I'm woken up by someone jumping on my bed, I open my eyes to see Ruth and she looks excited about something.

"Get up oo" she says sitting down beside me.

"Good morning to you to" 

"Good morning ma" she says stressing the ma.

I rub my eyes as a loud yawn escapes my mouth. "What do you want?" 

I want to go back to sleep oo, Why did this girl wake me up sef? If it's something daft, I will beat her today.

"Let's make rainbow cake" she says.

Is this girl alright at all, she did not see any other cake that is easier to prepare. It just had to be rainbow cake.

"Do we have ingredients for that?" I ask.

"Nope, we have to go out and buy" she says.

"Go and make breakfast, we'll go to the supermarket after that" I say.

"Alright" she says then she gets up and leaves.

Crazy bitch!

I get up from my bed very reluctantly.

Midterm-break has been good so far apart for some bad nights with Alex, I've been alright.

I've been taking my antidote more than often and one of the side effects is loss of appetite.

I'm already noticing it because I don't really eat anymore and my weight loss is becoming evident. My siblings are asking questions about it but I told them I was on a diet.

I go to my bathroom and brush my teeth. After that I take off my pyjamas and step into the shower.

I love the calming effect the water has on my body. I take a long and relaxing shower then I step out.

I put on a black tank top and leggings then I head downstairs.

"Good morning everyone" I say as I enter the dining room.

Alex isnt home today, he's barely at home during the day. He'll probably come back around six pm or thereabout.

"So Ruth and I are going shopping today, do you guys wanna come?" I ask the boys as I dig into breakfast.

"Shopping for what exactly?" Nathan asks.

"Baking stuff" Ruth says.

"Nice, Can I bake with you?" Moses asks.

"Yeah sure, we could all bake" I say.

"We can go after breakfast, I'll drive" Moses says.

We just came back from the super market and we bought so many things. Majority of it is stuff we don't even need.

Now I know why my mum never sent Nathan and I to buy anything alone.

"Let's get baking"!! Ruth shouts going to the kitchen.

When we got to the supermarket I just had this sudden urge to eat spring rolls so we bought ingredients for that and we decide that Ruth and I will make the cake and the boys will make the spring rolls.

We all follow after Ruth into the kitchen.

"Do you even know how to make rainbow cake?" I ask her as I wash my hands.

She shakes her head no as she arranges the ingredients on the table.

"So why do you na want to make it?" I ask.

"Haba, is it bad to try something new?" Nathan asks me.

"Help me and ask her oo" Ruth says.

"Was I talking to you?" I ask Nathan eyeing him.

"Your wahala is too much" Moses says hitting my head really hard.

"Oww" I say glaring at him.

He gives a chuckle as his response.

"I can't wait for you to go back to school" I hiss out and he just smiles sweetly.

Apparently, the strike has been called off so Moses will be going back to school soon. I'm going to miss him bad.

Who'll help me with my assignments now?

When I look at how much we play with each other and look out for each other. I wonder if this is how quickly bonds can be made.

We're so close now, it's unbelievable even to my parents.

"I'm pre heating the oven oo, let's get to work" Ruth says.

"FFO" Nathan says which earns him a glare from Ruth.

I'm reading a book on wattpad while eating some cake. It turned out much better than I expected.

Ruth is so proud of herself she feels on top of the world.

I get a text it's from Anita

Alright, let me go and get ready.

I put off my phone and rest my head. I doubt I'm going anywhere, I'm too tired.

I walk over to my cupboard, I haven't taken any pills today and I feel down and weird. Let me just take a few.

I'm about to take it when my door flies open. I stuff it in and close my wardrobe as quick as I can.

I see Ruth standing there staring at me. Mtcheww

"What were you doing?" she asks with raised eyebrows.

"I was looking for something" I say quickly.

"Okay" she says but it's obvious she isn't convinced.

"So what do you want?" I ask.

"I wanted to ask if we could have a sleep over today" she says.

"Sure we can, we'll watch movies and eat snacks and you know fun stuff" I say smiling.

"Yeah and also the boys are going out and I'm following them, wanna come?" she asks.

"Nope, I'm too tired" I say.

"More like too lazy" she says then she leaves.

I just shake my head at her and quickly take the pill before I get distracted again, then I close my wardrobe and crash on my bed.

I've not even closed my eyes when someone enters my room again and this time it's Alex what does this one want now?

"We're going out" he says.

There must be some loose screws in your head if you think I'll just be following you up and down like one servant because I don't have life sebi. Mtcheww.

"Who is we?" I ask.

"You know I hate it when you ask me stupid questions" he says with anger in his voice.

