I dashed behind a tree, staring at our target.

After two days worth of missions, I've decided not to summon paths unless it's downright needed. And so far, the missions were super easy. No fighting was ever needed, because we were just doing other peoples daily chores that they were too lazy to do. For instance, right now we were catching a cat for a fat lady who could barely walk. A low voice cut the silence through our headsets.

"What's the distance to the target?" Kakashi's voice rumbled.

"Five meters. I'm ready anytime." Sakura whispered. Why did she whisper?

"I am too." Sasuke also whispered. I saw this pretty blue butterfly land next to me on the tree I was hiding behind. I stopped paying attention to the mission and now was watching the bug I've never seen in person in my entire life. But before my short time Konoha, you shouldn't count what I had a life. I sighed.

"Aerith!" Kakashi snapped loudly. I could hear him easily without the headset. Why did we need these again?

"Oh, sorry I saw a butterfly." I heard Sasuke groan quietly. "I'm ready." I quickly added.

"Ok." Kakashi waited a second. "GO!" he yelled and we all pounced on the cat.

"Gotcha!" Naruto cried when he grabbed ahold of the grey cat. I sighed while I watched Naruto get clawed to death by the small cat.

"The ribon on the left ear... are you sure this is the target, Tora?" Kakashi asked through the headset. I looked around and he was nowhere to be seen. Sasuke stepped away.

"Yeah. We're sure." he stated matter of factly.

"Good. Lost pet "Tora" search mission, complete." Kakashi finally replied after a moment along with a sigh of relief.

The Fire County Lord, Madam Shijimi squeezed Tora to death,

"Ohh, my cute little Tora-chan. I was so worried." she cooed and we all sweatdropped, thinking about the same thing.

'No wonder it ran away.' She left with no thank you or anything and we all stepped up to the Hokage, waiting for the next mission.

"Now... Kakashi's team #7, you next duty is... hmmm... babysitting an elder's grandson, shopping in the neighboring village, and help with potato digging." he finished. I felt like screaming aloud. Is this what we will be doing for the rest of our ninja lives?!

"No!! No!! No!! No thank you!" Naruto suddenly shouted and made his arms form an 'X'. "I want to do, you know a more incredible mission!! Find us a better one!"

'Good job, Naruto-san.' Everyone was silent, although Sakura looked pretty annoyed. From behind the Hokage, a man whom I knew to be Iruka got very angry at Naruto's outburst.

"You idiot! You are just a rookie!" Iruka screamed at him. "Everyone starts off with the simplist duties and works their way up!" The Hokage sighed and looked down in slight annoyance. Naruto looked slightly hurt but obviously didn't back down. That boy... had guts.

"But, but!! We keep getting the crappiest possible duties!" he said loud with his head down so he didn't have to look at Iruka no longer. Kakashi knocked him on the head.

"Be quiet you!" he growled.

"Naruto! It seems I have to explain to you, what these duties are all about." We all looked up at him. I hadn't noticed I looked away until now. "Listen, everyday the village recieves numorous requests from babysitting to assassination. Each quest is writen down on these lists and divided by an A,B,C,D ranking based on difficulty. The village is also divided by skill. Starting with me to the jounins, chuunins and genins. The missions are then handed out by us at the top to ninjas based on their abilities. And if the duty is completed successfully, we recive payment from the client. You guys recently became genin, D-rank missions are perfect for you." While he was explaining, Naruto was talking about ramen. I decided it was better to pay attention to both of them at the same time. Hah, I am one smart turtle.

"Last night I had pork ramen, so miso sounds good for..." he was sitting down, his back facing the Hokage. The Hokage noticed Naruto and instantly became angry.

"HEY! LISTEN!" He yelled. It seemed like Kakashi was listening to Naruto rather than the Hokage now too and scratched to back of his head.

"I... I apologize..." he smiled sheepishly. Naruto whipped around still sitting and leaned closer to the Hokage.

"Geez, all you do is give lectures like that. But you know what?! I'm not the trouble-making brat you still think I am." Naruto yelled the last part. I was surprised by Naruto's outburst. For as long as I knew him, he definitly was still a brat. But who knows, he could have been worst before I met him.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, the Hokage and Iruka smiled slightly.

"Ok." The Hokage finally said. We all looked at him wide-eyed and Naruto cheered. "If you want it that much, I'll give you a C-raked mission." More cheers from Naruto-Teme. "It's a protection mission of a certain individual." he finished.

"YAY! Who is it? A feudal lord? A princess?!" Naruto asked and the Hokage sighed.

"Calm down, I'm about to introduce him. Hey will you come in here?" the Hokage asked the question loudly so the person could hear. Then, in walked in a man with a bottle of sake.

