Summary: Dabi doesn't think that he can be saved but after Hawks has been with him through so much the hero starts to think that the Villan might actually have a chance. If only Dabi would take his hand.

If Hawks had to describe his first meeting with Dabi he would call it strange. They definitely did not get along on the right foot. It wouldn't be till a few months later when Hawks saw the scarred villain chilling on a rooftop by himself.

"What are you doing? Aren't you tired?" Hawks asked, knowing full well it was around three in the morning.

"What are you doing here? I didn't think you were invited," Dabi said as he stared at the bird hero, taking another sip of his beer.

"I saw you by yourself. Thought you were lonely," Hawks said as he sat down taking one of the beers, and started to drink.

This would have to be the night they first truly bonded.

A few months later and Hawks still hasn't met the rest of the league, but somehow he and Dabi had gone from meeting up to rooftops to hooking up in the hero's apartment.

It would only be his luck that their first fight would come from this.

"Fuck you! All you care about is being a fucking hero! You're not actually a villain! Wait maybe you are after all you do is lie to me," Dabi screamed at him and it was at this moment that Hawks was glad he had the whole top floor to himself.

"Dabs! Babe, you need to calm down! All I said was I had to meet up with Endeavor during the next conference. Calm down and we can talk this out through snuggles and ice cream," Hawks said as he opened his arms with a kind smile on his face.

"There you go again pretending like you love me. I know what you think. You think just because you're the number two hero you're convinced that you above me," Dabi screamed at him and it was clear to Hawks that Dabi was not having a good day today mentally.

The fight luckily got resolved but another one was bound to happen just a few months late after Hawks did some digging, not like he meant to he was just curious.

"When will I meet the rest of the league?" Hawks asked Dabi in one of their many alleyways after all apartments and late-night rooftops were meant for other conversations.

"When I can tell Shigaraki you can be trusted," Dabi said and that honestly broke Hawk's heart just a little bit.

"C'mon Dabi you know I've never been one for doing things half-assed," Hawks told him.

"Don't worry I remember the nomu incident," Dabi said with a glare.

"You make that sound like it was fully my fault. I was with Endeveraor. I was in the public eye. I had to save those people," Hawks said.

"You could've ran. Killing HIM was all that mattered that day," Dabi screamed, blue flames appearing without warning.

"You only ever care about Endeavor. You don't really care about the league or being a villain. I've seen you save kids when they've called for help before," Hawks started but was interrupted.

"I've always known you were a shitty spy but did you really think that you could 'save' me," Dabi asked with a skeptical look on his face.

"Fine, I'm a shitty spy. But I'm here to save you and I'll be here forever. If you would just take my hand I can prove your innocence. I can be your knight in shining armor," Hawks said with a hopeful look.

"Sorry but no can do bird brain I ain't no Cinderella," Dabi said as he was about to turn around to escape this conversation.

"Please Dabi just have some faith that you can be saved," Hawks shouted as he grabbed Dabi's shoulder.

"You think you're a hero," Dabi said as he grabbed Hawk's hand and maybe it did hurt him seeing Hawks flinch at the pain but he has a point to prove.

"And they'll tell you you are! After all, you're number two right behind that piece of shit. They call you stoic and handsome. I mean look at how far you've come," Dabi shouted at Hawks, knowing Hawks is only 22 and already in the top ten, but when he said it Hawks was looking guilty as he was reminded about his days at the hero commission.

"You think you're a villain, but I know you're not. Underneath all that angst and anger is a beating human heart," Hawks was trying to say but was surprised when Dabi interrupted him with his own phrasing, "a dying broken heart."

"Hey what about the lonely little boy," Dabi screamed.

"I'm sorry!" Hawks screamed back but Dabi wasn't listening.

"What about her monster who prevailed," Dabi screamed as a picture of Endevaror erupted into his mind.

"I'm sorry!" Hawks screamed. Hawks knew he had nothing to apologize for, but did he.

"They never came to save my world!" Dabi screamed as pictures of other heroes, much older than himself or Hawks popped into his mind, but also social workers and detectives who ignored what was being done behind closed doors.

"What about me!" Dabi asked in anger.

"What about us?" Hawks asked back and it was at this moment that Dabi could see tears forming in the bird's eyes.

"I recognize that you're upset. I know that they did you wrong," Hawks started to say and he knew he had to choose his words carefully or Dabi might actually burn him alive.

"Oh you know nothing of me," Dabi said with a harsh glare.

"Touya you have to trust me! Believe me," Hawks begged.

"What did you call me?" Dabi asked surprised.

"Touya. It's your name after all. You're real one," Hawks said and Dabi felt himself go into a panic as he started to pick at his already bad staples.

"Stop! Dabi you have to stop! That won't stop the hurt you feel for long," Hawks begged him and maybe Dabi should listen to his brain when Hawks is the only other human to bring him out of a panic attack.

"This is over Hawks and my name is Dabi. Touya is dead."

"Stop! We don't have to end like this! Look me in the eyes!" Hawks practically begged.

"Here comes the hero complex," Dabi said as he pushed Hawks away.

"You call yourself a villain," Hawks said as he dragged Dabi into a hug.

"I know I'm a villain," Dabi responded.

"But I know it's a disguise," Hawks said. "I know you care for your siblings. I know you care for Toga as if she was your sister. I know you care for your mother," Hawks said.

"You're the one who lies," Dabi answered back. "I know you hate the commission. I've seen you work 48-hour shifts without taking a break then you hide everything with pristine perfect makeup and go out the next day like nothings wrong. I know you never wanted to be a hero after you finished your first month of training."

"People care for you Touya and you're wrong. I'm fine being a hero I would just rather be in the top twenty than the top ten," Hawks said still forcing Dabi into a hug until he was forced away.

"Their you go again twisting and manipulating every word I said," Dabi said angrily.

"C'mon you know that's not true!" Hawks said as he hugged Dabi once again "I'm just trying to help you! Let me help you!

"You are NOT my hero!" Dabi screamed as he was turned around surprised about the tears coming from his eyes, happy that Hawks couldn't see him. "You. . don't know how it felt," Dabi said as flashes of the training room ran in his mind. Being a punching bag and training harder than his father would let him just so Shoto could have some free time.

"What else could I do with the cards that I've been dealt? "Dabi asked as he fell to his knees.

"Hey," Hawks said calmly as he rubbed Dabi's back in comfort. "YOU are not a villain. You once held my hand," Hawks said as he grabbed Dabi's hand once again and suddenly Dabi's mind was filled with pleasant memories of sharing drinks on top of rooftops, of sneaking late-night kisses when the two knew they were alone, of late-night talks in Hawks's apartment, of comfortable silence as they laid in Hawks's big bed just comfortable to be in one another's company.

"Stand up. Get out. Somethings don't go as planned," Dabi said.

"But maybe that's a good thing," Hawks said as he looked at Dabi with hope in his eyes.

"Yeah I guess this time it's a good thing," Dabi. . .no Touya said as he finally accepted Hawks hand and the two went to hopefully live out their happily ever after, but not before making sure Endevarour was behind bars.
