Naomi's P.O.V

This is second to the last period of the day and we all begged the English teacher to give it to us as a free period so we can read for chemistry and fortunately she agreed. So we're all in the classroom cramming our butts off.

"I'm scared of this chemistry oo" Anita says looking worried.

"Don't worry na, Mr Moses said it'll be quite simple" Bimbo chirps happily.

Mumu girl! Because she's an A student in chemistry.

"You too you believe him, you don't know all these teachers lie" I say eyeing her inwardly.

"Don't mind her. She's talking because it's a subject she knows" Anita says.

"If it's physics now her whole body will be shaking" 

"If you read well you'll pass" Bimbo says which earns a loud hiss from Anita and I.

Usually when midterm break is approaching I can be classified as the happiest person earth but this term I'm far from that reason being Alex is back and school is my escape from him.

I have to scheme different ways to stay away from him all through the midterm break and trust me it's going to be hard.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts by the presence of Aaron who just took a seat beside me. He hasn't spoken to me since the incident at my house.

Also he's been acting very strange and he's ignoring me.

I asked Ayo and Bimbo what's up with him since they're the closest to him but apparently even they don't know what's going on.

"Aaron can we talk" I say whispering to him.

He doesn't say anything. He probably didn't hear me.

"Aaron" I say more audibly.

Still no answer

"Aaron"

"Aaron"

"Aaron"

"Aaron"

This guy is definitely snubbing me.

"Aaron" I say tapping him violently.

"What the fuck do you want?"!! He shouts anger booming in his voice.

I flinch at his outburst and Anita and Bimbo are also shocked by it. Everyone in the classroom just stares at us.

"I just wanted to check something in your chemistry notes" I say.

"Take it" He says throwing his note at me.

Then he gets up and leaves the class.

"Don't feel bad, he's slipping into a past phase" Bimbo says sympathy in her voice.

"Alright" I say going through his note.

I need his note because I know he always jots down everything that is said by Mr Moses during class and he also jots every single thing written on the board.

The bell rings to signify next period has started, everyone starts packing up their books so we can go to chemistry lab.

Wee file in as quietly as we can, nobody wants him to minus mark from test that we already know we will not pass.

I can literally hear everyone muttering silent prayers as he distributes the answer scripts.

"Now I will state the rules before we start" Mr Moses says.

"If you talk to anyone including me, I will minus twenty,

Don't ask me questions and don't point out errors any error I notice will be corrected in course of marking.

If you borrow anything from anyone minus twenty,

If I catch you looking in someone's work minus twenty" He says.

Nobody says anything.

"You may start" he says picking up his red pen.

God help me.

"We prevailed"!! Anita says as we leave the chemistry lab.

"I told you that it would be easy" Bimbo says smiling.

The test wasn't all that bad, it was definitely easier than I expected it to be. I actually answered all the questions completely.

Its closing time and I can't wait to get home and take a long nice shower and take a very long nap.

We go back to the class and pack our bags then we head over to art class to see the others.

"We prevailed"!! Anita shouts as Temi, Ayo and Tyron come outside.

I shake my head at her display of madness this girl is really something else.

"We also prevailed, Government was easy" Temi says.

Temi and Tyrone have been so scared to write government test, they skipped luch today to read.

"I actually answered all the questions completely" Tyrone says smiling like crazy.

He gets it, the joy of answering every question completely. That feeling of euphoria is unexplainable.

"Let's buy drinks to celebrate" Tyrone says.

Free drinks, of course we'll agree to this. We all go to the tuck shop to get the drinks Tyrone is paying for everything and Ayo is buying plantain chips for everyone.

We walk outside in happiness, chatting away I don't even think anyone noticed that Aaron wasn't here but I did.

"Where's Aaron?" I ask Ayo.

"I don't really know, I think he went home early" he says but I can tell he's unsure.

One by one, all my friend went home leaving me alone which is weird I'm usually the first person to go home or the second never the last.

