Anthony's POV
T/w there are two kinda inappropriate parts. I put a *** where it starts and ends.
On June 21st, we moved from the Public to the Richard Rodgers Theater to begin rehearsals on the big stage.
A month later it was Jas's 26th birthday. (Because this takes place in 2015. I know that she's 28 now. Also I've decided to loosely base this off her roller skating party. Really there's just a roller skating part.)
I woke up around 5:00 to get ready.
"You have Nala right?" I asked Pippa quietly over the phone.
"Yeah. I'll have her waiting at your apartment when you guys get home." She said. "And you only have one job. Get Jazzy to the roof of your building at 6:00 tonight."
"I know Pippa. This whole think was my idea." I responded. She sighed and I could practically see her rolling her eyes.
"Goodbye Anthony."
"Goodbye Phillipa." I replied sarcastically. I hung up the phone and ran to our room.
I walked quietly back to our bed, got in, and faced Jas.
She looked so peaceful, laying there. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me, resting my chin on her head. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Two hours later, I was still awake. I felt Jas begin to stir. I looked down and saw her eyes flutter open.
"Morning beautiful. Happy birthday." I said, kissing the top of her head.
"Morning Ant." She replied, smiling up at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach. The same butterflies that I had been feeling ever since I first met Jas.
"What do we have planned for today?" Jas asked.
"Well first I thought we'd go out to breakfast. Then we'll come back here for a little bit. Then I have a surprise planned for lunch." I explained.
"Oh! What is it?" Jas asked excitedly.
"You know I can't tell you." I answered. Jas punched me playfully in the shoulder.
"Then," I continued. "We'll do something else that's also a surprise." She half-glared, half-smiled, at me.
"Then for dinner, guess what," I paused for a second. "Another surprise. And after that surprise, we got another surprise."
"GAHHHHH!!" Jas yelled. I laughed at her. "TOO MANY SURPRISES!!!"
"Come on. Let's go!" I said, getting out of bed and dragging Jas with me.
"Ant! Let me change!" She whined. I let go of her and laid back down on the bed, waiting for her to get dressed.
"I love you!" Jas whispered, crawling on top of me. She pressed her lips to mine. I pulled her closer to me and flipped us over, putting me on top. Jas quickly turned us back.
***"You know I like topping."*** I whispered to her while winking. She giggled as I rolled us over again. I continued our kiss and my hands got tangled in her curls while Jas flipped us over yet again.
"OW!" I yelled as my back hit the floor. Jas buried her face in my neck, shaking with giggles.
"Shut up!" I exclaimed. "Come on." I slid out from under her and pulled her to her feet, still holding my back in pain.
We ran down to the sidewalk, then walked, hand-in-hand, to Jas's favorite café/bakery.
"LIN!" Jas yelled when we stepped in, waving happily at our boss. I froze, realizing that this was the bakery Lin was picking up the desserts for Jazzy's party at. Lin walked up to talk to us.
"Hey! Happy Birthday Jazzy!" Lin said while hugging Jas. "What are you lovebirds doing here?" He asked, directing the question more at me then Jas.
"We're eating breakfast at Jas's favorite restaurant." I answered.
"Mr. Miranda?" A young girl working at the bakery was taking to Lin. He turned to her.
"Your cake won't be ready 'til later today but your cookies are done now." She handed Lin a box filled with cookies.
"Why are you getting a cake and a box of cookies?" Jas asked. Lin froze and his eyes grew wide.
"It's... Umm... Seb's... Umm... b-birthday tomorrow." He stuttered.
"Aww well wish him a happy birthday!" Jas replied. I breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
"Okay bye guys." Lin said. He left quickly.
Jas and I sat down at a table in the corner. I grabbed her hand.
"Did I ever tell you about this beautiful girl I know?" I asked her. She shook her head.
"Well I think you know her too. She is very beautiful and has the best curly hair. She has gorgeous chocolate eyes." I could tell that Jas was getting jealous. "She's also the best singer. She has an angelic voice that I could listen to all day. And she has the best smile. I brightens the whole world. Do you know who this is."
"No" Jas answered. She was gripping my hand much too tightly.
"You!" I replied. Her face softened immediately.
"Aww! Thanks Ant!"
We finished breakfast and headed home for a little bit. Then we got into a cab to get to the park.
"Happy birthday!" I shouted as I took my hands off Jas's eyes. I had set up a blanket. On it, I had a basket filled with a huge selection of Jas's favorite foods. Before she could do much else, I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the blanket.
"Aww Ant! You shouldn't have!" Jas gushed while she sat down. I opened my mouth to reply but she jumped on top of me and smashed her lips to mine. I smiled into the kiss and pulled her closer to me. I flipped us over. Jas split away and tried to glare but ended up smiling.
***"You just have to be on top don't you?"*** She asked with a smirk. I smiled and shrugged.
We finished lunch quickly and laid back to look at the clouds.
"I love you!" She exclaimed, grabbing my hand and turning on her side to face me.
"Love you too." I responded. I pecked her on the cheek.
"Come on!" I said, pulling her up. "We gotta get to our next surprise." I dragged Jas to a cab.
