Making Emotions Worse
Marklin limped in, still shaking and gasping.
“MARZ!” Kathie yelled, she sprinted over and went to comfort Marklin, who squalled and pushed her away and collapsed to his knees again. Cass sprinted over as well.
“Hey hey, honey what’s wrong?” Cass asked softly, Marklin still panicked and shook. Kathie put a gentle hand in front of Marklins face. Marklin started to calm down, Cass and Kathie picked him up and took him away to try and calm him down in some way.
“Woah, what happened?” Sonic turned to Gadget, who signed, ‘Infinite attacked. He usd those red cubes….’
“Virtual reality….” Shadow looked away. Gadget jumped when he noticed the black and red hedgehog, but Sonic quickly calmed him down.
“It’s okay; he’s on our side.” Sonic smiled, looking to Shadow, who simply huffed. “What were you saying Shads?”
“Remember when I said Infinite could create fake people?” Sonic nodded. “It’s sort of like a virtual reality. He can keep someone in there, showing them things….”
Sonic’s eyes widened. “That’s…” He shook his head quickly. “I’m gonna make sure Marklin’s okay.”
He then left, leaving a suspicious Shadow to watch him leave. Sonic walked into the next room, where Kathie and Cass took him.
Marklin was curled up in Kathies lap, with Cass gently petting, both cooing to him. The two women looked up at Sonic as he entered.
Sonic’s ears flattened slightly as he leaned against the doorway. “He okay?”
“He will be.” Cass said softly, she gave a particularly gentle and sweet pat to Markins head and stood, walking to Sonic. “What do you need?”
“Oh, nothing.” The blue hedgehog looked down. “Just wanted to make sure he was alright…. Infinite must’ve shown him something really bad….”
“It doesn’t take much for him.” Cass looked back at her two children, “Not to mention he’s already stressed to hell and back, probably has no meds, but he’ll be fine.”
Sonic frowned. “I’m sorry that you all got involved in this…. You don’t need all of this stress. You have your own lives….”
“And our lives revolve around our family.” Cass said, she smiled a small bit. “And we’d do this for anyone anywhere.”
Sonic smiled a small bit. “Thanks…. I- we- really appreciate it. Especially after all of this.”
“It’s no problem, rat.” Marklin quipped, finally to a state of calmness.
“Look at you, still with the name calling, eh?” Sonic grinned before glancing awkwardly to the side as if he wanted to say something.
“What else should I call you? Blur, razor, Ogilvie?” Marklin said, he sat up. Kathie grunted under him.
Sonic tensed slightly. “D-Don’t call me Ogilvie!” He coughed. “Eh, just call me Sonic, okay? I’d rather you just call me by my name.”
“Fine, Maurice!” Kathie called from under her brother.
“That’s not my name!” Sonic squeaked out.
“You two are worse than Timmy, at least he just doesn't know he’s being a rude ass.” Cass growled.
Sonic coughed. “I’m just gonna leave you be then, if you two are gonna do this.”
“You’re no fun.” Kathie called, Marklin laughed.
“Let the hog be, swine.” Kathie pushed Marklin off her.
“I’ve had six months of worse things, honestly.” Sonic crossed his arms. “Actually, I’ve had 16 years of worse things. But still, kind of a low blow with those names….”
“Ignore the peanut gallery, they are just morons.” Cass sighed, tired and annoyed with her gaggle of goofballs.
Sonic chuckled. “Well, I better see if Knuckles has something for me to do. See ya!”
He then ran off, but almost immediately, Shadow appeared at the doorway. “He’s hiding something from me, isn’t he?”
“He’s been through alot, let him at least process it before he talks with you.” Cass said.
Shadow looked to where Sonic ran off, frowning. “I’m worried about him…. He seems normal, but sometimes….” He shook his head with a small sigh.
“Eh, he’s probably fine.” Kathie called.
Shadow glanced to Kathie for a second before looking down to the floor. “I’m not so sure….”
“He will be fine, he has been through a lot, everyone has little things that bother them, he’ll go to you when he feels it’s time.” Marklin said, standing up.
“Alright, love doctor.”
“I’m retired.”
“Love midwife-”
“Both of you shut up, Allah.” Cass shook her head and looked to Shadow, she put a hand on his shoulder. “But Marz’ right, it will be fine, just give him time and support.”
Shadow looked to Cass before sighing and nodding. “Alright…. I just feel like everyone’s hiding something from me….”
“Everyone is hiding something, doesn’t mean it’s just from you.” Kathie called.
“You need to stop, not everyone has a big bad secret that they are hiding.” Marklin hissed.
“What about you’re-”
“Daughter please.” Cass snapped.
“You two are no help, honestly.” Shadow rolled his eyes. “But I understand. I did just get back, but it just feels like I’ve missed so much during these six months.”
“It’s gonna work out, ok, the status quo is god-”
“You said God-”
“Moooooom that’s bad-”
“This is why I disowned you two and left you in Deutschland! McFlurries!” Cass snapped her glaze at the two on the other side of the room, of whom were laughing.
“I’m just going to leave you all alone.” Shadow said before turning around and mumbling, “One person from my family is taking over the world and the rest are doing this….” before walking out.
“Hey I was trying to help!” Cass called, following him. Marklin and Kathie finally calmed down, and followed as well.
Shadow ignored them and kept walking, glaring ahead of him.
“See look, you two goblins pissed him off, what are you even good for?” Cass called, snapping her attention at her children. Shadow glanced back, but continued to walk away, out of the base.
The three turned Mobians continues into the main room, bickering between themselves. Silver and Amy were having a small conversation, but stopped when they heard the three.
“Is everything okay?” Silver questioned.
“I was until these two decided to blabber off.” Cass growled.
“We were just being playful!” Kathie called.
“Yeah maybe we went too far.” Marklin admitted, Kathie elbowled him.
“Stop being unfun-”
“This is exactly what happened before, assholes.” Cass cut over.
“What are you talking about?” Amy tilted her head. “What happened?”
“They pissed off Silver, I believe.” Cass said.
Silver and Amy glanced at each other. Silver spoke up. “You mean Shadow?”
“He did just storm out.” Amy added.
“Yeah Silver.” Cass ‘corrected.’
“That's my na- you know what, nevermind.” Silver sighed. “Anyways, not that it’s hard to make him mad, but how did you guys do that?”
Cass gestured at Marklin and Kathie, finding that an acceptable answer. Silver sighed.
“Of course.” The white hedgehog then looked to where Shadow ran off. “I should make sure he’s okay….”
