The world was basically in ruins.

And they thought that bringing -them- back would help any.

“Eggman has taken over for almost half a year now….” Knuckles explained.

“You were gone like 12 years how does this continuum work again?” Marklin asked, annoyed by the fact that he was in a sweater, and fur, and everything was on fire so it was about 10000000 degrees at the least.

Knuckles only shrugged, forgetting that there even was a continuum.

“Whatever, Mark, can we just finish this briefing, and get on with this dumb revolution, I have papers to grade.” Jasper sighed, Marklin rolled his eyes, leaned onto a wall and puffed, fluffing up a little.

Knuckles rolled his eyes. “He had the help of this mysterious guy. We haven’t been able to get much information on him, but he’s… he’s really powerful….”

Amy started to cry as Silver spoke up. “He… He killed Sonic….”

“He… WHAT!” Cass finally came to her senses on this whole thing. She started to buzz in rage. “That boy doesn’t deserve to be the pincusin of this worlds villans how could anyone dare TO EVEN-” Cass was grabbed by Kathie.

“That is very much displeasing.” Kathie alliterated for her mother.

“There’s one more thing….” Silver paused, almost scared to say it.

Rouge spoke for him. “Shadow has sided with them….”

“What else is wrong, are we going to have to beat the sun or something?” Marklin sneered, he shook his head. “I’m sure it all just needs to work out, he’s family, as evil as some of us get, we all stick to each other. It’s almost weird.”

“Your entire family is weird.” Jasper growled.

“It’s your family as well!” Marklin called.

“I was talking to Shadow before it happened.” Rouge said. “He was perfectly normal, maybe a bit spacey, but still normal nonetheless.”

“It doesn’t matter now.” Knuckles looked down with a small sigh. “What matters now is finding out who or what that thing was.”

“Alright, what do we need to do.” Cass said, straightening herself up as she calmed.

“I want you to go with Silver; I sent a group of soldiers down to Sunset Heights earlier, but I haven’t heard from them since. I need a group to investigate it.” Knuckles ordered.

“Aye aye, commander!” Silver saluted. Jasper grunted, got smacked over the head by Marklin who then got elbowed by Kathie. Cass sighed and they were off.

Silver lead the group out of the base, and from there to Sunset Heights, he was on high alert.

“So like, we just look for the troops?” Kathie asked, lagging slightly behind the others.

“Yeah, basically.” Silver shrugged. “I don’t think it’d be that easy, though. Whatever Eggman’s ally is, it’s strong…. If Sonic was still here, then it would probably be easier….”

“Oh come on, Sonic might be gone, but we gotta work hard to put the world back how he wanted it and loved it, now come on, let’s get going!” Marklin said, grabbing hold of Silvers shoulder before forging on like an idiot.

Silver squeaked slightly before putting on a brave face. “Right.”

They soon made it to the center of the city in Sunset Heights. Dead Mobian bodies littered the ground. Silver sighed. “So much for retrieving our troop….”

Jasper had to immediately backtrack and leave the situation, Cass following him, half to comfort him, half of her own need.

Silver frowned, closing his eyes. He was use to these sights, but he was still a 14 year old boy. “I guess we should head back then….”

From an alley, someone stood, watching, frightened.

“What about them?” Kathie said, noticing the form by the side of her glance.

Silver opened his eyes, immediately turning to find the person. “Who…?” He noticed the mobian. “Hey, it’s okay! We’re a part of the resistance.”

The mobian walked out, revealing himself to be a red wolf. Nervously, he signed, ‘I’m sorry for being such a coward….’

Marklin walked up, understanding easily, and smiled softly, ‘Hey, kid, you are fine, you need to be taken to safety, come on.’ he signed back.

The wolf nodded, signing a quick, ‘Alright.’

Marklin nodded curtly and put a hand on the wolf’s shoulder, and gestured for them to follow him. Nervously, the wolf followed, and soon, they were heading back to the base.

“What happened?” Silver asked the wolf.

‘It came…. It killed everyone, but spared me if I ran away…. That’s what I did….’ The wolf signed.

“The thing came and it murdered everyone, and it spared them.” Marklin said quickly.

Silver nodded, and they continued on.
