I enter the house as quietly as I can and it's as silent as a graveyard. Maybe they went out or something, I pray so.

I walk to the stairs as quietly as I can, I'm about to climb the first step when I hear her.

"Naomi Adesua Daniels"!! My mum shouts with anger evident in her voice.

I can tell she's in the dining room from where her voice is coming from so I walk over there.

She's seated beside the man that I unfortunately have to call my father and two children are seating opposite them.

I hope they're not going to move in with us or we're not going to move to their place.

Let this whole day just be a dream, can someone please pinch me?

"You cannot greet abi?" my mum asks pulling me away from my thoughts.

"Koyo" I say bending down a little to show courtesy.

(Koyo means hello in Benin language)

"Is that how you greet elders?" my mum asks sternly.

"Ob' ota erha" I say going down on my knees.

(Good evening father)

"Ob' okhian, Vbee oye he?" he asks signalling for me to get up.

(Welcome, how are you?)

"Oy' ese" I say then I get up from my knees.

(I am fine)

"Go and sit down" my mum says.

I walk over to the dining and sit on one of the chairs. Someone opens the door and I know its Nathan, he should just save himself wahala and come here sharp sharp.

"Nathan Osaeze Daniels" my mum shouts.

He lets out a loud groan before he walks into the dining room.

"Ob' okhian" My dad says to Nathan.

He just mumbles something and walks over to sit beside me.

"Greet" my mum says sternly giving him a death glare.

"Koyo" he says sounding tired.

My mum is about to say something but my dad gives her a look and suprisingly she keeps quiet.

"Naomi and Nathan, you're not little kids this should be very easy for you to understand" My dad says.

We remain silent so he continues.

"Sarah died a year after giving birth to Ruth, it's been a very long time and I've been a very lonely man"

"It serves you right" Nathan says and my mum eyes him.

If eyes could kill he'd be six feet under right now.

"After I left you guys, I didn't keep in touch but luckily for me I met your mum two years ago at a party and we started talking and one thing led to another and I found myself renewing our vows" he says.

Nobody says anything so my mum speaks up.

"At first we agreed to live separate lives but I thought if we were all together we'd finally have a complete family and that you've always wanted" she says to Nathan and I.

"When we were like eight years old" I retort.

"We're fine now, I think we're already a complete family" Nathan says.

"I know it's hard but you're gonna have to accept it" she says.

"Why don't you guys introduce yourselves" he says to the two kids that came with him.

"I'm Ruth Osato Daniels, I'm 14 and I'm in SS2" the girls says.

She's fine and light skinned with a nice smile and she is rather short.

"I'm Moses Etionsa Daniels, I'm 18 and I'm a 200 level UNIBEN student" the boy says.

He is dark and looks more like my Dad compared to Ruth, I'm sure she took after her mum's side.

If he's 18 it means my mum was even a mistress before she became a wife. This is so pathetic, this type of thing is one of the many reasons why I don't trust guys.

"But you kissed one today" my inner voice mocks.

"It was a kiss without emotion" I reply mostly to reassure myself.

"Why didn't you go to a private university?" I ask him.

"I want competition" he says.

"Why are you home now?" I ask him.

"Teachers are on strike" he says.

I just nod without giving a reply.

"Introduce yourselves" my mum says to us.

"I'm Nathan Osaeze Daniels, I'm 15 and I'm in SS3" My brother says.

"I'm Naomi Adesua Daniels, I'm 15 and I'm is SS3" I say.

"Oh my gosh you guys are twins, you don't look like twins" Ruth says widening her eyes as if to see us clearly.

"We're not identical" we say at the same time.

"You sure act like twins" she says smiling.

"Alright, now that that is over let's all go and freshen up and come down for dinner" My mum says getting up.

My mum takes Moses and Ruth upstairs to show them their rooms. This explains why the maids have been cleaning two out of the three free rooms we have in the house and it also explains why when I came back from school there was always something new in them.

Nathan and I walk to our rooms without saying anything to each other but he looks deep in thoughts.

I peel of my clothes as soon I lock my room door, I get into the shower and I'm done in no time.

I towel dry my body and then I put on my pyjamas.

I lie down on my bed and stare off into space.

Maybe I'll like this new adjustment.

Maybe it'll be fun and we'll love one another like a real family would.

I hear my phone ringing, blinding lights by the weekend blasting through its speakers.

I frantically search for it in the junk I call a room, I finally find it in my bag which I took out I forgot I left it there.

I check the caller ID and I see Aaron's name and I feel a slight flutter in my chest.

I pick the call and press my phone to my ear.

"Hello" he says.

His voice sounds so good, deep and nice. I could listen to him talk all day every day.

