Hastily clicking the notification, I read Skylar's billions of messages she sent in the matter of (what felt like) a minute.

Yeah I hated when she did this.

Agrivated, I typed.

Megan:
God dammit Skylar I am right here calm your abs!

Skylar:
Sheesh okay
Voice?

Megan:
Yeah I need all the details!

"Heya bestie!" I greeted over the call. I always said that once a call started between Skylar and I. "Okay so I'm pulling it up what James sent. He said that Haley had texted him over Snapchat. Something about how Anna was over at a sleepover or something.." Skylar said. I could hear her scrolling with the mouse wheel. "Yeah Anna told me about that. Sleepover at Haley's." I replied. "Okay I'll send the picture of the text to you." Skylar clicked away at the mouse. Soon my phone vibrated, telling me I got the picture.

The text message James had got from Haley said:

So tonight I'm having a sleepover at my place. Since Anna is invited (and we just started a movie) I had an idea for the games part. We'll play truth or dare, something along those lines. Maybe we can get Anna to say that she likes Megan? Anna's never said anything about her to us, so if all fails we'll have an honesty session thing where we all go around and confess something we've kept secret.

While I read the message, a grin slid onto my face. "Wow that's... Nothing like we would do for sure." I said, getting a laugh from Skylar. "Well, how it works for us is one person figures out another's crush. Once somebody figures it out, they spread the word across the group and the person with the crush is constantly teased." Skylar corrected me. Yeah that seemed accurate. "So James said he'd keep us informed about the situation at the party. Maybe I could some over to your place and we could watch Netflix? I got a good show for you!" Skylar suggested.

Once she came over (Anna's parents were out) she turned the TV to Netflix and searched up Seven Deadly Sins

"Anime..?" I questioned as Skylar started the 1st episode. "You know Ban? Yeah this is his show." Skylar said, rushing off to the snack cubbort. "Any preferences?" Skylar asked, gazing up and down the varity of snacks. "There's popcorn if you wanna make that up." I suggested.

Skylar made us popcorn and we watched Seven Deadly Sins. It was pretty good and had somewhat of a plot that I understood. Basically Ban was constantly stabbed but since he's immoral he can't die. Seems like the normal protagonist is immortal and always wins cleche.

"OH MY PHONE MEGAN IT'S JAMES!" Skylar shouted, grabbing her phone from the table. "Calm down it's just a message!" I rolled my eyes, peeking over to her phone screen. Skylar read the message aloud. "So Anna is definitely debating about Megan. She said that Megan has been on her mind but just didn't know if Megan felt the same or even liked girls that way. Anna asked us if we could keep an eye out and of course we agreed. Next plan is pretty good actually. I was thinking we convince both to kiss? Like maybe at school since they're proving them wrong." Skylar finished. "Okay 1, wow that's not the answer I expected. 2, she likes me and it's great! 3, KISS ME?!" I over exaggerated the last one there I'll admit but hey at school isn't any better! "Do it DO IT DO IT!" Skylar chanted, pumping a fist in the air. "Skylar you remind me of the one time J-hope had the camera and was yelling PARK JIMIN while fake punching the camera." I said unamused. Skylar hated when I rephrased the BTS videos she's seen a million times but J-hope is my bias man! "Well I say we call Anna." Skylar corssed her arms, smirking. "Man you don't know when to quit.." I muttered, crossing my arms as well.

Skylar went home later and said she'd see me tomorrow at my locker in the morning.

I drifted to sleep that night (remembering to turn the ringer off so no vibrate or sound came out). What would happen tomorrow? Would Anna care? Would I get rejected? This is one time when you need Jack to talk to cause he's always up late sneaking his IPod to his room to read fanfiction and you can easily text him.

The next morning, Anna's parents drove me to school since Anna and everyone at Haley's brought their stuff that night so they could call drive too school together. Once I got into the gym with Skylar, we talked about stuff. James hadn't said anything since the last text about Anna possibly liking me.

Once we could go, we quickly put our saxophones in the band lockers and ran up to my actual locker (in hopes to catch Anna there).

