Chapter 2: Deathday and a new Friend
Third Person POV
Y/n sat on his bed, flipping through his notebook, when the dorm door swung open. His so called "teammates" filed in, unusually cheerful.
Alexander: "Yo, Y/n!" One of them called out.
Sarah: "We're going on a hiking trip tomorrow. You should come with us. It'll be fun." She says with a smile.
Y/n blinked, surprised. They never invited him anywhere. But the smiles on their faces seemed genuine, so he nodded.
Y/n: "Sure, I'll come." He said with a small smile.
He was starting to wonder if they have changed now. Tomorrow's trip will probably change their relationship as a team. As he was processing all this, he had an uneasy feeling growing within him, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen tomorrow.
TIMESKIP
The hike was long but pleasant. They joked and laughed as if nothing had ever been wrong between them. Y/n felt his guard lowering. Maybe they had changed. But that uneasy feeling lingering, he couldn't shake off that feeling, as they heading up the hill to the mountain.
By the time they reached the cliff, the sunset bathed the landscape in gold. Y/n stood at the edge, admiring the view.
Y/n: "This is amazing," He murmured.
Alexander: "Yeah," one of them said, his voice sharp.
Alexander: "Too bad it's wasted on you."
Y/n turned, confused. Their expressions had hardened.
Helen: "You really thought we liked you?" another sneered.
Sarah: "You're pathetic."
Before Y/n could respond, a shove sent him tumbling backward. The wind roared in his ears as he fell, betrayal cutting deeper than the rocks below.
Y/n lay broken and bleeding at the bottom of the cliff, the world fading in and out of focus. His breathing was shallow, each gasp feeling like fire in his chest. Just as his vision blurred completely, he caught sight of something moving toward him.
A strange, white, gooey creature slithered out from the shadows, its body glowing faintly in the moonlight. It stopped a few feet away, its form shifting and bubbling as if uncertain. Then it moved closer, almost hesitantly, and tilted what appeared to be its head.
???: "head" It said as it studied Y/n.
The creature pulsed with soft, warm light, as though sensing his life slipping away.
???: "He's still alive... barely," a strange, echoing voice came from the creature, though its form had no discernible mouth.
???: "But this body... so fragile, so weak. Yet... there is potential." It said as it studied him.
The gooey mass slid closer, wrapping itself around Y/n's broken body. He weakly groaned, too far gone to resist or even comprehend what was happening.
The creature began merging with him, its glowing essence seeping into his wounds.
Y/n's eyes shot open, glowing faintly white as a sharp, electric pain coursed through his body.
Y/n: "W-what's... happening?" he croaked, his voice trembling.
The creature began to cover his body and healed every broken wound.
???: "I am saving you," The creature's voice echoed in his mind.
Y/n was shocked to hear a voice in his head, he wonder if it was god. But the voice sounded too deep to be anything like that.
???: "But you and I are now one. Together, we will be stronger."
Y/n felt his broken bones realign, his torn muscles stitching themselves back together. The pain dulled, replaced by an odd sensation of power. He sat up slowly, looking at his now-healed hands, which faintly glowed like the creature's form.
Y/n: "What the hell!?" He said as he was starting to freak out.
His once broken body was now no longer broken, his body was now completely healed. There was no blood on the ground and he was completely fine. Slowly he walks over and sits down a large rock. Once he sits down, he tries to process everything now, as he was thinking a white tendril comes. And then forms a small white head with jagged black outline eyes.
It's head almost looked like a skull but alien like. It stared directly at Y/n once he noticed it looking at him. Y/n didn't know what to do or say because he had no idea what he was looking at or what was looking at him. He couldn't even describe the fear that he was feeling right now.
Y/n: "What... what are you?" He whispered.
???: "I am Poison, I'm a symbiote," The creature replied.
The tendril White head slowly moves forward until his face was inches away from Y/n's.
Y/n: "W-hat do you want from me?" He asked.
Poison: "I need a host to survive, and you needed me to live. Now, we are bonded." It said as it moves around Y/n.
Y/n watched as the symbiote moved to the other side of him. As he was looking at this strange creature talking to him, something was still on his mind.
Poison: "I saw your memories, your so-called teammates betrayed you, they brought you out here to get rid of you."
Y/n clenched his fists, feeling energy thrumming through him.
Y/n: "They left me to die," he muttered, his voice hardening.
He now realized that they tricked him, they only brought him out here so they can get rid of him. At this point he had had it, he had it with everyone treating him like trash, and he was done being everyone's personal punching bag. He was done letting everyone walk over him like he was nothing.
Y/n: "They'll pay for what they did." He said with anger in his voice.
The creature's voice hummed in agreement.
Poison: "Then let us climb. Let us rise above them."
Before Y/n could say anything, the creature slowly went back within him, and before he knew it a white goo starts to cover his body. As the white goo covered his body, a few black tendrils came out from his chest.
The white goo substance was now fully covering his body. Once he was fully covered, they stood up now taller than before. The black tendrils covered his chest to form a large spider symbol.
Poison: "We shall have revenge on those who wronged us both." He said before taking a few steps then jumping high in the air.
Y/n: "I will make them regret everything they have done to me!" He shouted inside.
Poison: "That is the deal, we will make everyone pay."
The two began to make their way back to Haven academy to make everyone pay the price.
To be continued...
