Ruhana’s POV

I was driving, Vineet was looking out of the window.

“Hum kahan ja rahe hain?” he asked.

“Mujhe kuch kaam hai, fir hum garden jayenge. “ i said.

He smiled wider hearing that…”Maza aayega. Hum icecream khayenge. “ he said clapping his hands.

I smiled and a past memory flashed in my mind.

*Flashback Begins*

It was before our wedding. After a tiring day at office, Vineet told me that we're going for dinner, where he took me earlier. Yes, he didn't ask, he used to tell me. I knew there was no way to deny him,he would just take me with him. It was 10:30 when we walked out of the restaurant.

“Pasta was yummy! “I exclaimed.

“Tum hi aane se mana kar rahi thi. “he teased me.

“I didn't knew ki tumhe meri pasand abhi tak yaad hai. “ I replied.

He held my hand..

“ You're my best friend Ruhana. Tumse judi koi bhi Baat kaise bhul sakta hoon main. “ he said while looking in my eyes.

I could see immense love in his eyes. He stopped near to his car and looked at me..

“Jab tumhara naam suna tha, lagta tha ki tumhe jaanta hoon. Tumhe kabhi bhula hi nahi tha. Han tum zaroor apne Vineet ko bhul gayi thi. “ he said.

I hugged him immediately..

“Itna Pyaar mat karo Vineet. Ek baar tumhare hote hue bhi tumse door ho gayi thi. Ab Tumhare bina jee nahi paungi. “ I said tearily.

He hugged me back securing me in his strong arms.

“Tumhe toh kabhi bhul nahi sakta Ruhana. Tum hi toh is dil ki dhadkan ho. “ he said.

I smiled lightly… “Baatein mat banao tum. “  I said.

“Arey sach bola. Bharosa nahi kya tumhe? “ he asked.

“ Khud se zyada tum par yakeen hai Vineet. “ I said pecking his cheek.

He smiled “chalo lets go. “ he said.

I nodded and we hopped inside the car. He was driving and I was enjoying the cool breeze as it rained that evening. He was driving when my eyes fell on an icecream parlour.

“Vineet!! Stop the car. “ I shouted.

“kya hua? “ he asked baffled.

“ icecream. Please laao na. “ i said like a kid.

He smiled…

“Bachchi ho ekdum.” He said.

“Ab jaisi bhi hoon , tumhari  hoon. Is janam Mein mujhse hi kaam chalana padega. “ I winked at him.

“And I love you. “ he said and left to get icecream for me while I just smiled.

*Flashback ends*

Tears escaped my eyes. He broke my trance..

“ Tum ro kyun rahi ho? “ he asked.

I looked at him. He was not his usual self, yet he recognized my tears. He was right, he always knew when I was sad or hurt or teary.

“Bolo na! Chup kyun ho? “ he again asked.

I smiled… “Kuch nahi Vineet.” I said.

Meanwhile, I reached our office.  He looked around strangely. I held his hand..

“Chalo Vineet. “ I said.

“ But yeh kaunsi jagah hai? “ he said.

“bas thoda sa kaam hai. “I  said.

We entered in and moved into his cabin. I made him sit on the chair

“ tum baitho yahan. Ye hamara office hai. “ I said.

“ hamara? “ he asked.

“Haan. Tum boss ho na. “ i said.

“ Main? Lekin mujhe yaad nhi. Main kabhi yahan aaya nahi. “ he said blankly.

“ pareshan kyun hote ho? Main yaad dilaungi. “ I said stroking his head.

“ lekin mujhe yad kyun nahi aata? “  he asked helplessly.

“ koi Baat nahi Vineet. Sab thik ho jayega. Baitho, main aati hun. “ I spoke.

He nodded and I went to meet some clients. I was working on a project that Vineet left incomplete. It was his dream project of a hotel. I was adamant to make it true. I was in the meeting when a loud commotion attracted me and when I rushed out of the conference room, I was left shocked to see Vineet lying unconscious on the floor.
