Chapter 13

Reader-chan POV

My left eye twitched as I stared at what lay before me. The cell, in which Lord Barrymore had been locked up in, was now splattered blood...There was also large opening in the wall behind the bars.

"He-he's gone," stammered a flabbergasted Bard, his cigarette falling from his mouth. I heard footsteps rushing towards us. From the darkness, emerged Angela. She gasped in horror as she locked at the scene.

"Where is Lord Barrymore?"

"Help! Anyone! It's the demon hound!! He's here!!" shouted an old man's voice from the outside. My eyes flickered upwards and met Sebastian's gaze. His eyes had a mischievous sparkle in them and I internally sighed. He nodded once. That was all I need to take action.

LE TIMESKIP

We ran towards the place we had been earlier, where everyone turned on Lord Barrymore and the poor dog died. I pulled the hood of my cloak over my head as the rain poured harder over us.

As we arrived, I heard the same chant as earlier.

"The white dog is a good dog, a good dog, good..." the villagers sang in unison, as they were on their knees with their hands clasped together.

"What the bloody hell is happening?" questioned Ciel.

Bard placed his hand on a man's shoulder and shook him.

"Oy snap out of it! What are you doing?!"

Just then, lightning struck overhead, illuminating what was in front of the crowd of kneeling villagers. I gulped.

Lord Barrymore was leaning back on the stone wall, the whites of his eyes shone, and his arm was missing its hand, blood pooling around it.

"AHHH!" The servants screamed in horror. Sebastian approached the corpse and kneel down. He carefully lifted it and inspected it.

"Oh great demon hound!! Please forgive us!!" someone shouted.

Angela gasped and she passed out. Beside me, Finny rushed to help her. I eyed her limp body. Something doesn't seem right about all this. And I get the feeling she's behind the whole case, especially Lord Barrymore's death.

LINE

"Well this is unfortunate, young master," Sebastian smirked and continued. "To think after the case was closed. I'm sure you're a bit...annoyed," his gaze flickered towards Ciel, who was sitting at the head of the table in the dining room. I stood next to door, quietly listening to their conversation, and I gotta say Ciel looked pissed.

"Are you quite finished?" replied Ciel.

"How is Angela?" asked Sebastian as he turned around and looked at me.

"The servants have taken her to her bedroom," I replied in monotone. He slightly raised an eyebrow at my tone.

"I thought for certain that the hound was an illusion that was created by lord barrymore to continued to rule the village. But with him dead I need to rethink things," said Ciel.

"Well this thing isn't human at all now is it?" I asked. What if Angela is actually a demon like Sebastian? Who actually killed Lord Barrymore for all the harsh treatment towards her? All of it just for revenge...

"(y/n)?"

I looked up. "Yes?"

"Are you alright? You seem to be deep in thought," asked Sebastian, concern showing in his eyes. Well that was new. I shrugged it off and nodded.

"Yeah I'm okay," I looked away from his crimson eyes that seemed to stare into my soul.

ANOTHER LINE

I stared up at the ceiling, deep in thought. Has Erwin given up on me? Has there been another attack on the walls? What about Eren has he lost control? I gulped and turned on my side.

Mey-Rin was asleep, her arms wrapped tightly against a pillow and her mouth open, snoring softly. I need some air, I sighed and got up. I grabbed my boots, my gear, my jacket and cloak. I bit my bottom lip and tip toed around the beds and towards the door. I twisted the doorknob and opened.

Creak!

Shit shit shit. She's gonna wake up and question me, I thought. Mey-Rin only stirred and mumbled something I couldn't hear. I mentally sighed and hopped out of the dark room. I closed the door softly and walked down the hallway. I stopped at the corner and slipped on the straps of my gear. I then strapped the ODM gear to my waist. Slipping on my boots and jacket, I turned the corner and approached the entrance of Lord Barrymore's entrance. I looked back, hoping Sebastian wasn't walking around the manor. All clear, I smiled and opened the door walking out.

This is another line brought to you by the Funtom Company...

SEBASTIAN'S POV (very rare and special treat for all my readers out there)

I had just finished putting the brat, I mean...the young master to sleep. It was bad enough that I had to deal with three idiots every day, but having to stay in a village full of dogs...