"Naomi, are you there?" he asks.

I mentally face palm myself "Yeah, sorry about that"

"I know, I know. My voice takes people places" he says.

Judging from how much I know Aaron, he is smirking right now.

"I know right, it's so captivating" I say sarcasm lacing my voice.

"If it's not my voice, why did you na zone out?"

"Someone was talking to me" I lie fluently.

"Why did I not hear it?" he asks.

"Em..I covered the speakers" I say.

"Liar osi" he says laughing.

"I'm not lying" I protest.

"I'm not lying" he says mimicking me in a whiny voice.

"I sound nothing like that" I say in serious tone.

"I sound nothing like that" he says mimicking me.

"Stop this nonsense na, what is wrong with you?" I ask in slight annoyance.

"Stop this nonsense na, what is wrong with you?" he says mimicking.

"I'm cutting the call" I say.

"Oya no vex, no vex" he says.

"Why did you call me?"

"Nothing important just to hear your beautiful voice that sounds so pleasing to my ears and warms my heart and keeps me going everyday" he says.

Even though I know what he said is not the truth I smiling like an idiot thinking about it.

"Who do you think you are whining?" I ask smiling uncontrollably.

"I know your cheeks are hurting from smiling too much" he says.

"They hurt so badly" I say with heavy sarcasm.

"I like your sarcasm and you do have a beautiful voice but that's not why I called"

The blushing is starting again.

"So why did you call?" I asks.

"I'm getting to that. Don't be so pushy Naomi" he says.

"Ah, sorry oo" I say and I hear him laugh lightly.

After some minutes he speaks up "I called to say something about our kiss"

I'm not surprised, I knew he would want to say something about. Maybe I'm a bad kisser or maybe he regrets it or maybe I had bad breath.

If all these things are true, then I wonder why he came back for a second time. Maybe the guys dared him to do so.

Chai maybe I should just hang-up instead of facing this disgrace.

"Do I have your attention?" he asks.

"I guess"

"About our kiss it wasn't a mistake" he says.

This he just say wasn't as in was not?

"Yes he did you moron" my inner voice says.

"Why wasn't it a mistake?" I ask in confusion.

"What do you mean?" he asks sounding amused.

"Why don't you see the kiss as a mistake?" I ask.

"Firstly let's refer to it as our kiss and not the kiss, that's way too formal" he says.

I nod my head even though he can't see me.

"Our kiss was not a mistake, I liked it however I don't think it should repeat itself again" he says.

"I understand" I say.

"The fact I don't want it to repeat has nothing to do with you okay" he says.

"I don't know what to say"

"You don't have to say anything" he says.

I just nod, I mentally face palm myself as I remember he can't see me.

"So about our kiss, I was good wasn't I?" he asks.

I'm not about to help boost his enormous ego.

"Puh-lease, it takes two to have a good a kiss" I say.

"I know, sincerely you were great" he says.

"I know, I know" I say glowing in happiness.

"Make sure your head doesn't burst" he says with a chuckle.

Ruth barges into my room without knocking.

"Mummy is calling you" she says.

She has already adapted saying mummy that is meant to be your mummy is calling you not mummy we don't share mummy.

"I have heard, you can leave now" I say

She turns on her heels and closes my door with a bang. Mtcheww, disrespectful she goat.

"I have to go now, my mum is calling me" I say putting my phone back to my ear.

"Alright, Call me when you get back" he says.

"Okay, bye" I say.

"Bye love" he says then he hangs up.

He just called me love. Eyy see my new levels oo.

I'm about to get up when I remember my promise to Diane, this has to stop.

Mystery P.O.V

"Hello" I say putting my phone to my ear.

"Guy, when you dey go Lagos?" Kunle asks.

"Tomorrow" I say with a sigh.

I can't believe I'm leaving Ogun state tomorrow.

"You wan make I come?" Kunle asks.

It would be mad if Kunle came but I have to complete my mission first and be well grounded.

"I wish you could but you cant. When I don settle down you fi come" I say.

"No qualms, take care of yourself oo" he says.

"Sure, so how far any news?" I ask him desperation lacing my voice.

"For now, nothing. All I know is she lives in Lagos" Kunle says with a sigh.

I sigh heavily in sadness but I know Kunle will find out something soon. He has his ways.

"All right but I know you'll find out something soon" 

"For sure are you doubting me?" Kunle asks.

"Never did, never will" I say then I hang up.

Naomi, I love you as much as I hate you. You better sleep with one eye open because you don't know what's coming for you.

A/N

I really feel for Naomi, she really has no idea what's coming her way.

Aaron enjoyed their kiss, who would've thought😏😏. Maybe next chapter should be in his pov.