"What's this?" he slurred, taking a drink of the alchol. "They are all a bunch of super brats." he didn't even make sense as he spoke. I didn't let the drunken man get to me, because why should he? "Especially the shortest one with the stupid-looking face. Are you really a ninja?" I knew I was just a tad bit shorter than Sasuke, who was by far the tallest. I also knew he dirrected the insult to Naruto. And it seemed that Naruto didn't know that it was to him.

"Haha, who's the shortest one with the stupid face..." he trailed off looking at all of us and himself. I think it was then when he realized. "I'll kill you!" Naruto charged at the man but Kakashi grabbed his shoulders to stop him.

"What's the point in killing the person we're supposed to protect?? Idiot!" he lectured. The man began to introduce himself so we all paid attention to him.

"I am super expert bridge builder, Tazuna" he said."I expect you to provide me super protection until I get back to my country and complete the bridge." I smiled at him, trying to get on his good side but he just took another swig of sake.

Sasuke and myself had one hour to be ready and at the gates. I was ready after ten minutes so I decided to work on a path. I went to the side of the house to my nice work table that I work on everything on.

Sasuke walked with me and sat down on a plastic chair that he had set out for himself a few days ago. He always seemed to enjoy watching me, not that I minded. I thought for a moment.

"Sasuke-san, who should I work on?" I asked when I couldn't figure it out for myself. He sighed thoughtfully and furrowed his eyebrows, some habit of his.

"Your best path or whatever you call them." he decided for me, I nodded with a small smile. I knew that my deva path was my best path so I did the necessary handsigns and blood withdraws and put my hands on the table. A puff of smoke appeared and within the smoke, Astar was sitting on the table with a smile.

"Hello Mother. Hello Sasuke-Sama."  he greeted us. Sasuke nodded his head to him with a smirk. I made sure all of my paths knew him as Sasuke-Sama, so Sasuke would like them more. I dug through a box that I had under the table and got out a small doctors hammer.

"Please take off your cloak Astar." I instructed and he instantly took off the cloak. I set the hammer on the table next to him and looked at the cloak for any stains or holes. I found that the cloak was clean and folded it up nicely, setting it on the table. Astar never wore a shirt under the cloak so it'd be easier for me to work on him. Trust me, it helped.

I took the hammer and tapped Astar right below his knees and got the right reflexes. I smiled and put the hammer back in the small box that was filled with many little trinkets. I shifted a chakra reciver to its right place and looked up to Astar.

"How is your chakra doing?" I asked him and he held up his hand, making a 'so-so' gesture. I smiled at him. I looked to Sasuke. "How much chakra do you think we'll need for this mission?" he pursed his lips.

"Probably none, it's most likely going to be a boring mission." he said, pretending to be irritated. I laughed.

"Yeah, you're probably right." I put both of my hands on Astars chest, one over his heart the other over his bellybutton. I felt a surge of my chakra travel down to my hands and insert Astar. He jolted forward as the chakra leaked slowly into him but I continued. I stoped as soon as I felt a bit weaker. "What time is it, Sasuke-San?" I asked tiredly. He looked at me concerned before looking in the window.

"We have to go in twenty minutes. Are you okay?" he asked and got up. I glanced at him as he made his way to me.

"Yeah I'm fine, thanks for your concern." I replied. "I'm just a little tired."

I felt him hug me from behind and he set his chin on my shoulder, a smile fell on my pale face. I pried Astars mouth open and looked inside for anything unusual, but everything was perfect. I grinned at Astar.

"Your in perfect condition Astar, put your cloak back on and you're dismissed." he smiled at me with much more energy and slipped his cloak back on. He kissed my forehead and smiled to Sasuke.

"Bye Mother, bye Sasuke-Sama." he poofed away and I turned around to face Sasuke. He smiled and ran his hand through my hair.

"You look bad." he chuckled slightly when I pouted at him.

"Not very nice." I mumbled and he smirked.

"Who said I was nice?" he questioned and ran another hand through my hair.

"Me." I grinned at him tiredly and he let go of me. He grabbed both of our bags and started walking back to the front of the house. "Hey, I can carry that." I insisted but he shook his head.

"It's my way of being nice, deal with it." I pouted again but caught up to walk next to him.

"Let's go!" Naruto shouted and pumped his fists up. I couldn't help but to smile at Sasuke's side. Kakashi sweatdropped.

"What are you so excited about?" he asked and Naruto scouted the forest from where he stood.

