Aaron and I spoke and texted all through the weekend, I was just wishing the weekend would never end but sadly Monday had to come with its big head and spoil my mood.

I have to admit, I'm beginning to develop serious feelings for Aaron and it shouldn't be because with boys come trouble and trouble is something I seriously don't want in my life after past experiences.

"See what you've done to us. Naomi what is wrong with you?" My mum asked shouting at me in frustration.

I stared at her with an expressionless face which was wet with tears by the way.

"What are we going to do? Everything is gone" she shouts.

What do you want me to say ehhn? I know it's my fault we're in this mess.

I'm just confused, I have destroyed my life, my brother's life and my mom's life.

I don't deserve this gift called life anymore.

I was fooled by sweet words and actions and then I let everyone down.

"What about the emergency account?" Nathan asked my mum.

"We have money there, I think I'll use it and start a branch in Lagos" my mum said with a sigh.

"Does that mean we'll move to Lagos?" I asked my mum in dismay.

"Yes, that's the only way to freedom" My brother said.

"After everything you have done, Ogun state is too toxic for our habitation and you people can't even school here anymore" she says then she gets up leaving Nathan and I in our thoughts.

"Sorry I ruined your life" I said to my brother.

He chuckles lightly.

"You didn't do anything, I did what I did because I wanted to and now I'm facing consequences" he said.

"I'm still sorry because I triggered you to do it" I said.

"You don't have to be sorry we're both in trouble" he said.

"I'd rather be in trouble alone" I said in a serious voice.

"We're stronger together and you know it" he said giving me a hug.

Then he went upstairs probably to pack.

I should start packing too.

Why did I think about this now anytime I think about boys it must always be accompanied by this painful thought?

"Naomi"!!

I'm pulled out of my thoughts by Bimbo.

"What?" I ask raising my head from my table.

I watch her initial emotion leave her face and it's replaced with concern.

"Are you okay?" she asks with worry filled eyes

"Yeah, why are you asking?"

"You're crying" she says cleaning my tears.

I didn't even realize.

Bimbo is such a compassionate friend, she'll always be there whenever you need her. She's an absolute darling.

I quickly wipe my tears. "I'm fine"

"You don't look fine" she says.

"Excuse me" I say then I get up.

I run down the hallway and enter the female restroom. I wash my face and clean it with the paper towels that put there for us to use.

I come out of the restroom as soon as I'm sure that I look okay.

Aaron's P.O.V

I'm coming from the Physics lab to submit an assignment and heading back to my class when I bump into someone.

I'm about to react when I see it's just Naomi.

She looks distance she's not her usual bubbly self. Which is weird she's usually a very happy person.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Nothing" she says giving me a small smile.

"Where's my hug?" I ask her opening my hands wide.

When we chatted on Sunday she said she'd hug me so she's owing me a hug and I was owing her data and I bought it for her she better give me my hug.

I want her to be close to me again, I've been thinking about her since what went down at Bimbo's house and I can't seem to stop.

"Naomi, where's my hug?" I ask again still opening my hands wide.

She seems to be looking around for someone. She doesn't answer me she just continues searching.

"What are you doing?" I ask her.

"I'm looking for your hug" she says looking behind me.

I smile at her in amusement.

"Aaron, I'm sorry but I can't seem to find it" she says.

"Haha, very funny" I say with sarcasm.

"Absolutely hilarious" she replies matching my tone.

I shoot her a glare just as the bell rings.

"We have further maths now" she sighs

I groan in annoyance.

"I'll probably be late by like ten minutes, cover for me please" I say giving her my cutest facial expression which I only use when I'm begging Bimbo's mum for something.

"I'll tell him you have diarrhoea and you're in the toilet" she says then she runs off.

"What the heck Naomi" I shout after her.

I go back to the class and get my book to finish up my assignment. I'm solving away furiously when someone taps my shoulder.

I look up to see Diane. Did I mention I hate her? Well I do.

It wasn't always like this, we were good friends till the incident. It's a long gist another day folks.

"What do you want?" I ask her in a bored tone.

"Nothing just checking up on you" she says sitting down next to me.

She's too close for my liking.

"Well, I'm fine you can go now" I say moving away from her.

"What's up with you and Naomi?"

So this is what this is about. So this girls has the nerve to come and ask me such a question.

"Nothing and even if there is it's none of your business" I say in disgust.

"I just want you to stay away from my friend" she huffs in anger.

"I've heard you can leave" I snap

She sighs in frustration but she leaves.

Everything about her pisses me off especially after the incident.

Naomi's P.O.V

It's 7:31pm and my friends just left my house after a very long study session as midterm tests are approaching and even though we joke around a lot we're all very serious minded people.

I'm lying down on my bed staring at the ceiling when someone knocks at my door.

"Come in" I say.

Nathan comes in and sits on my bed.

"What's up?" I ask him sitting up.

"That guy in the blue shirt today, was he Aaron Adenuga?" Nathan asks.

Wow, how on earth did he know Aaron Adenuga? It's not as if he was some celebrity or something.

"Yes he was"

"Please can you stop talking to him" my brother pleads.

"Ahan, why?" I ask feeling confused.

"I hate him" Nathan says in a serious voice.

"Haba? How can you hate someone you don't know?"

"I have a bad feeling and you know my instincts never lie" he says.

That was true. Nathan's instincts have never failed him.

"I have heard" I sigh half-heartedly.

"Naomi, I'm serious" he says.

Something is different about him and pain is evident in his eyes. I wonder what happened to him.

"I have heard" I say more seriously.

He just nods and like that normal Nathan is back.

"How are you liking the adjustment?" he asks me.

"I'm hating it" I spit out.

"I haven't really talked to Ruth but Moses isn't too bad" he says

"That Ruth of a girl, she's very rude and daft" I say with a loud hiss.

He laughs loudly. "Aunty calms na"

Ruth barges into my room without knocking.

"Are you mad or do you suffer amnesia? How many times will I tell to knock before entering before it will enter your thick skull?" I ask.

"I'm not mad, I don't know why you are shouting at me oo because of ordinary door" she says.

"I'm very sure you are mad, foolish girl"

You won't imagine this girl had the guts to eye me.

"You unsolicited piece of shit, in my mother's house again" I shout resisting the urge to slap her.

"It is our mother's house" she says making emphasis on ours.

I'm about to dash her correct slap when Moses comes into view.

"What's going on?" he asks.

"Help me and ask her oo" Ruth says but he glares at her.

"Your sister lacks manners" I say going back to sit beside Nathan.

He looks at me for more explanation and I back up and tell him about Ruth's behaviour towards me.

"Ruth, Naomi is older than you, you have to respect her" he says facing her.

She just shrugs indifferently.

"You're proving stubborn. Alright, I'll tell dad and you know what he said he'll do if you annoy Naomi or Nathan" he says in a warning voice.

"I'm sorry" she says to me.

"Sorry for yourself"! I shout eyeing her.

"You people are disturbing oo, four of you will sleep outside"!! My mum shouts from down the hall.

"Okay ma"!! We shout in unison.

We all share the same expression completely creeped out by the fact we all shouted at the same time.

A/N

That Ruth of a girl she needs correct beating from Naomi. She lacks manners.

I wonder why Nathan hates Aaron or is there more that he's not telling us?🤔

I wonder the incident Aaron is talking about is that why bimbo hates Diane so much?
