~Chapter Two~
[Nezumi]
I was walking, pretty calmly actually, I was listening to the soft, gentle, pitter patter of the rain. I hung my head low, with my scarf covering my nose, mouth, and chin. It's been four years, still, no Shion.
You see, I've been wanting to see Shion
But not desperately, so I wander around No. 6 just hoping one day we'll see each-other again, I don't want to go a crazy frantic search for him, I'm not that eager to see someone I spent less than a half a year with.
What if Shion has changed is what I think sometimes, what if he dyed his hair back to brown? What if he wears brown eye contacts? I actually liked his new features. I wonder what he did after I left, I know he had one of my rats, because I saw one missing and that one took liking to him the most, I think he named it but I don't remember because I told him not to name them and I don't really care enough to want to know its name.
I rubbed my left arm, it has a horrible scar from being shot in the correctional facility, I remember crying, it was when I saw Shion murder someone. That was the first time in years where I cried.
I got very caught up in my own thoughts, because I ended up bumping into someone and falling to the ground.
I rubbed my head. "H-hey watch where you are goi-" I was cut off.
"N-Nezumi?!" I heard a familiar voice then froze, I looked up.
It was Shion. "Shion..."
There was a long silence after that we stared into each-others eyes.
"Nezumi, where have you been all this time?!" Shion asked overjoyed with his goofy smile.
I couldn't form words I was so in shock. "I...uh..."
He was staring at me. I couldn't help but let out a little chuckle.
"Eh...? What is it?" Shion asked.
I shook my head and smiled very faintly. "It's nothing," I stood up and let out a hand for Shion to get up. "Absolutely nothing." I added on as Shion bent down for his umbrella.
"Why are you walking in the rain without an umbrella? You are going to get sick!" Shion scolded me, he hasn't changed one bit, and I like that.
"I'm sorry, mom." I looked at Shion at the corner of my eye and smirked
A blush appeared on his face. "N-not funny."
I stuck my tongue out at him, then sighed. "Where are you headed?" I shoved my hands deeper into my pockets.
"Oh, uh, just back to my place, I was making food and needed to pick up something." Shion stated.
"Ah." I chuckled. "I see you've kept this hair." I ruffled his hair up.
"H-hey!" He fixed his hair. "Well, I wanted to, I grew attached to the color." He smiled his goofy smile. "Hey, um, would you like to join me for dinner?"
"Gladly, your majesty." I joked.
"Pretty small place eh?" I asked as I looked around.
"At least it's not like where you lived." Shion mentioned.
"Hey it's pretty nice down there." I argued.
"Wait, Nezumi, do you still live there?" Shion asked puzzled.
"Mhm. You can grow attached to the things you probably hate at first." I mentioned. "You liked it down there." I added.
"Well because I had you." Shion said as he was stirring the soup.
"We still know hardly anything about each other and yet you are so comfortable with me." I clarified.
"Same goes you for you Nezumi." Shion mentioned.
I stood silent. He was right.
"Hello Hamlet." I hear Shion say.
"Shion, what did I say four years back about you naming the rats?"
"Uh, you said not to name them." Shion recalled.
"Exactly."
"Oh C'mon Nezumi that was four years ago."
"I don't care."
I then hear a giggle from Shion.
"What's so funny?" I ask.
"You still have your hard shell, you haven't changed Nezumi."
Oh god why was Shion like this.
"Anyways, it's done, here." Shion handed me a bowl.
"Th-thanks." I said I began to drink the soup. "Nice."
Shion smiled. "Glad you like it."
We stayed in a comfortable silence while eating. After we were done I was sitting on Shion's couch as he moved around the room frantically.
I had both hands behind my head with my leg crossed onto the other and gave off a smirk. "You know, I'm glad you didn't change your appearance back to what it was before the bee." I said truthfully.
"Oh really? Why?" Asked Shion.
"Because I think you look attractive." I said once again, truthfully.
I could tell he was blushing, I feel like I've been around Shion enough to tell his emotion if I'm around him.
"Nezumi you aren't crushing on me are you?" He asked.
"Nope, just telling the truth." I shook my head, okay maybe he was attractive but not enough for me to actually like him romantically.
Shion sat down next to me with a sigh, I'm guessing he was finished with whatever the hell he was doing.
"So, seeing anyone?" I ask.
He shook his head. "Nope."
I stared at him. "Did you break up with someone? Or vice versa?" I asked, I wasn't believing him.
"No, I haven't been with anyone ever since I came back to No. 6." Shion said truthfully.
"Have you been with anyone before we met again four years ago?"
"No, Nezumi."
"So you haven't dated anyone?"
He shook his head.
"Figures." I looked forward.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Shion yelled.
"Because you are still really skinny," I caressed his face. "and now, with your new look, people may find find you to be a bit odd." I got closer to his face and started whispering.
"Also, if you were to have sex with any girl, and they see your scars, they may have second thoughts." I said gently, still caressing his soft face.
He snickered. "Oh please you can't act like you've done it, we were sixteen four years ago when you brought this topic up, you couldn't have had sex between the age of twelve or Sixteen."
"Who's says that I haven't?" I bickered.
"I'm just thinking logically," he sighed. "Wait have you?"
"That's only for me to know Shion."
"I-I'm sorry." He said.
"Okay." I said coldly.
There was a silence between us, I was deciding on what to say. "Hey Nezumi?" Shion broke the silence.
"Hm?"
"I missed you." He said with his voice cracking, wait was he seriously about to cry? "There has been days end on end where I ask myself if we're ever going to meet again, crying at the thought of never seeing you again, you changed my life Nezumi." I looked at him as he finished, I saw a single tear roll down his cheek slowly.
I softly smiled. "You don't really need to cry, I'm here now." I sighed.
"But I missed you too."