It's so unusual, I've never seen the school as quiet as it is right now.

They're just a few students left in school. I bring out my phone to text my mum and ask her while I'm still in school when I spot someone, it's Aaron.

I don't think I just do. I walk over to where he's standing.

"Hey" I say avoiding eye contact.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you like that" he says.

"It's fine. I shouldn't have been so persistent" 

"It doesn't matter how persistent you were, that was rude of me" he says almost ashamedly.

"It was kind of rude" 

"I'm sorry. Am I forgiven?" He asks quietly.

"Yup, you are" I say smiling.

I notice he's about to say something but then he lips close and I see anger flash through his eyes.

"Hey babe" someone says snaking an arm around my waist.

I know that voice anywhere. It's Alex.

"What are you doing here?" I ask wiggling out of his grip and suprisingly he lets ago.

"I came to pick you up" he says smiling as if this was totally normal.

"I think I should go" Aaron says then he walks away.

What the fuck just happened? As soon as he leaves, I turn to face Alex.

"You have explaining to do" I say.

Aaron's P.O.V

He's the same guy from the pictures yesterday that confirms it. Diane was right. I was about to ask her when he came.

"Aaron"!! My dad shouts from down the hall.

I forgot he was even around. The man is just a pain in the neck. I walk to his room, sluggishness in each step. I knock twice and wait for a response.

"Come in"

I enter his room, it's as dark and gloomy as his heart. I  sit on the couch in his room and wait for him to say something.

I look around the room, the last time I was here was the last time he was around. I don't even remember the last time he was around.

I sight a picture of my mum and it brings tears to my eyes. Mrs Sola Adenuga, beautiful, intelligent, caring and loving woman.  

She passed away six years ago due to my Dad's numerous beatings. She suffered from a concussion which later became severe leading to her death.

I loved her so much and she was taken away from me in a very painful way.

"Good evening Sir" I say my patience growing thin.

"You've been waiting for me to greet you sebi?" he asks looking up from his phone.

"No sir, I'm sorry sir" 

"I called you to inform you that I'm going back to California tomorrow" he says.

I wonder what you want me to do with this piece of information, I really don't care how you move in and out of the house it's your business.

Every since my mother died, my dad became so distant and uninvolved in our lives. We grew up fast, by we I mean my twin brother and I.  We learnt to take care of ourselves, we got used to lavish spending and a wealthy but tough lifestyle.

I learnt to make myself happy and make others around me happy, it gives me inner peace to see people around me smiling because it was something I craved but never got and I know how I felt it would kill me if someone I cared about was feeling that way.

"Okay sir" I say.

"You can leave" he says going back to his phone.

Alex P.O.V

Diane told me that Aaron didn't seem too convinced so we constructed this plan to make sure that he sees me with Naomi.

He's my only obstacle, once he's out of the way completely.

Naomi will be mine for the taking.

And I can't wait.

Naomi's P.O.V

"come here baby" Alex says grinning at me.

"Get out"!! I say.

But my voice sounds like a whisper, I can barely hear it.

"you can run darling but you cant hide, don't you see I always finding" he says getting close to me.

I jump off my bed.

I throw my shoe at him, my lamp, my alarm clock, everything i can possibly find but he's not backing down.

"A few hits wont stop me" he says laughing bitterly.

I'm sweating profusely, my heart is beating faster than normal and tears are over pouring from my eyes.

"You'll never get away with this" I say.

"You say it every time and I always do" he says laughing

I sit up sweating  exuberantly, I just had another nightmare about that bastard called Alex.

I get up and go to the bathroom and I wash my face.

I sit on my bed staring into space then I make a decision.

I know only one person that believes everything I say.

I'm going to tell Aaron.

With that in mind, I close my eyes and fall back to sleep

A/N 

I feel this chpter is crappy. What about you, do you feel it's crappy?

But i do know for sure that it's short. Next chapter will be longer.

Alex and Diane seem to be having their way and I feel bad for Aaron.😪
