Jared left his third block class and was going to his fourth block when he saw none other than Connor Murphy entering the school from one of the side doors. Jared approached him, the smell of pot evident on him.

"Why are you late? Spend too much time at hot topic?"

Jared teased.

Connor rolled his eyes and just walked away. Jared shrugged and went to English class.

Evan entered the class and sat next to Jared, putting his backpack down.

"Hey Ev. Wanna come to mine after school?"

Jared asked the acorn.

"I-yea. Thank you."

"No prob, bob"

Jared threw a finger gun at his boyfriend.

"It's Evan"

Evan mumbled so quietly that Jared didn't even hear.

The teacher, Mr. Nattania, burst through the door with a Starbucks coffee in his hand.

"OKAy everybody shut up and listen,"

The bell rang and the students filed out of the classroom.

The halls were always hell at the end of the day, people shoving each other, tripping over each other, couples making out because they have no respect for people who don't exactly want to see that. Seriously there is way too much pda.

Jared managed to get to his locker and get his stuff before he rushed out of the school. If he got ahead of the traffic, he could make it home before 5:30 despite school ending at 4:45.

When he got to his car, he saw a anxious boy fidgeting with his backpack string next to Jared's car. Jared remembered that they were going to his house.

Jared unlocked it and said,

"Get in quickly, I wanna get ahead of traffic,"

Evan got in the passenger seat and they drove out of the parking lot.

Evan excused himself to the restroom. Jared sat on the couch alone.

Once he was sure Evan was out of earshot, he started softly singing to himself.

"Am I the only one I know

He heard the door open and stopped, not wanting Evan to hear.

They watched memes and RIP vine videos for two hours until Evan requested to watch a movie.

They watched two movies, Zombieland and The Fault in our stars. Evan fell asleep with his head in Jared's lap two thirds through the latter movie.

Jared, sure that the boy was sound asleep, started softly singing to him,

He stopped when he heard Evan's breath hitch.

"That was beautiful"

Jared nervously nodded, his eyes wide.

"T-thank you"

Evan giggled as Jared's face burned,

"Wow, the insanely cool Jared Kleinman stuttered. What was that song anyways?"

Jared's face grew even more red.

"It's called trees"

Evan raised an eyebrow.

"Jared, I'm just gonna say that I still love you, and I won't judge. Besides, I heard you all those times you thought I couldn't. You sing songs like that all the time. And don't think I haven't found your secret stash of TØP, P!ATD, MCR, and Set It Off shirts, because I have."

Jared's face was the reddest red possible.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Evan snorted and rolled his eyes.

"Suuuuuure you don't. You stupid. I love you."

He kissed the red faced boy, who kissed back.

"I love you too. Goodnight"

They smiled at each other.

"Goodnight, Hot Topic"

Six years later

"Hey Jay, baby, I can't sleep. C-could you sing to me?"

Evan snuggled into his Husband's chest.

"She asked me, son, when I grow old