Once we got there, Anna was surrounded by her popular friend group. Once they noticed me, they pointed it out to Anna (obviously). Anna walked over to me, holding her hand out. I grabbed her hand and she pulled me to the lockers. There was a wall of people (including Skylar) surrounding us. Anna held out her pinky. Instinct told me to interlock our pinkies so that's what I did. Once I did, Anna used this chance to lure me in. She used the Interlocked hand to yank me closer to her. To close. She looked up to me with that smile of hers that could make anyone fall for her instantly. She broke our pinky interlock, wrapping her arms around me and hugging me tight. I did the same to her, getting "Awwww"s from the croud. "7th period..." Anna whispered into my ear (she got onto her tip-toes to do this), the croud drifting off and Anna fetched the last of her needed things from the locker. "Was it just me or was that planned out?" Skylar stepped up next to me. "That was definitely planned.." I replied quietly, patiently waiting for Anna to finish gathering her things.

Once 7th period rolled around, I went to our normal meeting place.

"Decided to come?" Anna asked, grabbing my arm and pulling me into the actual restroom area. "Yeah, wouldn't disobey a queen like yourself." I said. Looking back I realize I sounded extremely cocky.. But can't change the past! "So, I have something to.. To tell you.." Anna stuttered, averting her gaze from me. "I.. Well... Proving them wrong isn't just.. How do I say it.." Anna trailed off. Anna grabbed both of my hands, looking up into my eyes. I went with the flow of what was happening here cause do I know what's happening? Of course I don't!

Anna then pulled me in while she got onto her tip-toes.

Our lips collided.

I'll never forget this day.

We held the kiss till we were both gasping for air. Neither of us dared to break the moment into shards.

"Megan, will you be my girlfriend?" Anna panted, her face red. I'll bet mine was redder than a tomato. Hers was just dusted with red.

I normally don't smile when things like this happen. I'll just hold a straight face. Or I'll fake smile.

This wasn't fake.

And I haven't smiled like this in forever.

I picked Anna up bridal side and held her like that. I touched my nose to hers. "Yes." I smiled.

I ended up carrying Anna down the hall to her 7th period but who was I to complain?! I just won the love if my life!

"YOU WHAT?!" Skylar squealed, jumping up and down. I was trying to assemble my bag to head home for the day but Skylar was extremely distracting. "Yeah we kissed for the millionth time." I rolled my eyes, grabbing my phone from my bag and powering it on. "And speak of hot stuff.." Skylar smirked, eyeing Anna as she walked upstairs. "Your friend okay?" Anna asked, putting a book away into the locker and opening the locker above (the up above locker is normally mine but we share). "Yeah she's just a fangirl.." I looked back at Skylar, who looked like she just saw Ban and all of BTS in the same place at once. Anna nodded her head in understanding, closing both the lockers for me and locking them back up. I reached out for Anna's hand down the hall, which she gladly intertwined with her own. "Wait, this is a moment to remember." I stopped us in our tracks. I made Anna and I run to the downstairs bathroom, getting my phone out. "Today, April 13th, 2018, Anna Maverick and Megan Shooton became an official lesbian couple in this very bathroom." I opened my camera app and held the camera in it's position, draping my free arm across Anna's shoulders. "This day will mark the day we proved them wrong." And with that, we took our picture.

I put my phone in my pocket but left my arm across Anna's shoulders. I lightly kissed her forehead before walking out to the car.

"Mom, Dad, there's something we'd like to.. Announce..." Anna trailed off. I pulled her into my side. I think this gave her the confidence to speak. "Megan and I.. We're a thing now.. As in a girlfriend and girlfriend thing." Anna said, sounding bolder by the end of the statement.

Anna's parents accepted us, and agreed to letting me live here with them.

After that day I never went home. I had no need! Everything I want was right here with me. Anna was all I needed, forever.

