Chapter 15: Another Crazy Night
So this scene, as well as being comic relief, is also setting up something vitally important. =) Meant to have it done last night but I got a really bad headache, so I ended up going to bed. >.< kinda still have one, so I apologize if this is terrible. >.< Anyhow, hope you all enjoy. =P
Video on the side is of said Kronwall, so for those of you who haven't seen it, you'll know what I mean. lol It's just one example of what Niklas Kronwall can do. =P And the pic... well... it's just fun. Something I've thought about doing on more than one occasion while watching the games. =P

Adrianna sat on the couch, Tom's arm draped over her shoulders holding her close. A month had passed since they had become official and they were only finding their time together more enjoyable. Sitting next to them were Rupert, Marisa, and Matt, all of which had decided to join the couple to watch the Detroit Red Wings game that night. The five of them had been having a great time, not to mention probably keeping the other tenants awake. Although the game started at 7:30 where Adrianna was from, it didn't start until half past midnight in London due to the time zone difference. Now it was well passed two in the morning and they were all still wide awake.
"Dude! Did you just see that?!" Rupert shouted at the television. "He just leveled that guy!"
"Uh yea!" Marisa yelled, although she was sitting right next to him. "It's what Kronwall does!"
Adrianna shook her head, straightening out her t-shirt. "Yea, he does that all the time, I promise. I've only been watching this team since I was barely out of diapers."
"I can see why," Tom added. "They're great!"
Adrianna smiled. "Most nights they are; but just like everyone else, they have their off days. I'm only hoping we can keep this up through the rest of the playoffs."
"Oh I'm sure they will," Tom answered. "Especially if... what's that guy's name? The one who's scored twice already?"
"Datsyuk," Adrianna answered, pointing enthusiastically to the name on her shirt.
"Thanks... especially if Datsyuk keeps it up!" Tom finished his sentence, stumbling a bit over the pronunciation of the name.
Before anyone else could add to the conversation, the front door to the apartment busted open and a very upset Valarie sauntered into the room, slamming the door shut behind her. The girl was red in the face and had noticeable tears streaming down her cheeks. Adrianna knew her friend well, so she was hesitant to ask her anything. It was likely if she asked she was going to get her head chewed off, so the girl let her friend go down the hallway without saying anything to her.
Marisa glanced over at her. "What do you suppose is wrong with her?"
Adrianna shrugged. "Heck if I know. It could be anything from Spongebob being cancelled or she's fighting with Seth again."
"Which of those seems more likely though?" Marisa raised an eyebrow.
"Seth," Adrianna sighed. She looked back at the game for a minute before looking back at her friend. "Should I go talk to her?"
Marisa gave her the look. "You won't miss much of the game. Nothing will happen. Believe me. We got this!"
Adrianna gave Tom a quick kiss on the cheek before she stood. "I'll be right back."
The girl wandered down her hallway, trying to find where Val could've possibly gone. There weren't many options for hiding, so Adrianna was quickly able to narrow it down to one of very few places. The girl heard hushed sobs coming from the end of the hallway, so she headed to her bedroom. Adrianna peered around the door of her room, only to find Val lying on her bed, holding a pillow close to her as she cried into it.
Adrianna approached the crying blonde with caution. She gently took a seat on her bed, resting her hand on Val's shoulder. "Are you okay Val?" she asked, though she was afraid of the answer she was going to get.
The blonde girl sat up, immediately glaring at Adrianna. "Does it look like I'm okay?"
"Well, honestly no, that's why I asked," Adrianna responded. "I thought you might like to talk about whatever happened, but if you don't want to that's fine too..." Adrianna's voice trailed off as she looked away from her friend.
Adrianna acted like she was going to stand, causing Val to grab her wrist. "No... I need your help right now..."
"Well what is it?" Adrianna asked, pushing herself back onto her bed so that she was sitting against the wall.
Val took Adrianna's hand and wiped her face with it. Adrianna yanked her hand back, admittedly not thrilled that her hand had been used as a tissue. It was nothing new; Val had done the same thing when Snape died in the final Harry Potter movie. When the girl had finally composed herself enough, she said, "Seth broke up with me."