Not to mention (y/n). Ever since she appeared in this world, she's changed some part of me. She's intelligent, she's strong, she's brave, she's beautiful...every time she smiles at me or I hear her laugh stirs something in my chest. Hell even her scowl is enough to make me soft. I knew that I couldn't deny this feeling. But I needed an explanation on it. Maybe Undertaker could help?

What I would do to have her lips pressed against mine...I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the front door of the manor open and close. Her... she's leaving...

I approached the nearest window. I looked down and saw (y/n). She put on her green cloak and ran towards the forest beside the village. Follow her, a voice in my head kept telling me. I hesitated. If something happened to my meal, because of that Angela...But (y/n) is much more important. I smiled softly at the thought of (y/n) and walked towards the front door.

Back to reader-chan!

BOOM My head snapped up and I looked towards the manor. I heard a strangled cry, before some trees came down as something whizzed past them. I stood up from the tree branch I had been sitting on.

"You needn't worry (y/n)" I froze when I heard the familiar voice. I whirled around and narrowed my eyes at a smirking Sebastian.

"Sebastian you need to stop that," I sighed. He merely smiled at me and walked closer. I tensed when he stood in front of me, I glared at his chest and blushed as I felt his gaze on me.

"It was only Finny running after he saw an...inappropriate scene." I nodded, not bothering to question what that "inappropriate scene" was.

"Why the hell did you follow me?" I muttered. I saw his hand come up and tilt my chin up. I looked into his crimson eyes and swallowed.

"You're blushing," he murmured. I scoffed.

"Well b-because y-you're too c-close," I stuttered. He cocked an eyebrow and smiled again, sending my heart into a frenzy.

"You didn't answer my question, butler," I mumbled.

"Well I saw you run out here and I didn't want anything to happen to you," he responded running his gloved thumb over my bottom lip. I blushed a darker shade of red and the edges of my mouth quirk up.

He was worried about me. He cares, I thought, smiling. He tilted my chin up a bit more and leaned in slowly. I stared at his alluring lips. My eyes fluttered close, as I felt his breath on my lips.

But he's a demon...

My eyes snapped open and I pulled back. His eyes were full of emotion. Emotion that's probably fake.

"I'm not something to toy with you bastard," I scowled at him. If he thinks he can play with me like I'm sure he has with any other woman, he is so wrong.

"I wasn't playing with-"

"Bullshit! I know about Ciel and your game. And I'm telling you once; I'm not a pawn of yours, I'm not going to let you manipulate me for your own amusement demon," I seethed in anger and stalked past him.

TIMESKIP TO NEXT DAY

Damn bastard, thinks he can toy with me, I thought angrily. I was currently sitting in the servants dining room. Tanaka sitting next to me, enjoying his herbal tea. Bard, Mey-Rin and Finny walked in.

"Good morning everyone," yawned Bard. Mey-Rin smiled and sat on my other side. I looked up as Finny sat in front of me. He had dark circles under his eyes and his eyes seemed sad.

"Finny you okay? Ya look like crap," I asked placing a hand on his shoulder.

He jumped a bit at the sudden contact and nodded. As I opened my mouth to say something, the she-devil walked in.

"Good morning," she smiled. Finny then perked up and sat straighter in his seat. What the?

"Angela are you sure you should be out of bed?" asked Mey-Rin.

"I'm fine, I'm sorry for all the trouble," she replied, setting down a plate of food and drinks in front of us. Not touching that, she might have poisoned it.

"The master would be disappointed in my weak behavior," she frowned and looked away. "He always insisted on courtesy first."

She looked at Finny and approached him. "Are you alright? You look pale," she reached up and he jumped out of his seat.

"I'm sick!! You shouldn't get too close or you might catch it! Sorry!! Bye!!" with that he ran out of the room. Well that was...odd.

"For a sick blow, he can sure run quick," mumbled Bard. I nodded in agreement as Mey-Rin ran after him.

SMALL TIMESKIP

I walked in to the dining room where Ciel was eating breakfast. Sebastian looked at me and I ignored his gaze, looking at Ciel. I hadn't gotten him out of my head ever since he tried to kiss me.

Finny and Mey-Rin came running in shouting.

"Sebastian! Help! We can't find Angela," cried Finny.

"She just went into town to look for some medicine for your cold Finny," responded Bard.

"She went all alone when there might be a demon hound?!" shrieked Mey-Rin.

"Oh hell," Bard's eyes widened.

"Did that seriously just come into mind Bard?" I asked. He looked at me and blushed in embarrassment, scratching the back of his neck.