7 Years After The Events Of 6th Grade

"Ha, I didn't know that's how you figured out!" Anna giggled, re-reading the part about Skylar and I were watching Seven Deadly Sins. "Yeah, that's how we got the information." I rubbed the back of my neck. "And I thought you were lying when Jack told me that day. I never thought we'd be... Here.." Anna smiled. "That's why I wrote it into a story. I wanted to remember how and why we proved them wrong. As well as the journey we took." I said with pride, taking the small, hand-sized notebook from Anna's grasp and closing it. "And to think, it felt like yesterday you confessed..." I said, packing the notebook into my bag. "Of all people, I'll admit, the last person I thought I'd fall in love with was you." Anna said, kneeling down next to me as I put the notebook away. "Over Hunter?" I smirked. "Okay you over Hunter any day!" Anna said, shocked by my question. "And Phantom Forces. Man..." Anna tried changing the subject somewhat, receiving a giggle from myself.

Funny thing is, we're still in the same house as back then. We still go to the same skatepark. We still go out into the forest area. We still play Phantom Forces in our free time. Anna's parents gave us the house once they moved to Michigan. "And it all happened here!" Anna stood up, throwing her hands in the air. "Yeah, the places you least expect." I smirked. I set my bag down by the front door. We were currently in collage. Both of us were in classes for computer science. We originally planned for one of us to be in for some sort of writing while the other was in animation but the collages were out of state and really far.

Since it was the weekend we had today off.

"You think she'll pick up?" Anna asked, leaning closer to the phone. We were trying to video chat with Skylar since while we looked through old papers we found our old Jack Project stuff. "Whats up?" Skylar asked. Anna held up the big stack of papers so that Skylar could see them. "These, are from The Jack Project!" Anna exclaimed. "You still have those?!" Skylar smiled brightly at the sight. "Yup! Wouldn't trade 'em for anything!" Anna replied, setting the paper stack down. Skylar had moved to Middleville like she said she would at the end of 6th grade. Her move definitely caused tears among the group. Over our school years though while Skylar was out, Anna's friends and our group joined together. We always watched some of the girls play basketball at recess or played line tag together. "Well, gotta get moving! Talk to y'all another time. Hey we gotta get the gang together for Phantom Forces sometime. Anna could easily contact them." And why that Skylar signed off.

Anna and I had gotten tatoos on our arms after highschool. They were easily hidden by long sleeves. Anna and I got one of our arm's done to say We Proved Them Wrong in small but still readable cursive writing. We truely were determined to do it, and look where we are now! We're going to the same collage for the same thing and living where every event happened!

I lied in bed with Anna. She rustled around with the covers, trying to get comfy. "Ugh.." I heard her mutter. "Here." I rolled Anna onto my chest (appropriately) and draped my arms across her back while she wrapped her arms around my waist. "Better?" I cooed, nuzzling her forehead. "Much better.." She whispered back.

Waking the next morning (it was now Sunday) Anna and I opened up my laptop, the same one from 6th grade. We sent a message out to our extremely large group (this includes Skylar), chat that had been there since about 7th grade. We announced that we were planning on doing a group Phantom Forces. Surely lots of them had to made Roblox accounts but that's cool!

Lots if yelling happened from this. Anna and I were on the same team but everyone else was on the opposite. Most of them killing Anna and I constantly. Since we all were in one call it was extremely loud. But nobody was here to tell us to shut up. "Hey Skylar, my teammate are coming." I smirked. Skylar along with Anna and the whole call burst into laughter. In the end of the Phantom Forces match, Anna and I's team made a comeback and won. Proved our friend group AND our middle school wrong!

Everyone left the call to do their own thing. Anna and I watched Netflix movies for a while to pass time. Anna and I were cuddled up on the couch, I being the big spoon an Anna being the little one. "Hey Megan..?" Anna asked, nuzzling closer into my arms. "Hm?" Anna turned around to face me and wrapped her arms around my waist, smashing our lips together. The kiss was passionate and we held it for a while.

"I think we truely, proved the world wrong." Anna said, breaking the kiss and nuzzling her face into the crook of my neck. "Yeah, I'd say the same." I smiled, pulling Anna close.

We had truely, not proved our school wrong, or our friends, but everyone in the world. Everyone always said middle school sucks but, those were the best years of my life and still are the best memories I have. If Jack were here I know he'd be with Owen forever. And Jack still holds a place in our hearts. Nothing that's happened couldn't have happened without him.

We proved them wrong together.

As one.