"I have somewhere I'm going" I say eyeing him inwardly.

"I know you don't so please don't vex me just get up and get ready" he says getting up.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"A party" he says the he leaves.

I go over to my wardrobe and look for something to wear.

After some minutes of frantic searching, I find the outfit I want to wear.

I put in on, it looks nice, and I put on my wig and accessories. I don't wear any make-up. I feel like going natural today.

I walk down the hall and knock on Alex's door, I hear a faint come in so I enter.

"How did you know the party dress code was all white?" he asks.

"I didn't, I just decide to wear all white" I say.

"Oh okay, let's go" he says walking out.

"We're there" he says as he parks the car.

I look at the house and it looks so familiar then it clicks this is Diane's house and apparently I'm going for her party.

We get down from the car and head inside. It's noisy as hell and Alex wandered off as soon as he walked in. I didn't even bother to ask him how he knew Diane.

I get my phone and text Bimbo

Mad, come to the kitchen

Alright

I locate her kitchen without difficulty. I spot her as soon as I enter.

"Took you long enough" she says giving me a hug.

"You lack patience, it took me like two minutes" I say after I pull away.

"Still too long, let's join the others" she says walking off.

"Wait up" I say following her.

We get to where the others are and they're busy talking they didn't even notice us.

"I'm here" I say sitting beside temi.

"Hey" she says giving me a hug.

"How are you?" I ask as I pull away.

"Naomi"! Anita shouts giving me a bear hug.

"I can't breathe" I say attempting to pull away.

She gives me one last squeeze the she pulls away.

"Your outfit fits you" Bimbo says.

"Thanks" I say giving her a small smile.

"Babe, you are losing weight oo" Temi says looking at me with a shocked expression.

"What kind of unfair world is this while others are losing weight I'm gaining" Bimbo says.

"Tell us the secret na" Anita says grinning.

"Nothing oo, just exercise" I say while inwardly praying they won't ask more questions I suck at lying.

"I find that hard to believe, lazy child like you" Temi says.

"Where is Aaron sef?" Anita asks.

"He went off with Tyrone, let me call them" Bimbo says.

"I need to use the restroom" I say getting up.

I just don't want to see Aaron that's why I went to use the restroom.

I've been here before so I know where the guest bathroom is. I walk up the stairs and locate the guest bathroom quicker and easier than I expected.

I finish up and wash my hands.

As I'm going back downstairs, I hear someone shouting from one of the rooms. I follow the noise and it leads me to Diane's room.

After some seconds of hesitation, I open the door and walk in.

I see Diane crouched up on the floor and in front of her is Alex who is breathing heavily.

"What's going on here?" I ask.

Alex turns to face me and he shoots me a glare.

"We're leaving right now, meet me outside" he says then he storms off.

I walk over to Diane who has gotten up from the floor and is now sitting on her bed.

"Happy birthday" I say smiling.

"Thanks" she says.

"I got you something" I say handing her the necklace.

I got her a necklace which I planned to give to her when school resumes but this was the bag I took the day I bought it so her luck it's here with me.

"Thank you so much, it's so pretty" she says smiling.

"I hope Alex didn't hurt you?" I ask in concern.

"Thanks to you he didn't" she says with a smile.

"How do you know Alex?" I ask in curiosity.

"He's a friend of mine" she says.

I nod but I'm not totally convinced.

"So does Alex like harass you or anything?" she asks.

I'm taken aback, what kind of question is that?

"Why do you ask?" I ask unsure of what to say.

I can't confide in Diane. No way, she'll say she won't tell anyone but I know her she just can't help herself, she must tell someone.

"I just noticed your body movements when he came close to you" she says with a shrug.

"Well, it means nothing. He doesn't harass me" I say with a smile.

"So who is he?" she asks.

This is one thing I hate about Diane, her persistence.

"He's nobody" I say.

"He doesn't seem like a nobody maybe I'll asks him myself" she says.

No, she can't do that, he'll think I told someone about him. Holy shit, I need to fix this. In that moment I came up with a very idiotic lie.

"He's my boyfriend" I blurt out.

"I knew it, I didn't know you liked older guys" she says smiling.

I just smile back as a response.

"Alex is your boyfriend?" she asks again.

"Yup, he's my boyfriend" I say.

"Naomi"

We turn around to see Aaron standing at the door. When did he come in, we left the door open so anyone could've have walked in without us knowing.

Something more important comes to my mind, What if he heard our conversation?
"I have to go" I say then I get up.

Finally, I'm done with this chapter the relief. I dont even have anything to say about it. I'm so stressed at the moment.😪😪
