Chapter 5
Izuku's POV:
She said yes! She said YES! he thought, ecstatic by what happened. After they shook hands and promised to do their best to become heroes, they watched a horror movie, which most of the time Ochako hid under the blanket. When they finished the movie Uraraka yawned and said, "Wow, it's getting pretty late Deku-Kun. We should go to sleep soon." Then he remembered their predicament. It seemed she did too, by the look on her face. "Um, so..." he tried to break the awkward silence. It was fine a minute ago! I just wished she would say something. "Who's your favorite pro hero?" Ochko's eyes lit up. "Oh that's easy!" she exclaimed. "Thirteen! She's one of the best heroes I've ever seen! Fighting her for practice was fun, but I hope it didn't hurt." She winced. Izuku laughed. "I'm pretty sure it didn't hurt. I mean, she's a pro hero after all." She smiled. "Yeah, i guess so." It looked like a thought struck her. "Sooooooo," she started, giving him a mischievous glance. "I've been wondering.....who do you have a crush on, Deku-Kun?" He almost stopped breathing by the time he realized what she was saying. "W-why do ask that all of a sudden, U-uraraka-San?" he choked out. Ochako smiled slyly. "Oh, no reason. I just wanted to because me and the girls were wondering." He stared at her weirdly. "Um, you know you're kinda acting like Mina right now..." That got her back to normal. She flushed a bright red and buried her hands in her face. "I'M SO SORRY DEKU-KUN!!" she blurted. "I PROMISE I WON'T DO IT AGAIN, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!" She was silent for a few seconds before she said, "I'm really sorry. I know that was an invasion of privacy. I would be uncomfortable too if someone asked me that." she slowly stood up. "So I guess I'll be leaving." Izuku was confused. "Wait, why are you going?" he said as she was headed for the door. "Well, I made you uncomfortable, so I assumed you wanted me gone." He snorted which brought out a shocked look form Ochako. "W-wait," she said, confused on why he was amused. "Why're you laughing." He squashed down his grin and gave her a soft smile. "Uraraka-San, you apologized, and even if you didn't, I wouldn't tell you to leave. You were curious, that's all." Ochako gave him an exasperated look. "But Deku, I was being rude about it, you have a right to send me out. Plus," she admitted sadly. "I deserve it. I lied about the girls wanting to know (well, maybe not Mina). I was just being nosy, you shouldn't have to tell me that." Izuku tried to reason with her again. "But Uraraka-" She cut him off. "Don't you get it?!" she yelled, and he realized this whole time she has tears streaming down her face. "I don't deserve to be friends with you! You-you're too nice when you should be mad and you're too dense to realize-!" She gave a sob and stormed out of the room. Izuku sat there for what felt like an eternity. "W-what just happened?" he said to himself.
Ochako's POV:
Ochako didn't know where she was going, she just ran. She sprinted all the way out of the dorms, onto the streets and didn't stop there. She wanted to- needed to get away from Izuku and what happened. I guess our friendship is over after that, she thought. Though I bet he was already getting tired of me after asking those nosy questions. She laughed bitterly to herself. She turned the corner and realized she was in a park, with misty fog surrounding the area. She knew in the back of her mind that this was the worst place to stop and think, but her head was all over the place after the events before. Ochako sighed deeply and took a seat on the bench. She rubbed her temples and muttered to herself, "I didn't think I could be more of an idiot, but here I am." Another bitter chuckle. The laugh soon turned to sniffles, which turned to tears, then sobs. Anyone could hear her now, but Ochako didn't care. She was tired of holding it all in, putting a warm smile on her face while dying inside. She just wanted comfort, and crying was the only way she got that. It wasn't a new thing; she'd been doing it some nights when the pain of holding up a fake smile was just too much to bear, but she wanted real reassurance, not just crying herself to sleep at night; she wanted someone who knew her pain and still liked her. But of course that would never happen; if she were to have someone like that, she would need to tell them about her feelings for Deku, and she would never, ever let that happen. She sighed once again. For now I'll just stay here until I feel better, she thought. Though I doubt that'll be anytime soon. "Oh my poor Ochako," another voice crooned. "How I wish you would let me taste your blood, that'll be sure to cheer you up!" Ochako whipped around, coming face to face with none other than Himiko Toga.
