WMA 1 - My Childhood
Natsu’s POV
“Natsu!” Wendy made the door fly open and I had to cover my ears with a pillow. “Hey, why won’t you wake up already? It’s a weekend, you know?”
“It’s a weekend and obviously it’s not a school day. Why do I have to wake up this early?” I scrutinized the clock and saw that it was only 6 AM in the morning.
“We have to go shopping, remember? We have to buy our school supplies and uniform!” Malling is one of the many things I dislike in this world, and Wendy is the opposite of me. She’s been living in our house ever since her parents divorced. I wish Aunt Grandine is here to take care of her daughter.
“I woke you up because you’re not a morning person and you move like a turtle in the morning. So get up and just hurry up already!”
Irritated as hell, I swiftly got out of the bed.
“Say, Natsu, do you still remember the blond girl when you were still a kid?”
I raised my eyebrows at the mirror. “I honestly don’t have an idea, child. Amnesia boy here. And how did you know about that?”
“Your father told me one afternoon while we were eating lunch. I’m curious. Is she pretty? What’s her name and what’s she like? I wanna meet her!”
“I forgot about her name and her face. I only remember her blond hair and... Vanilla...” I answered, really unsure.
“Vani—”
“Wendy, Natsu, what are you waiting for? Breakfast is here!" Igneel shouted from downstairs.
“Natsu, we’ll talk about her some other time.” After that, Wendy left my room.
Now that I think about it, there’s this girl in my mind and from what I can remember, she’s my playmate.
Bloody hell, I can’t remember her name. Why did the word ‘vanilla’ suddenly pop in my head?
“Natsu! Do you wanna eat or not?”
~~* * *~~
Currently, we were inside dad’s car... and I’m still wondering about that blond girl. Remind me why I’m thinking about her again, please.
“Natsu, you seem like you’re drowning in your thoughts since breakfast. Something the matter?” Father looked at me through the mirror. I didn’t notice that I was spacing out ever since I ate.
“Is there something bothering you, Natsu?” Wendy queried, worry evident in her tone. I looked at the window, trying to ignore Wendy’s question. I don’t know why I was still thinking about the blondie.
Anyway, I’m Natsu Dragneel. An eighteen year old fourth year high school student who lost his memory last year. Wendy told me that I lost my memory in a car accident. I was asleep for a month and when I woke up, I wondered on who and what were the people and things around me.
My family tried so hard to make me remember some memories, but failed to do so.
And ever since that accident, my father keeps on telling me stories about my childhood and that includes the blondie. But of course since I didn’t know her, I don’t usually listen to my father’s stories.
I sighed. This is my first time I tried to dwell on my past. I already remember a few things, like my likes and dislikes and some memories, but not all.
Also, my elementary classmates always pairs me up with a certain someone who has a short, white hair named Lisa—I don’t know, something like that if we have reunions. They didn’t know about my accident. They said she was my crush, and of course I try to act cool about it so I always say ‘yeah’ to make them believe I still haven’t forgotten about the memories.
“I’ve been together with you for years now, Natsu so I may know your way of thinking and maybe you’re thinking about what I told you awhile ago. You were trying to reminisce about your past, even if you know you can’t.” Wendy seriously looked at me, but I know there’s the concern hidden behind it. My father kept silent, and I already knew that he was agreeing with Wendy.
Of course, being the careless boy, I tried to keep a chill atmosphere so people wouldn’t worry about me.
“We’re here.” Father said after a few minutes of awkward silence. Not awkward for me, actually, because I’m spacing out.

“Uncle Igneel! I wanna buy this!” Wendy held a purple teddy bear in her hand. To my surprise, father just laughed at her. Wendy tried to scrutinize my father, an inquisitive look written all over her face.
“Dear, I’ve got a surprise on your birthday. Don’t worry. I’m guessing you’ll like it—no, love it.” He smiled at Wendy, and I just rolled my eyes at them. They laughed.
“What? Is there something wrong with me rolling my eyes, or do I have a dirt on my face?” I asked, annoyed by their reaction.
“Nothing.” They said in unison and grinned at each other like they were having a sign language.
“Don’t be jealous, son,” Father chuckled, which made me frown in confusion. He then added, “You’re still my only son, anyways.” He grinned at me. I smiled a little, bowing so neither of them could see me like this.