Finny grabbed my hand and dragged me along as he ran out the room.

"Come on (y/n)! Let's go get her!" shouted Finny, Bard and Mey-Rin following us.

"Sebastian are you coming?!" shouted Bard. I saw his gaze flicker up to Bard's.

"Well I-"

"We'll do fine alone Bard, we don't need him," I said. Bard nodded and we continued running.

I saw Sebastian's eyes flicker with regret for a moment but returned to their emotionless state.

It was foggy. Like really foggy we could hardly see. And Finny kept screaming Angela's name.

"Can you hear me?!" he shouted. Tanaka was jogging behind us, carrying a rifle on his shoulder.

"AHH!" shrieked Mey-Rin. I ran towards her.

"What's wrong?!" I asked. She pointed towards what she had been looking at. I swallowed and my eyes widened.

There were arms and legs sticking out of the ground.

"Oh I don't think I can take any more surprises," whimpered Mey-Rin as she leaned onto my shoulder. I patted her head and surveyed the area. And something caught my eye.

An arm, still fresh, unlike the rest, was sticking out of a pile of mud, but not only that but it had a familiar ring with a crest in it.

"Look at that one," I pointed towards it.

"Is that..." started Bard. I nodded. Lord Barrymore's. We then heard howling not far from where we stood.

"Quick! Behind that rock!" I whispered. We ran and leaped behind it. A naked man with white long hair, fangs sticking out of his mouth and red eyes approached the hand.

"What the hell?" I mumbled as he sniffed it and moved it to another place in the pile of mud.

"Surely it's a trophy," said Bard.

"It wasn't a demon hound that killed Lord Henry, it was a human after all," he continued.

"Did he have a grudge against him though?" I asked.

"Could Angela have asked him to do it?" asked Mey-Rin.

"Why would she do that?!" asked Finny.

"Would you both shut up?!" I whispered. The man sniffed and turned around. I held my breath and placed my hands on the hilt of my swords.

I then saw a stampede of villagers running towards our direction. All in bathing suits.

"What are you all doing?" I asked.

"We're going to bathe in the waterfall to ease the wrath of the demon hound!! We heard him all night long!!" explained one of the men. Finny then gasped and ran away.

"Finny!! Get your ass back here!!" I shouted as we ran behind him.

As we catched up to him, we came across the ruins of an old one story building. We heard it again. The howling.

"Get ready, anything could attack, whether it's the demon hound or not," I said. THe other nodded in agreement. Then I saw it.

Glowing, big red eyes, that were certainly not Sebastian's. A large, no huge, white dog appeared, glaring at us. Its jaw opening and it spit out fire.

"It's the demon hound!!" the servants shouted. It growled and charged toward us. I pulled the sword out and pulled the trigger, the hooks shooting out and latching onto its snout, making it yelp. I flew through the air and latched onto its head.

"(y/n)?! Are you crazy! Get down from it!!" shouted Bard. It shook its head around and threw me off. My back collided with a tree and for a moment I couldn't move.

"Bardroy, all of you go back to the manor while I distract it!!" I shouted as I dodged the demon hound when it lunged towards me.

"But-!"

"Move it!!" I shouted. I looked around and saw a tree. Bingo. I shot the hooks out and they latched onto it. I felt the hound race after me, and right at the last minute, I hopped onto a tree branch and jumped up, the hound's head crashing onto the tree. I fell down and placed the swords close to my head, ready to cut.

Just like I've done so many times I angled my body in a circular motion, along with the swords, which came in contact with the hound's back. Blood gushed out of the hound as it flailed and yelped. I took the opportunity and pulled the trigger of my gear to latch onto a tree and get away. Nothing. No...no no no no.

"Shit, out of gas," I hissed. Oh well, plan B; run for your life. I ran, hoping I wouldn't have to transform.

I looked back and saw the hound still flailing around. I smirked. I bumped into something and growled. I looked up and saw Sebastian smiling softly at me.

"You seem to have handled it pretty well," he chuckled.

"You're pretty late, nitwit," I growled.

"My apologies. I will take care of the rest," he replied and approached the large dog. It saw Sebastian and raised its paw, ready to dig its claws on him. I gasped when he brought it down but instead of crushing Sebastian, the idiot held his hand out, holding the paw in place.

