blue, green, and yellow hit the tornado making a colorful spiral.

"Elements combine!!" I yelled.

It was one of my strongest and I'm hoping it was enough to get rid of them. I was so focused on attacking these knights that I didn't even notice Guila also use her powers.

Finally, we all stopped and the tornado dispersed. Jericho came down like a rock hitting the ground with a thud. But the other knights didn't come crashing down. That's when I heard a metal clanking sound from behind me.
I quickly turned around only to see Gil thunder and Howzer head to head.

"Well, I never expected such a weak attack out of all three of you."

I turned around again to see Helbram and the Grandmaster standing there. Helbram looked beat up but the Grandmaster didn't have a scratch on him.

"H-how?" Guila said.

"This isn't good." I mumble.

The Grandmaster then raised his sword and slashed it down. It sent what looked like a bolt of lighting at both of us. I stood there paralyzed in fear. I can't do anything!

At that moment, I felt someone tug at the back f my shirt and I was lifted into the air.

"Is that?!"

"It couldn't be!"

I looked up at my savoir and saw pink hair and golden eyes

"Margrid! Father! Where are you!"

"Elizabeth that's probably not the best idea to call out to them." I said.

"Yeah, you might attract some guards." Hawk added.

"Elizabeth?...."

I turned my head to look at one of the rust doors.

"Margrid?" Elizabeth asked.

We crowed around the door as Elizabeth looked through the little slot to see her sister. I stood there awkwardly as they talked.

"Who is this?" Margrid asked.

I was pulled out of my trance looking at margrid surprised.

"Oh, this is Julianne. She and her friends, along with the Seven Deadly Sins have been helping me. And protecting me."

"Then, I give you my thanks. I was so worried about her."

"It was not a problem. I will always protect my friends." I replied.

She nodded at me smiling. I smiled back enjoying the conversation until I heard a metallic voice behind us.

"Oh, this just won't do. I can't allow you to roam around."

I turned around and found the woman with the creepy helmet behind us. Can't she just stay away from us. For like, forever.

"Hm, I guess I now have to take you some place safer. Both of you."

I glared at the woman ready to summon my sword until Hawk used his head to launch the woman to the wall.

"It's been long enough. You have been ignoring me ever since we got here. Get ready to taste my fury!" Hawk yelled.

"A-A talking pig?! Be gone!"

A bright light surrounded Hawk and suddenly burst. The blast sent me and Elizabeth back. I ended up hitting my head really hard and I slumped down in a sitting position. I looked at Elizabeth but she was unconscious. I was also about to fall unconscious.

"Elizabeth... Wake... Up...."

My eyelids slowly started to droop as darkness covered my vision. Why was I always the one to get knocked out. Like seriously!