"Where are we going?" Jas asked. I looked at her and smiled, but didn't say anything. She pouted.
"Please!?!" She whined. I looked away from her.
"AHH THE CUTENESS!!!!" I fake yelled. She giggled. I slid my arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me.
We arrived at the roller skating rink.
"Ant!" Jas exclaimed, wrapping her arms around my waist and squeezing me tightly.
We ran to get our skates, put them on, and stepped carefully onto the rink.
Jas gripped my hand tightly as she stumbled. I tried, and failed, to suppress my giggles.
"Shut up!" She exclaimed, shoving me playfully. I lost my balance and fell into a young woman.
"I'm so sorry!" I apologized, quickly getting to my feet and offering a hand to the lady. I shot a glare at Jas, who was bent over with laughter. I turned back to see the woman was giving me a dirty look.
"Watch where you're going!" She complained.
"S-Sorry!" I shuddered, surprised at her attitude.
"You should be." She mumbled.
"We'll there's no need for her to be rude." I whispered to Jas.
A very tall, strong-looking man skated up to us.
"Did you knock over my girlfriend?" He asked, poking me in the chest.
"Umm..." I didn't speak for a moment. Suddenly, Jas grabbed my hand and pulled me away. I caught up to her, surprised to see that she was laughing.
"Come on! Hurry up!" She yelled as she skated ahead of me. I rolled my eyes and sped up.
We ran into the wall on the opposite side of the rink and collapsed into a fit of laughter.
"Thanks Jas!" I said between laughs.
We skated for a few more hours, constantly avoiding the couple from before.
"AHH!!" I yelled when Jas snuck up behind me and scared me.
"OH you're gonna regret that babygirl!" I warned, shaking my finger at her.
She screamed as I skated after her. She tried to leave the rink, but got caught in the door. I crashed into her and we both fell to the ground.
"Ant!" Jas exclaimed. I laughed and got off of her quickly, careful not to crush her.
"Let's go!" I said, holding out my hand to help her up.
"We're leaving for dinner around 5:45 so be ready by then." I told Jas when we got home.
——
I smiled as Jas stepped out of our room and I saw that she was wearing the dress that she bought in Florida.
"Come on we'll be late." I told her. We ran downstairs and got into a cab. I pulled out a blindfold that I had in my back pocket.
"Fine." She said when I gave her my best puppy eyes. I tied it around her.
"Just drive." I whispered to the driver. We drove down the road for about five minutes before I got back up and whispered.
"Turn around." The driver didn't question me and went back in the direction we came.
"Stop here." I told him. I handed him the money I owed, plus an extra five for the weird directions. Then, I helped Jas out of the cab and led her back into our apartment building.
"This is a lot of walking to just to get into a restaurant." Jas noted.
"We're almost there." I said as we stepped on the elevator. I sent Pippa a text saying that we were close.
I led her out onto the roof of our building. The Christmas lights that they had set up we're off and everyone was hidden, though I could see Groff under a table. I pulled off her blindfold.
"Ant where a-"
"SURPRISE!!!" Jas was interrupted by the whole cast jumping out and yelling. Steph and Pippa ran up to us, followed closely by Renée, Phoebe, and Groff.
Jas gasped and was almost knocked over by the force of everyone hugging her. I laughed, standing off to the side. Jas broke away from everyone and ran to me.
"YOU KNEW!?!?" She yelled while smiling. I smiled at her. "I HAD NO CLUE!"
"Well I am an actor." I said, getting a few laughs from the crowd of people watching us. Jas rolled her eyes. She threw her arms around my neck and smashed her lips into mine.
I pulled away when I saw four flashes. Groff, Pippa, Lin, and Thayne all had there phones out. Clearly, they just took pictures. I glared at them.
"Let's start partying." I said.
We had a great time on the roof, talking and laughing with our friends. Around 10:30, I saw Pippa leave to go bring Nala to our apartment.
"We're gonna go." Jas said thirty minutes later, when most people had left and a lot of the decorations had been cleaned up.
We walked downstairs and to the door of our apartment. I heard a bark from inside.
"What was that?" Jas asked.
"The neighbors." I answered, much too quickly. She gave me a suspicious glance before unlocking the door.
Nala, the small, white, French bulldog bonded up to us. (Nala is a pitbull right? Please tell me in the comments.) Jas gasped and squatted down to pet her.
"Ant! Someone left a puppy at our apartment." Jas gushed. I grinned at her. She looked up at me.
"Wait!? Is this...?" I nodded.
"OH MY GOSH ANT THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE HER!! I LOVE YOU!!" She yelled, springing up and hugging me tightly. Nala ran around us, barking loudly.
"Shh shh." I said to her. I picked her up and sat down on the couch.
I talked to Jas about Nala for a while. I pulled all her toys and her bed out from the closet. We played with her for a little while.
"Jas it's 12:30." I said after a while. "Let's get to sleep." She reluctantly handed me Nala. I set her down on her bed and we both went to our room.
"So... How was your day?" I asked her as we got changed and climbed into bed.
"IT WAS GREAT!!!" She yelled. I laughed and shushed her. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer to me, kissing her forehead.
We both happily fell asleep. (Haha I had no clue how to end this.)
