Chapter 6 - A Good Night

"Too many with animals in hand," I state after I take another picture. "We need to try something else."

"We fed the pig, we made him sit with a lamb in hand," I think out loud remembering the pictures I took earlier. The places and clothes vary but a new approach is needed.

"I could wind the lamb around my neck," Harry jokes and Alessandro chuckles. Even his chuckle is booming. His voice is gentle yet it carries a weight.

"That's it." My eyes widen and Harry looks at Alessandro then back at me, questioning my sanity probably. "Put it around your shoulders and look at it ever so lovingly."

"Really?" Harry gives me a questioning glance.

"It could make for a good pose." I get my camera ready as he murmurs an 'alright' and hoists the lamb around his back shoulders. He holds its legs with a firm yet loose grip. His veins are visible and some rings sit on his fingers like they were meant to. His neck is displayed and his eyes glimpse at the animal fascinatingly. He isn't even aware of how effortlessly alluring he looks.

"Well done," I compliment and he puts the animal down before bowing. I raise my eyebrows.

"I didn't say to impersonate a king's guard but okay." He just laughs and I shake my head. I didn't know he was this dorky in real life too. I don't mind it. That's just how I talk. On scanning the pages, I find that only two shots are left in the same outfit.

"One last clothes change." I let him know and the woman is there again. To make matters easy, I had a curtain set up so that he can change. I suggested this when he kept going all the way inside the Villa, where the dressing rooms and make-up touches were happening. The shots were taking place all around the garden so it was hard for him to go back and then come back.

He goes behind the curtain, taking the clothes from the woman. I peer into my camera to give a quick once over to the shots. There's quite a lot of variety. Lambs, pigs, flamboyant clothes, divergent settings, and what-not. There should be something else. After a few minutes, he emerges wearing the blazer but paired with a silk lavender blouse, tied in a ribbon. A rather bulky cross necklace also hangs in front of the ribbon.

I mean it when I say no one could look that good in such an odd combination.

A red-haired guy steps in and pats his hands everywhere to make sure there isn't anything out of place. When he goes away, Harry comes forward and tries to see what I'm looking at. I haven't shown the pictures to anyone yet. Alessandro respected my wish to do that when the photoshoot is over. I didn't think he'd agree to that, especially since this is my first time shooting for him. He went to talk to the people who were setting up the light to not do that anymore. There is enough light where we're shooting presently.

I turn the camera away from him. "Easy, Curious George."

"You give a lot of nicknames," Harry says playfully and I shrug. "Do you get them too?"

"I like giving them but I don't like being given one." I clarify. No matter how long my name is and how much time people take to pronounce it right, I've never opted for a shorter version. "Don't think of doing that."

Harry smirks before saying. "Don't worry. I like your name as it is."

I look at him in surprise and he's still smirking. My ears feel very hot suddenly.

I clear my throat and pretend I didn't hear him. I turn my attention back to the camera and say in my nonchalant voice. "I was thinking there is variety in the pictures but not a lot. What else could we do?"

I sit down on the steps and he is about to follow me in that act but I hold up a hand. "Uh-uh. Model clothes. You don't want to ruin them."

His cheeks turn a shade of light pink but he steps away. "Right. Sorry, I forgot."

I don't know why he blushed. Was it something I said? Or was it because he looked desperate to sit down with me but I stopped him?

Snap out of it. He wasn't desperate.

"This black cross is heavy." He changes the subject, inspecting it in his hand, his lips pouty.

An idea comes to my mind.

"Wait a second." I get up right away and place a hand over my eyes to look for Alessandro in the sunlight. He's coming back to where I'm standing. I meet him halfway.

"Do we have a monochrome camera? I left mine at the hotel."

"Sure." He answers then turns back and waves at a couple of guys. "Hey! We need a monochrome camera here!" He bellows.

He presented me with the option to use their cameras but I felt more comfortable with mine. One of the guys comes running towards us and hands me the camera. I haven't used this one before but I know how all of them work. But this camera is already working so it should be okay.

"Okay, I need you to sit there now." I motion to the place he wanted to sit moments ago.

"Are you sure it's okay now?" He jokes, holding his finger in the air, referring to our premature conversation.

"Yes, now's your time, model." I direct the camera at him.

"What do you want me to do?" He asks once he sits down.

"Look to your right and smile. But not literally. Only like you're intending to." He curls one corner of his mouth. For this shot, I have to be way closer to him.

"Perfect."

A snap is heard and when I move the camera away from my face, there's only a distance of some inches between us. His emerald eyes bore into my dark brown ones and I feel my stomach flutter.

"The king's guard is a genius," I move away from him before I lose my balance. He gets up from the steps and bows once again. I can't help but laugh. He joins me in the laugh and we're both laughing, looking at each other the whole time. Alessandro lets out a giggle too.

"Okay the last one," I announce once the laughter has seized.

"Where now, Your Highness?" He asks, his voice is serious but his face puckish.

"Right here, once again," I reply, matching his jauntiness.

"Take the goat and let it touch your chin. It would look cute." Just like the last one, I have to be closer to him.

He takes the goat in his large hands and it brushes its mouth against his chin in an adorable way. What's more adorable is that Harry closes his eyes and smiles his dimpled and crinkled smile.

The camera takes a snapshot. Once it's done, remember to step away first. And say, "Done."

Harry opens his eyes and cheers. Alessandro exclaims 'Mamma Mia!' The crew hoots and pretty soon, the garden is full of happy phrases. I snicker, hearing everyone. After a whole day of filming, I concur.

"Good work, everyone." Alessandro's indulgent voice is perceived and claps are heard. A few whistles too. "Let's wrap it up."

Harry takes this as the chance to change into his regular clothes. He steps behind the curtain again and comes out, wearing a simple white shirt with corduroy trousers.

The team sets to work and Alessandro says to both Harry and I. "Cause for celebration, eh?"

"That'd be wonderful." Harry agrees.

"You don't want to see the pictures?" I ask Alessandro since he hasn't seen them.

"We'll look at them over drinks." He looks at me, then pauses. "You're coming, right?"

"I mean I don't drink so there will be no point but-"

"There are other drinks." Harry interrupts and I abruptly look at him. He catches himself. "Sorry, you were saying something."

The look in his eyes is the eager one. Like he wants me to come.

I shake off the suspicion and carry on. "It's okay," I turn to Alessandro. "But since I have to show you the pictures, I suppose I should." I complete what I was saying.

"Great," Harry says casually but doesn't look at me.

Is he embarrassed?

"Off we go, then." Alessandro walks away. Harry and I walk behind him. He doesn't say anything the whole walk back to Alessandro's car but when Alessandro sits in the passenger seat and Harry gets to sit beside me in the backseat, I don't envisage his contented grin.
