Jasmine's POV

Yeah this chapter is inaccurate. For the sake of the story, Hamilton was first on Broadway on August 6th. Sorry if that annoys anyone.

T/w a swear. That's it.

"Who tells your story?"

We sang the last note perfectly. Happy tears clouded my vision as the audience burst into thunderous applause. We did it! We preformed on Broadway! I wrapped my arms around Ant's neck and pulled him into a deep kiss.

I forgot that anyone else was there. The noise of the crowd seemed distant and soon, it was just Ant holding me tightly. He was the only thing keeping me from melting into a puddle on the floor. We split apart after about minute.

"GIVE IT UP FOR JANTHONY!!!" Lin yelled to the crowd. Ant and I laughed through our tears as the cheering got louder. We all took our bows and followed the rest of the cast off the stage.

Backstage, everyone seemed to be crying and congratulating each other. Ant had his arm around my waist, holding me close to his side.

"GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!!" Lin yelled. The cast cheered loudly. "GET CHANGED AND MEET BACK HERE IN TEN MINUTES!!"

Ant led me to my dressing room then continued down to his.

"WE DID IT!!" Pippa yelled when she walked in. Tears were still steaming down her cheeks. Renée followed in closely behind her. Pippa, Renée and I had soon calmed down enough to change out of our costumes and have a normal conversation.

"I was so scared during the opening song that I was drinking my own tears." Pippa said. Renée and I laughed.

"I was too dazed to cry." Renée admitted.

"Ant and I were practically sobbing." I said, sending us into giggles.

"Whatcha ladies laughin' at?" Oak asked, bounding into our dressing room. Daveed and Ant followed closely behind. Pippa and Renée laughed silently when they saw tear stains on Oak and Ant's cheeks.

"Shut up!" Ant said, glaring at them before sliding his arm around my waist and sitting next to me on our couch. I realized that Daveed hadn't spoken since the performance ended. He was sitting on a chair, seemingly frozen, his eyes were open wide.

"YO DAVEED!!" Oak yelled.

"I heard H-" Daveed mumbled, not finishing his sentence. We laughed at him.

"Okay..." Pippa said. We chatted for a few minutes before getting up and heading to a room that we sat in during performances when we weren't on stage. Groff, Thayne, and Lin were coloring at the table and everyone else was talking excitedly around them. They stopped when we walked in.

"Okay!" Lin said while stepping up on the table. He still hadn't changed out of his Alexander Hamilton costume. Lin gave a long empowering speech that ended with a beautiful sonnet.

"...This show is proof that history remembers
We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger
We rise and fall and light from dying embers
Remembrances that hope and love lasts longer
And love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love
Cannot be killed or swept aside,
I sing Vanessa's symphony, Eliza tells her story
Now fill the world with music love and pride..." (Yeah this is his Tony speech... I REALLY didn't want to come up with my own.)

He sounded so passionate that tears threatened to spill again.

"Thank you." He said, his voice cracking slightly. Chris patted Lin's back as he stepped off the table.

"If you have anything to say you can." He managed to say through his tears. I was slightly confused when Ant let go of my hand and went to go stand on the table.

"I'll start by saying that this is the best experience of my life. I'm the youngest here and this is the first big thing I've done with my career." He began. "I met my girlfriend here." He looked at me. "Jasmine Cephas Jones, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I'm so lucky to have met you. I love you." His eyes started to fill with tears. "Nobody's every done that before." He said, gesturing in the direction of the stage. "We gotta rise up. We gotta f**kin' do it." It seemed as though he could barely get the next part out. "I don't know about y'all, but it's been a long road to get here." He ended. "A long road."

The cast members that had recently dried their eyes, burst into tears again as Ant stepped off the table. I ran to hug him.

A few other cast members made quick speeches, though none of them hit us as hard as Ant's or Lin's. Groff forever called that day, "The day Anthony had us all in tears."

"Come on guys! Cheer up!" Lin said, wiping his eyes. "We got a party to go to." We all cheered and headed back to our dressing rooms to clean ourselves up.

"I love you Ant!" I whispered to him, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I love you too!" He whispered back. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it lightly before we split ways and walked into our separate dressing rooms.

Pippa, Renée, and I fixed each other's hair and makeup before stepping out into the hallway and walking to the stage.

Ant snuck up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.

I grabbed his hand and walked with him, behind the rest of the cast, to the space we had rented for our party.

An innumerable amount of people stopped us to take pictures with them or sign something. When we finally arrived at the building, loud music was blasting from inside.

"THE ROOTS!!!!" Lin yelled, running in. We all laughed at him.

Two hours later, the music was still blaring loudly and I had a bad headache.

"I'll be right back. I'm stepping outside for a minute." I said to Ant. Ant and I weren't drunk. We had agreed not to drink too much. I cannot say the same for the rest of the cast.

As I walked out, I saw Pippa and Groff dancing, VERY close on top of a table. Oak, Lin, Betty, Daveed, and Thayne were all cheering drunkenly while Leslie and Chris watched with disapproving looks, both of them not having drank much.

"You're engaged!" I yelled over the music as I pulled Pippa off the table.

"Whateverrrrr." She slurred. I handed her to Les.

"And your gay." I said to Groff, pulling him down too. He was about to say something, but lost his train of thought and wandered off again.

I stepped out of the building and took a deep breath of the fresh air. I strolled down the street toward one of the stores, passing by an alley.

"Night Jasmine." A voice growled. Someone grabbed me from behind and covered my nose and mouth with a cloth. I felt myself being dragged into the alley before I passed out.

Jasmine gets knocked out again. Yay! Yeah I know she was kidnapped like three chapters ago. I was really busy so I rushed this. Sorry, it's really bad. Thank you for reading this. Thanks especially to voters and commenters.

So I based this chapter off a section I read in the book Hamilton the Revolution. It was a part on some of the cast's reactions to the first Broadway performance of Hamilton. Here's what it says.

"Jasmine was crying; Renée looked dazed. A career in noisy rap clubs hadn't prepared Daveed for what he'd been through: 'I heard H—' and then nothing... Pippa said she was so scared during the opening song that 'I was drinking my own tears.'... The most emotional response came from Anthony Ramos. 'Nobody's ever done that before,' he said, gesturing toward the stage. 'We gotta rise up. We gotta f**kin' do it.' He got a little chocked up. 'I don't know about y'all, but it's been a long road to get here. A long road.'... Groff would later call this day 'the day Anthony had everybody in tears."

So... Yeah! That's where I got that from. Thank you to Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter for writing Hamilton the Revolution.

Lin! 😂😂

Your favorite scene.

Yorktown. There's lots of intense dancing.

Have a great day!
