The first thing I remember is darkness.But it was a calm darkness,a comforting darkness.Then there was light.It was so bright that I started crying.I felt gentle hands lift me in the air.I knew he was my dad.As he cradled me,I saw his face.He had caring,purple eyes that matched his scales and curved horns.He then walked over to were my mother lay so she could see me.She too had purple scales.She also had emerald green eyes and had straight horns ,as did I.She stared at me.
"She has beautiful blue eyes,"She exclaimed weak.Lets call her Serine.I tried to say thank you,but of course,I was only a few minutes old,so I just made a small happy noise.She smiled.

I woke up on a floating ice berg.It all came rushing back.A large storm had hit the dragon island.We knew a huge storm surge was about to hit the island when ore beaches went dry..The adult dragons could hold on whereas the hatchlings could not ,so the others ran to their parents.I couldn't get to mine in time.I got swept away as the surge left.My parents tried to save me but another surge hit,holding them prisoners to the island.The scene played over and over in my head.It didn't stop till one of my tears froze and plink on the ground.I wiped my eyes, circled around and plopped down.I closed my eyes but never slept.I hadn't eaten for days,I was starving.If I didn't eat soon I would literally starve.Even though I had floated far from the island near the pole,I the water was still ice cold,bit I dove in anyway.I spotted a school of fish.I am below them,careful not to cast a shadow.Then I swerved up and caught some.I dragged them to the surface,onto the iceberg and gobbled them down.Except for the last three that shoved under the ice to keep them fresh.The fish were tasteless.I hated polar fish.Although the ones near the dragon island were always healthy and tasted like well, fish.But these ones tasted like water.Which makes sense because they live in water but still.I was about to go to sleep with a full stomach when I herd a creak.Then a ship came into view.I hoped they would miss my iceberg bit of course,they hit it. I quickly grabbed onto the hull of the ship with a thud.Then I started to climb.CLANG!CLANG!CLANG!The crew on board(really just a happy couple) leaned over the edge.They saw me clench the side of the boat,crying,tired and in need of a home.They reached out and grabbed me,then leaned back over the railing so that if I fell it was onto the boat deck.I struggled at first.Then I realized they weren't going to harm me.So I snuggled in his arms.He was warm,and had caring eyes like my dad.She had a nice and gentle voice.They seemed like a nice couple.A couple that could become my family.Them a cold wind blew.I scrunched  up to stay warm.They both have  a little chuckle. Then they walked me into the dining room.I made a noise of happiness at the thought of food, other than those tasteless fish I had eaten up till now.
