Honor
Corpses locate the strongest god, the only one putting up any actual fight. It's been three hours since our arrival, and the moon now looms over everything. Alongside the god, is a powerful being, but not a god or a mortal, something else. The lesser gods have fought valiantly against us, but it's time to finish the job. The palace of the gods shall fall.
We knock on the door. No response. We knock again.
Why are we doing this? Break the door!
Can't we be polite while we commit mass murder?
No!
OK fine. We bust the door down. The mortals cower in fear. The mightest of the gods stands in our way. We have to finish the job.
It's only then we notice the sense of dread in the air. The world is cold and the moon grows dimmer. We have no choice, no say in what happens next. It's time we finish the job.
"It would appear," the god begins, "that everyone is gone. My children, my wife, my freinds, and for what? You came to this world to kill us. Why?"
We tell the god it doesn't matter, we shall always be sinners.
"I see," the god replies, "is that it? You believe yourself beyond redemption? That's not true, no one is ever truly beyond redemption. Listien, you've hurt a lot of people, that's true, but you can still change. Stand down, no one else has to die."
We strike at the god. He douges.
"Heh," he sighs, "it was worth a shot. Fine. Guess I'll just have to kill you."
The god glows with a devine power. The mortals are pushed back by the sheer energy. The god lunges at us, striking us with blow after blow. We don't flinch, we don't respond. When he tires, we kill him.
The god falls. We use dark magic to kill the mortals. There's three souls left. A god and an unusual being, and a mortal. We"ll handle the mortal later. We head to the balcony to confront the stronger beings. Before we arrive, we sense one disappears, seemingly gone from the world. He must have moved to a different world. No matter, he's no real threat. The last of the gods blocks my way. The god lunges. The moon seems to glisten more brightly in his presence. He must be the moon god. Well, the moon god is no more.
We go to kill the mortal, on the other side of the world. We find the mortal, only a child, sleeping peacefully in her room. Just one quick strike. It'll be quick, then we'll move on.
Our hand begins to shake. Just one quick strike, she won't even feel it!
She's just a kid!
We've killed kids before. We've got nothing else to lose.
At least give her a fighting chance, have honor!
We're right, we must have honor. We let the girl live for now.
We head to the edge of this miniverse. However, the barrier that separates it is sealed. It would appear that the seal is some sort of soul magic. Guess we gotta kill the kid after all.
No! Listen, we should just send the corpses at her. Give her a chance. We refuse to kill her without a fighting chance. We may be sinners, but we have honor.
We're right, we must keep honor. It's all we have left. We head to the other end of the world, order the corpses to attack, and wait.
