Prologue

Jungkook checked the time on his phone.

23:11

His eyelids felt heavy and his nose clammy. There wasn't much reason for staying awake but he did.
He looked to his right. His hyung, Hoseok, was out resting his head on his sleeping neighbour, Jin. Hoseok's hair had parted in the middle - the maknae always found his choice in hairstyle amusing, especially when it resembled curtains, giving his face a funny shape. A seat in front emitted a phone's glare, probably Yoongi's. This hyung was known for sleeping; he napped all the time in the studio. Obviously planes made him uncomfortable. He never slept while onboard.
Jungkook couldn't see who else was awake. Jimin would most likely be asleep. So would Taehyung. He wasn't sure about Namjoon who was seated behind him.

The window on the left of the youngest revealed a dark sky. Clouds were dotted beneath the plane like sheep in a deep blue field. Jungkook viewed the world different from the others. Jin always said that he was artistic but the maknae believed that it was something else. He liked being quiet, the idea of knowing, keeping secrets and information, like a computer. Of course he was more than a computer - he showed emotion. He loved his hyungs, his family and his fans.

"Jungkook?"
It was Yoongi. How did he know Jungkook was awake? Jungkook shuffled forward so he was perched on the edge of his seat.
"Yeah?" he whispered. His hyung turned around to face him. "Can you not sleep, hyung?"
Suga growled and put his phone away in his back pocket.
"No. I hate flying. It's not natural," Yoongi moaned, "Why are you awake?"
Jungkook didn't know. He normally slept on planes but something was different about this trip. Maybe it was nerves or just pure excitement. BTS's last stay in Los Angeles proved to be one of the best experiences of his life so excitement was his best guess.

The plane gave a violent jerk, causing Hoseok to wake up with a strange choking noise. Suga in front sat back in his seat suddenly. Jungkook could see him clinging to his arm rests, breathing sharply.
"Yoongi, it's alright. It's most likely turbulence."
Hoseok spoke, sleep still in his voice, and his rather puffy face, "Are we landing?"
Jungkook shook his head, still concerned about Suga who was bracing his legs against the seat in front of him.
"Hyung..." Jungkook reassured him, "Its okay now."
Hoseok's head fell back against his head rest and soon into sleep.
"Jungkook, you should sleep," Yoongi said through gritted teeth.
The maknae agreed and laid his forehead against the plane's wall, gazing off into the vast velvety sky beneath them. The clouds had gone now.
