Shuichi's POV

It's been days since Kaede... Kissed me... I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole ordeal. It was my second kiss with a girl. Ryoma was my first ever because TENKO DECIDED TO DARE US! And she was my first female kiss BECAUSE RYOMA HAD TO BE SALTY!

" I need new friends..." I said out loud. " What?" Ryoma asked me. " N-nothing!" I replied. I forgot they were next to me.

I don't know why but Kaede was avoiding me... Did I do something? I don't think I did anything? Lemme think back to our last conversation.

I pulled out my phone and checked my messages with Kaede.

Group chat: Shuichi10, Kween Kae

Kween Kae: I had fun today❤️

Shuichi10: Are we not friends or something more....

Kween Kae: If you want to be I wouldn't mind😉☺️

Shuichi10: I don't... I wanna stay friends...

Kween Kae: O-Oh.... friends... WELL WHATEVER IT'S NOT LIKE I LOVE YOU ANYWAY!

Later that day

" YOU IDIOT!" Himiko screamed at me. Himiko always wanted me to have a girlfriend. She's basically the mom of this household. " I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! SHE WOULD PROBABLY LET YOU SMASH TOO!" She told me. Dad too.

" She seems so nice based of what you told us about her.." Maki said. Pfft. " Son, how do you feel about her?" Himiko asked. " Himiko, I'm not your son.." I reminded her. " YOU ARE IN THIS HOUSEHOLD! ANSWER THE QUESTION! *clears throat* please?" She asked.

" *sigh* I don't know to be honest. I learned a lot about her during the week I protected her. But I'm not sure.." I admitted.

" Not sure about what?" Maki asked. " Not sure if I'd be a good boyfriend.." I explained.

" * sigh* look Ichi. I know you're still shocked at what happened to our parents. You scared of trusting people and them leaving or dying on you.." Himiko said to me.

She's right on that.. The only reason why I'm friends with Tenko and Ryoma is because I know they won't leave me. With Kokichi, I'm not invested in him so if he does leave, I'll get over it.
" But.. You have to be willing to open yourself to others." Himiko said. I've been trying..

" M-moms right!" Said Maki. Seriously Maki?. " You have to be open! Kaito taught me that I can still rely on people and I won't be hurt... I- I-I THINK YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME!" Maki shouted showing confidence for the first time in years.

Me and Himiko were shocked. We haven't heard Maki yell since our parents dies. " AHHH!" Himiko screamed in delight hugging Maki.
" I'm so proud of you!" She said cheering her on. " Maki's right.. I got to open up my heart!" I declared. " I'm off to her house!" I say throwing my blue hoodie on.

" Catch!" Himiko instructed throwing me a wrapper. " A condom?" " What? I don't need more mouth's eating my food!" Himiko told me.

" Right.." I say exiting the door. I run down to Kaede's street. On the way I see Kokichi with a girl about my height. I wave at them as the girl blushed and Kokichi kept a straight face.

They make a good match. I finally arrive at Kaede's house. I ring the door bell. Her mother came and unlocked the door. " Oh! Aren't you... Shuichi right?" She asked. " Y-yeah.. we met at the police station.." I reminded her.

" Oh my Gosh! I remember! You're that nice boy that saved my Kaede!" . " Y-Yep... Is Kaede here..?" I ask pulling my cap down. " Why yes she is! You can head up to her room, second on the right" she answered.

" T-thank you!" I thanked her. I took my shoes off and headed up to Kaede's room. " Alright Shuichi.. This is the first time you'll enter a girl's room who's not Himiko, Maki or Tenko... don't fuck up!" I said to myself. I knocked on the door. " K-kaede.. it's me.." I announced.

" Go away..." she muttered. " Kaede please.. let me in?" I asked of her. After some hesitation the door opened. She didn't look at me. " Kaede..." I say hugging her. " What..." she asked. " I want to be more than friends.."

" I don't know Shuic- " I LOVE YOU!" I told her.

" But Shuich-" I'm not lying!" I explained. " Why did you say no.. at first..". " My parents.." I say sitting down. " What about your parents?" She asked. " My parents died 6 years ago... I wasn't able to open my heart... I was scared too.." I admitted.

" I know how you feel... I was the same when my father died... you were the first person I could trust after that..." She said.

" It's like were meant for each other.." I said chuckling at that last part.

" I think we are" She said warmly grasping my hand.