For some reason, Adrianna was not surprised by that statement. The girl had predicted this outcome months ago, but she was hoping it would've been Val who had ended it. "Why did he do that?" she inquired.
"He said he was sick of me hanging out with Matt and that he didn't feel like I was even dating him anymore since I moved here," Val sniffled. "And he found some other girl that he supposedly likes a lot."
"Well, that's positively ridiculous," Adrianna agreed with her, even though she was glad that he was finally out of the picture. "Like seriously Val. He's really not worth you getting upset about. He's just a jerk."
"How can you tell me that when you did the same thing with Matthias?" Val countered.
"The difference being I had been with Matthias for almost two years; you've been with Seth for not even half a year," Adrianna opposed. "I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about them. Regardless to any of that, you deserve better than him, whether you want to believe that or not."
Adrianna stared intently at her friend for several moments before Val said anything. "You're right," she said quietly. "Can I use your shower? And borrow some pajamas?"
"Uh... sure?" Adrianna responded, though it sounded more like a question than an answer. "You know where everything is."
Val immediately hugged her friend as a huge roar of cheering came from the living room. "I'll join you guys when I'm done, mmkay?"
"Alright," Adrianna said. "Don't do anything stupid." With that, she left her friend in her room and went back to the living room where the rest of her friends were still celebrating another goal. She plopped back down on the couch next to Tom, who once again put his arm around her. "So who scored?"
"Datsyuk!" Marisa squealed. "He got his hat trick!"
Adrianna suddenly felt angry that she had missed her favorite player's second hat trick in his career. But she shook the feeling; she had missed it to help her friend. "Yay," she said half-heartedly.
Tom immediately noticed her depressed state. "You alright sweetie?"
"It's just Val," Adrianna rolled her eyes slightly, noticing the shower had started. "She's all depressed cause Seth broke up with her. She seriously wiped her face with my hand."
All of her friends looked at her with slightly disgusted faces. "Is she okay?" Marisa asked hesitantly. "I mean, she looked like a nervous wreck."
Adrianna shrugged. "I guess considering the circumstances she's alright. I'm guessing she's staying the night since she's going to borrow my pajamas. Hopefully this shower calms her down a bit. Her moods are swinging terribly right now." She took a deep breath before resting her head against Tom's chest, averting her attention back to the game.
For a while, all Adrianna heard was the announcer on the TV, Tom's gentle breathing, and Rupert munching on various bags of chips. She had almost forgotten the incident with Valarie until she heard the bathroom door fling open, hitting the wall. Moments later, Valarie was standing in front of the TV, soaking wet, and wearing nothing but a towel. She was holding a lacey black bra with her thumb and index finger, as if it was disgusting. Adrianna immediately was embarrassed to admit it was hers.
"I know this is yours, Dree," she said matter-of-factly.
"Yea, it is," Adrianna answered, her face turning bright pink. The last thing she wanted to show her boyfriend and his friends right now was her bra. "It was on the back of the door. Why did you move it?"
"Because you shouldn't be leaving your undergarments in the bathroom for everyone to see!" Valarie shouted. "We have company, and I'm sure you don't want the guys seeing this!"
Adrianna rolled her eyes. "Too late now that you've done brought it out for everyone to see. Thanks for showing them my intimates. I so appreciate it."
The blonde girl stomped off back towards the bathroom, causing a huge uproar of laughter from everyone but Adrianna. She was had never been more embarrassed in her life. Her friend seriously just had shown the guy she liked (and his friends) her undergarments. Adrianna buried her face in Tom's chest, hiding her face from all of her friends.
"I would dare say she's feeling better," Marisa laughed.
Adrianna didn't move her face. "Yea, I would dare say." She felt Tom touch her chin, making her look up at him. She stared into his aqua blue eyes for a moment before he spoke.
"Don't worry; I think it was cute," he said quietly before he kissed her.
Of course, this caused Rupert and Matt to whistle. "Of course he liked it!" Rupert teased. "Now he knows what he's got to work with."
Adrianna rolled her eyes. This was going to be a crazy long night...
