Danny and I were in bed, Danny was asleep, I was not, (of course I wasn't asleep, I'm an insomniac here Darling), but I was still kind of relaxed so take that as you will, (or don't, I'm not in charge of how you feel about shit, ya know), as it was kind of chill considering the fact that it was like stupid O'clock in the morning.

A few minutes later and Sammy was awake and crying, (as babies have a tendency to do let's be honest here), so I picked Sammy up and did all the checks, so I gathered that it was comfort that she needed, (though she did seem calmer when I did hold her for a while).

"Hey Baby, it's ok, you're ok, I'm here"

Sammy started to calm down, (not entirely surprising as she was actually quite an easy baby), so when I thought she was asleep, (we all know what happened to thought though), I went to put her back into her crib, (as you do with a sleeping baby), but Sammy woke as soon as I did it, which meant that she just wanted some comfort, I could deal with that though, (as baby cuddles are just the best, ya know).

"Ok, so you missed me, that's alright Darling, I'm not actually going anywhere, I promise you that you're going to be a teenager and hating everything and I'll be here still"

It seemed like my 3 o'clock in the morning rambles seemed to soothe Sammy, even if it was just a little bit, and weirdly I felt at peace right then, even though I was just standing there with Sammy in my arms as she was clingy, (don't ask me how this was as I couldn't fucking tell ya mate).

"Close your eyes Sweetheart, we both know that you want to go back to sleep, it's ok, Mama's right here, I got you Baby, I got you"

I continued a mantra for a couple of minutes, (it was easy enough once you get used to it), and that did seem to work as Sammy actually fell asleep, (I waited a couple of minutes before I put Sammy back into her crib this time), and so I went back to bed, and Danny was awake, (which was not normal but I guess that life was weird sometimes my dudes).

"Is Sammy ok?"
"Yeah Babe, she's ok"
"Have you slept tonight?"
"No, though I had a nap this morning while Sammy was napping"
"We both know that doesn't really count though Babe"
"I know"

Even though I really didn't sleep, it still felt kind of chill to just relax in bed, ya know, (or maybe you don't know that, I'm not gonna assume what you do and don't know here mate), I did feel bad that Danny was worried about my sleep yet again but we both knew that I couldn't really do anything about it though.

"What's going on in that head of yours?"
"Just things"
"So you're overthinking things again then?"
"(Snorts), You know me so well"
"Talk to me"
"I just feel bad that you worry about my lack of sleep"
"It's not like you haven't done anything for it, 'cause you have"
"That's not the point-"
"Then what's the point?"
"I just feel bad that I worry you so much"

Danny just looked at me like I had just grown 3 fucking heads, (though I guess that I would be worried about me too in his shoes), but I guess that to him it was normalish to worry about the people that you love, but it's still such a fucking wild concept to me, ya know, (or maybe you don't know that, I'm not assuming what you do and don't know here).

"I worry about you because I love you Mandy, not because you struggle to sleep"
"But you worry more because I don't sleep-"
"You struggle to sleep Mandy, you don't decide to skip out on your sleep"
"Well yeah but-"
"No buts, I will worry about you regardless, ok"
"Ok"

I didn't feel as bad about it, but I still felt bad though, but then we both knew that it wouldn't be the last time that we'd have that particular conversation either, (as it takes a while to unlearn things that you learn as a child here, alright), Danny was very comfortable to lay on though I will admit, so there's that going for me, ya know.

"You're very comfy Danny, just thought that you should know"
"That's one way of deflecting the conversation"
"Fuck off and take a compliment will ya"
"(Snorts), You're warm though"
"And you're fucking freezing I know"
"See, you get it Babe"
"You're lucky that you're really comfy ya know"
"Oh I know"
"Good"
