Chapter Ten ~ What Happens When Feels Hit You So Dam Hard

Amy Taylor POV

After I had watched the video Alex had shown Sophia, something happened inside of me. I felt like grabbing Percy and Annabeth and forcing them to kiss. Wait, what?

I looked down at my plate and realised that it had filled up with food. Pancakes. For some reason they were blue with these weird quote thingys on them. 'As long as we're together.'

Okay, things were definitely weird. I quickly stuffed three pancakes in my face before slipping away from the table. Angelina and Nakura were talking about something called 'Fanfiction' while the others were either eating or drawing up pictures of couples.

I slipped away to the exit where I walked out into the Jump. Not knowing what to expect, I leaped off the edge and shut my eyes. When I landed, my eyes stayed closed. Then I opened them.

I was in a huge room that kind of reminded the training room in the Dauntless headquarters in Divergent. In the far corner, there was a boxing ring with some bags hanging near it. In another corner sat a table full of weapons of every kind: there were swords, knives, hammers, axes, guns bows and even chainsaws. (Not going to get all complicated with the different types of these weapons.)

There was a shooting range for the guns and bows which I was eager to try out. A bunch of rolled up mats lay pressed up against a wall besides a knife throwing range and a huge screen with a bunch of music tracks.

My hand trailed to the knife sheaf at my belt and I pulled it out. This morning, I had figured out that the bow that my dad must've given me could turn into a throwing knife, and the quiver into a special bracelet on my wrist. Wanting to test out the knife, I walked over to a line in front of the knife throwing boards, drew my arm back and got ready. Then I pushed my arm forwards and I released the knife. It soared through the air and hit the target board right on the bullseye.

How I did it on my first time I'll never know, but it landed on the board with a thud. Then the red charm on my bracelet started to light up. "Whoa!" I cried, as the matching rem gem on the knife hilt lit up too and the knife soared back to my hand so that I was holding it again.

"Wow." I murmured, throwing the knife again and then pulling it back to my hand. After a while I got bored, so I decided to see how the knife actually works. I sat down on the floor and pressed the red gem and it turned into the bow. For a long time I studied it, feeling the smooth wood and the carved symbols. But what puzzled me the most was that there was no string. I pressed the gem on the bracelet and it turned into my quiver, but there were no arrows.

Confused, I pulled the quiver off my back and laid it next to my bow. I studied both of them for a few minutes before noticing the red gems. There was one on the handle of the bow which I assumed was to turn it back into a dagger. Another red gem was on the quiver as well. Then I noticed the little green gem on the bottom on the quiver. Pressing it, my eyes lit up as the quiver filled up with arrows and a string appeared on the bow.

But this string was kind of like a beam of light. It was gold and kind of made the bow look more -- well, godly. I swung the quiver over my back and picked up my bow before walking over to the archery range. Then I placed the arrow onto the string and held my bow high. I pulled the string back so it touched my cheek and got ready to release.

"Hey!" Someone yelled. I jumped and fired the arrow, but it landed on one of the outer rings. Whirling around, I saw the girl who helped Brooke locate the STS. Her black hair was swept into a bun on her head and she was holding a dagger.

"Hi, um..." My mind raced as I tried to remember her name.

"Asaneth." She greeted.

Then suddenly Sophia, Ashley and Penelope appeared in the room. Angelina, Alex, Nakura and Katey followed.

"Whoa." Angelina commented as she observed the training room.

"Anyone thinking about Dauntless?" Penelope asked.

"Yup." Alex nodded.

Sophia went over to a boxing bag and clenched her fists. Then she swung her arm at a bag and hit it with so much force, the bag swung backwards. Angelina went over to the bags as well there while Alex and Nakura pulled out their swords and started sparring. Penelope came over and grabbed a bow and quiver and started shooting.

Asaneth and Ashley went over to a bookshelf that I hadn't noticed before, each pulled out a book and sat down in the middle of the boxing ring reading. I walked over to the screen that controlled the sound system and selected a track before pressing play.

Sophia and Penelope immediately perked up. But it was Penelope who started singing.

"Are you, are you
Coming to Thalia's tree
Where a girl died trying to save her family
Strange things did happen here

If we met at midnight in Thalia's dam tree.

Where the number who survived was only three.

Where she told them to run, so they could be free.
Strange things did happen here

If we met at midnight in Thalia's dam tree.

"Are you, are you
Coming to Thalia's tree
Where Zeus turned her, into a dam pine tree.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight in Thalia's dam tree."

Alex and Asaneth looked up from their books and started slowly clapping. "'Let us find the dam snackbar.'" Nakura recalled.

"I need to get a new dam tee-shirt." Ashley sighed dreamily.

"Dam?" Penelope asked.

"Dam." Everyone besides Sophia and I agreed.

"FEELS!" Alex sobbed, dropping her sword and throwing herself on the ground.