"Cause... I've never left the village before." Tazuna pointed at Naruto, looking at Kakashi. I thought about it. I don't think any of us genin has before. Well unless if you count me being escorted to Konoha by Kakashi. We started our way towards to Wave Country at last.

"Hey!! Am I really going to be safe with this brat?!" Naruto flinched but didn't say anything. Our sensei just scratched the back of his neck.

"Haha well, I am a jounin, don't worry." he said and I rolled my eyes. Who cares about the ranking, the old drunken man just asked if he was going to be safe. We then were surprised by Naruto's outburst.

"Hey, old man!! Don't mess with ninjas! I'm incredible!" He screamed and pointed an acusing finger at Tazuna. "One day, I will take on the super elite ninja title, Hokage!" he yelled. I sighed, becoming annoyed by Naruto, but of couse, Naruto continued his ranting. "My name is Uzumaki Naruto, remember it!" Tazuna grunted and took a drink of his sake.

"The Hokage is the village's #1 ninja, right? I doubt someone like you could become it..." I could just feel Naruto's blood boil in anger.

"Shut up! I am prepared to do anything to become Hokage! Once I become Hokage, you will acknowledge me!" he shouted angerily. I sighed again and rubbed my temples annoyed. Either he was going to stop arguing now or I was going to make him.

"No, I won't, you brat." Tazuna grumbled after a moment. "Even if you did become Hokage."

Naruto looked enraged.

"I'll kill you!" before he charged at Tazuna, I appeared in front of Naruto and punched him square in the jaw.

"Stop it you moron!" I yelled at him as he sprawled on the ground moaning in pain. Everybody tried to contain their laughter but Kakashi chuckled a little bit. I looked up at him and glared. "I have a headache and that was the only way he'd shut up." I informed him coldly and he stopped laughing.

As we passed a puddle I paused. It hadn't rained for as long as I've been here. Kakashi noticed it to and elbowed me to keep quiet. I nodded but was now on full alert. I sighed as I silently reached my hand in my weapons pouch for a shurikun. Suddenly chains were wrapped around Kakashi and two ninja guys jumped from the trees to the ground.

"One down." The first guy said. Kakashi's eyes widened. And Then The two men tightened the chains until it chopped Kakashi into little pieces, blood spraying everywhere.

"Kakashi-Sensei!" Sakura screamed. Little did everyone else but myself notice that a chunk of wood hit the ground instead the remains of the 'dead' Kakashi. The men appeared behind Naruto and whispered in his ear,

"Two down."

Sasuke sprang into action and was Naruto's savior. He threw a perfectly aimed kunai at a chain and the chain pinned against a tree. I threw my shurikun and it pinned the other chain on a different tree. Both of the boys glared at Sasuke. Naruto just stood there frozen like the idiot he was.

Sasuke jumped and landed on these claw like arms that the chains were attached on. He put his hands on the claws and thrusted his feet backwards, kicking both of the mens faces. They were both knocked back but couldn't move because the chains were still pinned to the trees. Then all of a sudden both of the chains broke off of the claws and let the men free.

One ran at Naruto while the other ran towards Sakura and myself, as we were in front of Tazuna to protect him. I went in between Sakura and the man who was running at us and did six fast handsigns.

"Fire Release! Flame Bullet!" I yelled and blew out my oil chakra, it igniting instantly after it left my mouth. I saw that before the unknown ninja could get out of the way, he burnt his hand and a little bit of his leg. I smiled satisfied when he left but frowned when he came back again. Sasuke appeared in front of me with his hands out and Kakashi appeared in front of him, grabbing both of the ninjas, knocking both of them out.

I sighed when Sakura cheered. When it was our time to shine and protect the client, Mr. show off Kakashi appears after being 'dead'. Sasuke looked like he was thinking the same thing as he gave him the evil eye.

Tazuna sighed in relief from behind Sakura.

"Naruto, sorry for not helping you right away, I got you injured. I didn't think you wouldn't be able to move." he apologized and turned to us. "Good job Sasuke, Aerith, Sakura."  Naruto walked away from the group and Sasuke turned to him with a giant smirk resting on his lips.

"You alright... Mr. Scaredy cat?" he mused and I couldn't help but laugh at his twisted humor. He always continued to surprise me. Naruto looked like he was about to say something but Kakashi cut him off.

"Save it for later Naruto. Their claws are soaked with poison. We have to remove it quickly." Naruto looked at hs hand and sure enough, there was a cut on his hand that looked infected. "We have to open up the wound and release the poisoned blood from your body. Don't move much, or the poison will spread through your body." he smiled slightly through his mask but quickly turned serious. "Tazuna-San." he said and Tazuna flinched.

"W-what?" he stammered.

"I need to talk to you."