"Would you look at that, you're so well trained you already know how to shake," said Sebastian. He then thrust his arm up throwing the dog away from him.

"Stop wasting our time playing with a puppy," said a familiar voice. I looked behind me and saw Ciel approaching.

"You handled pretty well didn't you (y/n)" smirked Ciel. I nodded and looked back at Sebastian.

"Certainly, I shall finish it off at once," replied Sebastian. Sebastian then took out a box of dog treats. Is this guy serious!? As if dog treats were going to-

My train of thought was interrupted when the demon hound lunged towards Sebastian.

"There is only one way to properly train a dog. You must teach the creature to obey your every command using rewards and punishments." With that, he jumped up and hugged the hound's snout. What the hell is he doing.

He then jumped once more and kicked the hound. Then he gave it a treat...But then he punched it...And he scratched its belly...and you can imagine what happened afterwards. Punishment, reward, punishment, etc.

"And for the finale...a hug!" said Sebastian as he rushed towards the already exhausted demon hound, with his arms wide open. Once he hugged it, they both flew up into the air. But then Sebastian kicked him down and he crashed into the ground. We approached the hole and only saw darkness.

"Quit messing around in that hole. Get back here right now!" order Ciel.

"Yes sir," came his reply and the ground began to shake. Steam began coming out, along with water and I grabbed Ciel's hand and lunged out of the way. Hot water flew out of the hole.

"This village is supposed to be a resort for the queen...It needs a central attraction. That's what we have here a natural hot spring," Sebastian explained as he stood atop the water and gazed down at me, the man from earlier in his arms. He jumped down and landed in front of me.

"If I couldn't find a hot spring for my master, what kind of butler would I be? The idea is simply unthinkable." Sebastian smirked. The man then whimpered like a dog and licked Sebastian's pale cheek. I snickered and looked away when I saw the disgusted look on his face.

"Pluto!!" called a familiar angelic voice. Angela ran towards us.

"Pluto?" I asked. The man leaped out of Sebastian's arms and hugged Angela.

"Good boy, my good boy," smiled Angela. A normal person would be freaked out by now but come on. I've seen titans, and this is nothing compared to them.

"I'm sorry for the confusion. This is Pluto. I found him last month and I've always loved dogs. And he was absolutely adorable I had to take him in. He has the habit of turning human when he gets excited," she explained. The man was resting on her lap, a scar visible on his back, the scar I gave him.

"So you sheltered and fed him for a month without telling anyone?" asked Sebastian beside me.

"That's right. Lord Barrymore used the legend of the Demon Hound to control the villagers but in truth he feared the hound more than anyone else. I didn't know what would happen to Pluto if he were to find out. I beg you sir, please take him with you," begged Angela. I looked at Sebastian who looked surprised. I smiled and looked down.

"I think if Sebastian were there to train him then he would become a good dog."

"No thank you. I'm a butler, not a dog trainer," said Sebastian, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Why not?" said Ciel. I looked down at him in surprise. I didn't think Ciel would actually accept.

"Master," growled Sebastian beside me. "Is this an order?"

"It is," smirked Ciel. "I think I'll find it amusing in several ways.

Sebastian sighed beside me.
"Oh come on Sebastian. It won't be that bad," I smiled and placed a hand on his forearm, squeezing lightly. His anger seemed to fade away and his features softened. He nodded and smiled softly, making me blush and look away, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Oh Sebastian why must you make me feel this way?

____________________________________________________________

"There," smiled Angela as she put on Pluto's collar and kissed his cheek.

"AND PUT SOME BLOODY CLOTHES ON ALRIGHT?!?! DON'T JUST LET IT ALL HANG OUT THERE!!! COME ON!!!" shouted Bard as Mey-Rin had another nosebleed. Bard didn't seem to agree to keep Pluto after we explained it to him.

Angela laughed and kissed Finny on the cheek making him blush.

I saw Sebastian looking at Angela with narrowed eyes.

"Let's go Sebastian," ordered Ciel. I sighed and mounted (h/n). I rode beside Sebastian who seemed kinda pissed off.

"Well isn't someone excited to train a demon hound," I teased. Sebastian looked at me from the corner of his eye and raised his eyebrows. I sighed and shook my head. I pulled the hood of my cloak over my head and snapped the reigns, getting ahead of the carriages. I looked up at the sky and closed my eyes. I'll be home soon Erwin, I thought. Hopefully before anyone finds out about me...
