At Novi Grad Orphanage, there was a hefty change as the majority of the seniority left them. But it wasn't quite due to that. Rather, as things in the entirety of the city declined further and further, more and more children found themselves displaced and sent to the mildewy building as their parents died in violent acts of terror and protest alike, both sides of the spectrum dragging great detriment with them.
Thom became the oldest, as well as the founder's grandson of course. He took a role as the leader of the children there and grew fond of them, in the same way his father had during his stay. Thom, contrary to what he first suspected, decided against leaving and instead, alongside his father, remained at the orphanage far beyond his eighteenth year.
The only of the others he would see again would be Milla, who after many years returned to the musty downstairs classrooms as a teacher. And in many more years, the two would marry, when their difference in age seemed less drastic and their difference in philosophy morphed into a near identicality.
But before that could occur, there was the era where Thom must be alone in peers in order to become a leader, and where Milla was devoid of leaders to become the same.
