It has now been about a week since Y/n met Varian, ever since she got home she hoped she would see him again, little did she know that Varian was hoping the same thing.

"Y/n! We need to go into town to get some groceries, would you like to come?" Her mom asked from downstairs. Y/n's face lit up, she knew this meant that there could be a possibility to see Varian again.

"Sure!" Y/n replied, jumping up from her bed and dashing down the stairs at the speed of light, surprisingly not tripping on the stairs.

"That was.. Quick-" Her dad stated, watching Y/n in bewilderment after seeing his daughter nimbly get down the stairs in mere seconds.

"Yeah- I never thought you'd be so excited to get groceries-" Her mom added to her dad's statement.

"Is there a problem with wanting to leave the house?" Y/n asked. She watched as her dad whispered something to her mom, making her mom realize something on why Y/n was so excited.

"You just want to see your little friend don't you?" Her dad questioned.

"Uh... no- that's not the reason-" Y/n said, but her brain was going, shoot he's onto me! Abort mission! Abort!

"Uh-huh.. Well alright, let's just go get groceries then, before it gets dark." Her mom said.

Phew, Y/n thought. Her parents helped Y/n get onto Butterscotch before getting on themselves and setting off on their journey to Corona.

The ride was somewhat long, but Y/n enjoyed every second of the scenery. As soon as they arrived Y/n frantically tried to get off of Butterscotch, in hopes that she could look around for Varian.

"Slow down sweetie! You don't want to spook Butterscotch!" Her mom stated, making Y/n calm down and get off of Butterscotch slowly.

"Sorry Butterscotch, I don't want to scare you." Y/n said, petting Butterscotch's snout.

"Honey, do you have our grocery list?" Her dad asked.

"No, I thought you had it on Butterscotch." Her mom responded, "Oh no.. you don't mean that we don't have our list, right..?"

"Uh.. yea.. I'm pretty sure our list is back at home.." Her dad said.

"Aw shoot. What do we do now? We won't be able to get all of us home and back in time before it gets dark." Her mom questioned. (A/n: They won't all get home in time and back because they'd have to all get on Butterscotch and since that's probably a big load for a horse, it would probably take longer. I'm not an expert on horses so that could be inaccurate, I don't really know.)

"Me and dad could stay here and explore while mom goes to get the list and come back, it should go faster that way," Y/n suggested.

"Hmm.. that is a good idea Y/n, thank you sweetie." Her mom replied, giving Y/n and her dad a group hug before hopping on Butterscotch.

"See you two soon!" Her mom said before riding off.

"What would you like to do now sweetie?" Her dad asked.

"Walk around town?" Y/n suggested.

"Hmm.. alright." Her dad answered before grabbing Y/n's small hand and walking around town.

{Small Time Skip}

Y/n and her dad had been walking for a little while now, until Y/n noticed a certain someone around a corner. Her face lit up as she realized who it was.

"Varian?!" Y/n questioned. The boy turned around and hugged her.

"Hi! I missed you!" Varian said.

"I missed you too, you should come over sometime, would that be okay dad?" Y/n said, turning to her dad.

"I don't see why not, as long as it's alright with Varian's dad." Her dad replied. This made both Varian and Y/n's face light up as they jumped up and down together excitedly. Then Y/n's mom came, which made her dad and mom leave Y/n and Varian alone to play around.

{Time Skip}

Today Y/n was going over to Varian's house for a sleepover, she was excited. They've been friends for about two months or so. They've been going over to each other's houses for playdates, but today was a big deal, Y/n would be staying the whole night. Although she wasn't as excited as she wished she would be, she also had news, bad news.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" Y/n said, hopping off of Butterscotch and walking up to Varian's front door.

"Bye sweetie!" Her parents said in sync before leaving on Butterscotch. Y/n turned around and knocked on Varian's front door, only to be greeted by Quirin.

"Ah hello Y/n, Varian should be in his lab, as usual. You know the way by now." Quirin stated, stepping out of the way so Y/n could walk in.

"Thank you," Y/n said, smiling at Quirin before walking in. She went to Varian's lab and knocked on the door, no response.

"Varian..?" She called. No reply. Where's Varian? She thought. Y/n slowly opened the lab door, only to see Varian hunched over his desk with Ruddiger next to him. He looked up when he heard the door open.

"Oh! Y/n! There you are! Come on over here, I think I got that new chemical to work." Varian stated.

"Okay, how'd you get it to work?" Y/n asked.

"I just added a little less water and now it seems to be working." Varian replied, showing Y/n how he got his new chemical to work.

"Oh cool!" Y/n stated.

"That's not all!" Varian said as he grabbed the finished chemical and placed it into what looks to be the makings of a friendship bracelet. It was Y/n's favorite color, and there was another one that was Varian's favorite color next to it. He took the one that was Y/n's favorite color and stuck it on her wrist.

"Aw cool Varian! I love it!" Y/n said. She then grabbed his bracelet and stuck it on his wrist, moving his glove so she could put it on.

"You're welcome, I knew you'd like it!" Varian smiled at her, earning a smile in return from Y/n.

"Uhm Varian.. I have some news.." Y/n said, looking down at the ground.

"Oh ok, what is it?" Varian questioned, excited to hear said news.

"I'm.. moving.." Y/n replied, a tear going down her face.

