Chapter Eighteen

"Here Diane, you can wear my uniform."

"But Julie, what are you going to wear?"

"I'll just wear my armor."

My clothes slowly transformed from the tavern uniform to my armor.

My uniform plopped down onto my hands and I handed it to Diane. She took it and closed the door to her room. I sighed as I walked down the stairs and into the tavern.

"Is Diane okay?!" Elizabeth asked.

"Yeah, she's fine. I gave her my uniform to wear."

"Oh, I'm glad."

I nodded and sat down at a table with my friends.

"So, what do we do now?" Lizzy asked.

"I think we should go to town and tell Meliodas what happened." Abby said.

"Yeah, as much as I hate the pervert he should still know." Al added.

"But Elizabeth can't go out exposed. Someone might recognize her." I stated.

"You're right. One of us should stay." Ivette continued.

"I'll stay, I promise I'll keep Elizabeth safe." Lizzy volunteered.

We all took some glances at each other before nodding. Diane then walked down into the tavern with my uniform on. She smiled at us before sitting down. We told her the plan and she agreed to go trusting Lizzy to take care of Elizabeth.
After some small goodbyes we left the tavern and headed to the town.

~Time Skip~

"Damn, this place is full of shirtless guys." Al mumbled.

"Watch out!" Abby yelled.

She then tackled Al to the ground preventing either of them from getting crushed by something. When the dirt and dust cleared, we saw a bruised and beaten man twitching on the ground.

"He's probably from the tournament." Ivette stated.

"Yeah, I wonder what the prize is?" Diane said.

"Let's find out!" I exclaimed.

After picking Al and Abby off the ground, we ran to the tournament that was filled with men and women (mostly men) watching people battle.

"This is pretty damn cool, what do you think Dia- Diane?!" Al yelled.

We turned and found Diane missing.

"Wha- she was right here just a second ago!" Abby exclaimed.

"Wait, wait, let's back it up for a second. We're in an anime, she's probably doing something that happens in the show." I said.

"Even when we messed up the whole fucking plot." Al asked.

"Yeah, she's probably battling as Matrona or something."

"Now that you mention it, I do remember the episode when Diane was fighting in a tournament like this. We're probably in that episode then." Abby added.

"Exactly, so calm down. She's probably fighting her way to the top."

"That's my little cousin." Ivette said while ruffling my hair.

"Ivveeetttteee! I'm not five anymore!"

My friends giggled at us and we fought about Ivette treating me like a kid. Some time later a lot of men have been knocked out of the ring and only a few were left. The girls and I were trying to avoid Hawk at all costs so he wouldn't make a scene about us leaving the tavern.
That is, until Meliodas, King, and Ban figured out Matrona was Diane. She seemed pretty happy that Meliodas finally figured out and that made me mad, but why?
I shrugged it off and continued to watch the fight. But slowly my mind wandered to different places. I kept asking myself questions. If only I had an answer to all of them. I looked down at myself, my eyes immediately landed on my sin mark. I don't know why we're here, we shouldn't even be here messing up the story and everyones lives. But it's too late to change things now.

"He would want you to be happy."

"You shouldn't cry."

"I'll keep the promise I made to you."

"I need to protect them!"

"We're friends, I'll never leave you."

"We'll keep you safe, pinkie promise."

The voices of everyone kept repeating themselves in my head. It's like they were trying to tell me something. Something I don't know about or forgot.

"Of course, nothing ever feels right when you're different."

That voice.
That voice specifically kept repeating what it said.

"nothing ever feels right when you're different."

That has to mean something! I know I'm not the same person as I was before, a lot of things do feel different, but there's something else to it. This is a puzzle that will take forever to solve. The pieces are jumbled up everywhere. I need to piece everything together to find out the truth.

"Julie?"

My train of thought stopped. I shook my head and looked up. There stood Ivette staring down at me with concern.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Y-yeah, I was just spacing out."

"Oh, but you better pay attention. Ban and Meliodas are fighting."

"What?!"

I ran past her and pushed my way to the front of the crowd. I stood next to Diane and King.

"What did I miss?!" I asked frantically.

"Nothing, Meliodas and Ban just stepped into the ring. Oh, and I'm sorry, your uniform is kinda ripped."

"It's fine, I like my armor more anyways."

If only she knew I hid the shirt Meliodas gave me under my bed. Ugh, I feel like a creep.

That's when the fight started. Meliodas threw the first blow while Ban threw the second. It was like that until Meliodas was losing energy.

"Ban! I swear if you hurt him anymore I'll kick your ass!!" I yelled.

"Oh be quiet shorty." He mumbled.

Ban seemed to be like a psycho just because he was taking Meliodas's speed and strength away. I wish I could do something, but I can't just step into the ring. I'll be the one that looks crazy.
Ban threw the last blow while Meliodas was down.

"Meliodas!" I screamed.

I couldn't see a thing dust, sand, and rocks flew everywhere.

"Julianne, shhhh. Watch the name okay."

Meliodas was a few feet away from me with his finger over his lips. He was smiling at me and he also winked. Relief immediately washed over me knowing he's okay.

"Where's Ban?" The ref asked.

"Over there." Meliodas pointed to a rock wall.
Ban was inside of it making a huge hole.

"Meliodas is the winner!!"

Everyone cheered as he stepped out of the arena.
I'm happy he's okay, he probably used his demonic powers to get him out of that sticky situation. I giggled like an idiot and went to search for my friends. They were standing by the arena a few feet away from me.

"Hey guys, don't you think that was amazing?" I asked.

"Yeah, your future husband was awesome." Abby said

I froze from shock and a blush spread across my cheeks and to my ears.

"Pfft, like I would ever allow that little pervert to marry her. I would be the one to punch some fucking sense into him" Al added.

My mind started to think of what the wedding would be like. Him in a tuxedo, us saying our vows. Julianne! Shut up! It will never happen!
I shook my head as I looked around.

"W-where's Ivette?" I asked.

"She went with Hawk to get Ban out of the wall. But she'll be back soon." Al said.

"Oh....."

We stood there awkwardly not saying a word. Why can't I say anything?! Ugh, Julianne speak!

"Sooooo, do you guys like it here?"

"Yeah, it's fine. But I miss my iPod and phone. I wish I had mine like you have yours." Al said.

"I wish I had my mangas with me. I would love to read them." Abby said.

"It's okay, soon, we'll be back home with our family's again."

We smiled at each other and hugged. Once we released I turned around to look for Meliodas but I crashed in to someone. We fell me being on top. I looked down at the person, and how convenient, it's Meliodas. Ya know, sometimes I feel like I'm in a fan-fiction on wattpad or something (wink wink).

"I can stay like this." He said and winked.

I was immediately pulled up my Al as she yelled at Meliodas for apparently being the biggest pervert in the universe. Meliodas just shrugged it off, got up, and walked back into the arena for the last fight. It was Diane vs Meliodas.

They're probably going to half ass it because they're partners and all. Everything was fine until Meliodas got some older aged cheerleaders "cheering" him on. Meliodas was oblivious to the fact that Diane was boiling with anger. She then punched him yelling.

"YOU FILTHY WOMANIZER!!!!"

I stared in shock, Al laughed hard, and Abby giggled. Ivette, Ban, and Hawk haven't showed up yet so they'll probably miss this. It's going to be one hell of a fight.