“Uncle, I think he wanna eat already. Come, I’m hungry, too!” Wendy excitedly skipped towards a restaurant.
“Alright, come on.” Igneel followed Wendy.
“I think I wanna pee, dad.” I informed, walking quickly towards the restroom. I saw him smile before I left.
While walking, I saw a blond girl. She strangely looked familiar to me, so I stared at her for a moment. And that’s when she caught my eyes. Her eyes told me that she was confused. That went on for I don’t know how long while I was slowly walking towards the CR.
A bump was all it took for the eye contact to break.
“Watch where you’re going!” A dark-haired woman scolded me. I ignored her and looked for the girl I was staring at awhile ago, but she was now nowhere to be found.
Sighing, I walked away and ignored the lady.
“Young man, return—ugh!” I heard her growl in frustration
I chuckled. Sigh. It’s good to be rude.
Did I mention that I was a head-turner? Every people that I passed by were staring at me.
“What took you so long?” Igneel impatiently questioned after I came up to their table.
“We were waiting for you for twenty minutes that the waiters got annoyed with us now.” Wendy remarked dryly. I looked around and she was right. Most of the waiters and waitresses have been staring at us... or me for awhile now.
“Let’s order.” I quickly ignored their protests.
“Waiter,” I called out, but a waitress came. “One box of pizza,” I stopped to look at Wendy’s now delighted face then continued, “A fried chicken; leg please, with rice,” I smirked at Igneel’s reaction. “And lastly, a double burger.” And that’s the order for myself.
Luckily, my father and Wendy bought my ‘sudden distraction’ and they continued babbling about what Wendy had watched which was Dora. Wendy’s already a twelve year old, and she still talks about childish, girly stuffs? I sighed mentally.
When the order was served, I heard about Igneel and Wendy’s conversation about the party at our school.
“Natsu Dragneel, you must attend at the Meeting Party at your school, Fairy Tail.” Father told me. I faced him, like he was out of his mind.
“You know I don’t attend parties, Father.” I replied mockingly.
“And you know you must attend because I said so, son.” He retorted. That was a great comeback.
“But—”
“No buts. I tell you, you must attend the party, or else...” He trailed off. Wendy was just watching us.
“Or else what?” I challenged him in a bored tone.
“I’ll show this to your friends.” That’s when I choked on my burger. He was showing me a picture of myself dressed like a girl when I was little. God, I freaked out when he first showed it to me after my accident. When Wendy saw that, she burst out laughing.
“Hey, is that picture just on your wallet the whole time?” I asked after recovering. He grinned at me, which means yes. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll come already. Just don’t show anybody that picture!” I annoyingly sighed in defeat. Father grinned. That’s when I noticed that the picture was torn apart.
“Why is the picture—”
“Come, Wendy, Natsu, we’ll continue our shopping.” It was clear he didn’t want to talk about the topic.
~~***~~
“That’s all we need. Tomorrow, we’re gonna get our uniforms." Wendy emphasized the word ‘our’.
“Yeah, right. I’m not excited about it, if you ask me.” I commented.
“I’ve brought you your outfit for the Meeting Party!” Father excitedly shouted, completely ignoring what I had just said.
I rolled my eyes, but then thought: Why do I get the feeling of excitement?
“Oi, air head, you’re here!” My frienemy, also my childhood best friend, (can you believe that he BECAME my bestfriend?) Gray Fullbuster, made me notice that Wendy and Father went inside already. I smirked at him. “Why are you here?” He continued.
“‘Cause I live here, dumb.” I shot back.
“Gray Fullbuster! Come inside and sweep the room!” Mrs. Fullbuster screamed in a loud manner. I laughed.
“Ha-ha. Very funny. It’s nice to know that you’re my new neighbor.” Gray sarcastically muttered, rolling his eyes.
“Spend the last week of summer with pleasure!” I called out to him, waving my hand.
“I’ll play PS3 at your house!!” I smiled.
This boy will never change, like me, always a gamer. Though, I admit, he’s still an idiot.
~CHAPTER 1 – END~

A/N: This is my first ever written story! And by the way, the video Kimi to Kare to Boku to Kanojo is there, just find it. That video served as my inspiration in writing this story because it made me fangirl all over again. Sorry for the long author’s note, though.
And anyways, the next update will be... anytime soon, after I edit chapter 2. :D
[P.S. I love Natsu, but he’s with Lucy.]