"W-what? D-does that mean I won't see you again..?" Varian asked, his voice cracking due to being sad.

"I-I don't know.. I begged my parents to stay but they just won't do it.." Y/n stated, then she remembered something. She looked up at Varian again.

"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day." She started to sing.

"Keep smiling through, just like you always do!" Varian sang with her, before hugging her tightly.

"When are you leaving..?" Varian asked.

"Tomorrow.." Y/n stated, before sniffling.

"So this is it?" Varian said, "This will probably be the last I ever see of you huh.."

"It might be.. I don't know, but I'm glad my last day is being spent here with you," Y/n replied, giving Varian a small smile.

"KIDS DINNER!" Quirin shouted from the kitchen, making sure they'd hear him.

"WE'RE COMING DAD!" Varian shouted back, getting up from his chair and walking to the kitchen with Y/n.

{Small Time Skip}

"So.. Y/n, I heard that you're moving tomorrow," Quirin stated.

"Yea.. I'm going to miss it here," Y/n replied.

"Well I'm sure they're not just moving for no reason, they probably have a good reason to move, and plus who knows, maybe you two will see each other again." Quirin said.

"I sure hope so," Y/n said, before eating some of the dinner, "It's going to be so hard leaving my home.."

"I wish I could come with you," Varian mumbled to himself.

{Time Skip}

Varian and Y/n had now finished dinner and were working together to set up Y/n's sleeping bag.

"Which way does this stupid blanket go!?" Varian said, frustrated he couldn't get the blanket to go the right way. Y/n laughed at Varian who had now thrown the blanket on the floor and side-eyed it whilst working on another part of the sleeping bag.

"It's not that hard, Var!" Y/n said, trying to stop laughing.

"Yea it is- wait.. What did you call me?" Varian asked.

"Var! I thought it would be a fun nickname!" Y/n answered.

"Oh alright," Varian replied, fixing Y/n's sleeping bag. Y/n walked over and picked up the blanket and got it to go the right way instantly, leaving Varian dumbfounded.

"How did you- What!? How!?" Varian walked over to her and stared in bewilderment.

"It's easy!" Y/n said and showed him how easy it was.

"Hmph.. That stupid blanket is just picking favorites." Varian explained.

"Well at least the sleeping bag is set up, what now..?" Y/n said.

"Uhm.. I'm not sure.. How about we play with Ruddiger?" Varian suggested. The small raccoon came running over to the two of them and started rolling around on the floor.

"Aww! He's so fluffy!! I just wanna pet him!" Y/n stated. Ruddiger chittered and sat down in front of Y/n so he could get petted. (A/n: spoiled little raccoon.)

{Time Skip}

Varian and Y/n had fallen asleep on the floor while playing with Ruddiger. Ruddiger had curled himself into a little fuzzy raccoon ball and fell asleep too. The door burst open suddenly.

"Kids time for-" Quirin started, before realizing they were already asleep. Quirin shut the door and walked away quietly.

{Time Skip}

Y/n woke up, it was around 7:30 in the morning, she looked at her surroundings and realized she must've fallen asleep while playing with Ruddiger. When Y/n looked to her left she saw her friend still sleeping, in a strange sleeping position, and drooling on the floor. She giggled to herself before poking him to wake him.

"H-huh?!" Varian shot up from his sleep, looking around confused. The commotion caused Ruddiger to wake up, and as Varian realized it was morning, the fluffy raccoon got up and ran over to Varian.

Quirin opened the door and told them it was time for breakfast and that Y/n's parents would be coming soon. Y/n looked down at the ground after the reminder of her having to leave her best friend behind. Varian came up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"We'll meet again.." Varian started, hoping that will make her feel better.

"Don't know where.." Y/n sang.

"Don't know when!" Varian added.

"But I know we'll meet again some sunny day!" Y/n continued.

"Keep smiling through," Varian sounded.

"Just like you always do!" Y/n finished. Y/n turned around and hugged Varian.

"We should go eat breakfast before my dad yells at us-" Varian said before ending the hug.

"Yea.. You're right," Y/n added before following behind Varian to the kitchen.

{Time Skip}

Varian and Y/n had finished breakfast and got ready for the day (A/n: In separate rooms of course). Now they were waiting at the docks together with Quirin, waiting for Y/n's parents to come with all their stuff. Varian and Quirin are there so they can watch Y/n and so nothing bad happens to her, and Varian insisted on coming to the docks with her.

Varian tapped Y/n's shoulder, when she turned around, Varian stuck the bracelet he made for her on her wrist.

"So you don't forget me," Varian said, giving her a small smile. Y/n smiled back and put his bracelet on his wrist, now they were both wearing their bracelets.

(A/n: Quirin watching these children like 👁️👄👁️)

Soon Y/n's parents came, hauling all their stuff behind them. Y/n and Varian said their final goodbye's.

"Come on Y/n, time to board the boat." Her mom stated. Y/n hesitantly got on.

As the boat drove away, there were two figures waving back at each other as the distance between them got further and further apart, until neither could see each other anymore.

A/n: Here's chapter 2! Thank you everyone who's been reading this. The next chapters will take longer to come out, mostly because I haven't started typing them yet. I also have lost a bit of motivation to write, so that could come into play to make it take longer. I also have some things in store for the next chapter, so it might take longer to write out as well.
