Part 30

"Any last words?" Alistair said, pressing the barrel of the gun between Suga's eyes. You were crying and struggling, begging him to spare Suga. You couldn't bare to think if Suga was killed, wouldn't dream of it. It would be a fate worse than death if he was taken from you.

"Just a question." Suga said defiantly, lifting his head to meet Alistair's piercing gaze. "Do you happen to know what time it is?"

You blinked and even Alistair faltered. It was an out of the blue question. There was no real point to the question, and it seemed so mundane and out of place that you even stopped crying for a second to process what he had just asked.

"What does that have to do with anything? You want me to call your time of death?" Alistair hissed. Suga shrugged, a small smile playing on his face.

"I'm just curious. If I'm going to die anyway, I just figured it'd be nice to know the exact time." He replied lightly. You narrowed your eyes, something in his tone giving you pause. Suga must have been asking this for a reason. He wouldn't just ask the question for kicks. You noticed Luke's watch on the wrist that was wrapped tightly around your chest to keep you from moving. You angled your head to read the time.

"It's midnight." You replied, drawing Alistair and Suga's attention to you. Suga blinked at you and then smiled.

"Oh good, I was hoping it would be." He said, a flicker of excitement and relief passing through his gaze.

"What does the time have to do with anything? What are you planning?" Alistair shot. Suga faced him again and this time, didn't bother hiding his triumphant smile.

Suddenly there was huge explosion from inside the house that rattled the room and caused the ground under your feet to shake hard. Luke's grasp loosened around you and because of your imbalance, you fell over onto the ground. You heard something clatter behind you as Alistair and Luke looked at each other in shock. Alistair pulled the gun back and glared at Suga.

"What the hell was that?" He snarled. Suga shrugged just as yells and shouts could be heard from the floor above. Both Alistair and Luke looked up frantically at the chaos occurring on the floor above. Still on the floor, you peered next to you to see the knife Luke had been using on the floor next to you. Blood rushed through your ears and you grabbed it. You inched your way over to Suga's chair, trying to keep as quiet and quick as you could as to not draw attention to yourself. You pressed the knife into Suga's hands behind his back. His head whipped to you in surprise. You released the knife when it was firmly in his hand and leaned forward over him you wrapped your arms around him, like you were hugging him for protection.

"Fuck." Alistair hissed and gestured at his men. "Don't let them escape. I'll take care of this." He pointed at Luke. "Control your whore." With that, he left the room and Luke grabbed you around the waist. You screamed as he pulled you away from Suga's body.

"Get off me, you psycho, get off!" You screamed, kicking and flailing wildly. Luke grabbed your arms and twisted them behind your back.

Suddenly there were a couple of gasps from the other men in the room. Both you and Luke paused as Suga stood up from the chair, the zip tie cut and the knife in his hand. You grinned as he gave you wink before springing into action.

You planted your feet on the ground, pulling hard against Luke's grasp. He struggled to keep you contained. You lifted your foot up and stomped on his toes hard, causing him to yelp and lift his foot off the ground. You lifted your other leg and delivered a swift kick behind him to his other knee. He buckled and his grip on your loosened.

You yanked yourself out of his grasp and turned around, your hands clenching to fists. You drew your fist back and aimed for the softest part on his face that would still hurt like a bitch: his nose. Your fist slammed into his nose as Luke cried out in pain, falling over from the force of the punch. You fist stung from the impact and you shook out your hand as Luke fell on his knees and lifted his hands to his now-spurting bloody nose.

You heard the click of a gun behind you and you whirled around to see Suga holding a machine gun and a knife in both hands. You looked around him to see the dead bodies of the four guards on the ground surrounding him. There was blood on Suga's hands and chest and the blood on the knife made it look almost lack as his face glistened with small spatters of blood. He had never looked more attractive to you.

Luke groaned, drawing your attention back to him. Without thinking, you turned and grabbed the knife in Suga's hand. You yanked it free and stalked back over to Luke. You raised your foot and kicked him hard in the jaw. His head whipped around, and he shouted in pain as he fell over again. You bent down so you could get better access and you punched him in the cheek again. You winced at the sharp pain in your fist as Luke grunted again. You panted hard as he turned to face you. His cheek was swelling already, and his nose was still dribbling blood. Looking at him now, you couldn't remember how you ever thought he was attractive.

"I hate you." You snarled, fists still clenched. "I have hated you for years. You took everything from me. You stole half my life, you stole my happiness, my innocence. You made me grow up when I was too young. I can never be normal because of you."

Luke started laughing and in a fit of anger, your hand lashed out and slapped him hard across his already swelling cheek.

"I didn't steal anything from you. You gave it to me." He said, a grin on his face. Your vision went read with anger and you pulled the knife out and shoved it against his throat. Luke's laughter died as he peered into your fury-induced eyes, dangerously close to snapping.

"You think... you think I liked it?" You hissed, your voice dangerously calm. "You think I enjoyed sleeping with you? You think I liked it when you forced yourself on me?" Your hands trembled, digging the blade further into Luke's neck. If you pressed any harder, you would certainly draw blood. Luke pursed his lips.

"I rocked your world." He drawled, smirking slightly. You let out a loud laugh and threw your head back maniacally. Luke's nostrils flared as you brought your head back to meet his gaze.

"I must be a better actor than I thought." You said, still chuckling maliciously. "I faked it, Luke. I faked all of it. Every. Damn. Time. How's that for your fragile masculinity?" You taunted, eyes glinting as Luke's lip curled in disgust.

"I should have left you the first time you hit me. The first time you pressured me to have sex with you, I should have left. I should have turned you into the police when you forced fucked me on our prom night." You snarled, your eyes brimming with tears at those horrible memories.

"Why didn't you?" Luke croaked.

"Because I loved you, you sick son of a bitch!" You screamed, digging the knife further into his neck. You could feel his pulse through the metal as it started to speed up. "I loved you because I was a stupid, naïve little girl..." You said softer this time. Luke looked away and gritted his teeth.

"Please, you didn't love me. You cheated on me too many times." He growled. You started to tremble with rage.

"I never cheated on you, you jackass. You made it up so you would have an excuse to beat me senseless. You made me your own personal punching bag for when you were feeling upset." You growled, feeling hot angry tears run down your blood-stained cheeks.

"You always deserved it. You always deserved it because you would never listen to me. You never listened, you never cared. You were just a stupid waste of space slut and you deserved every bruise I gave you."

Your vision went white and before you knew what you were doing, you stood up and turned around to Suga still standing behind you. You dropped the knife, grabbed the gun in his hand, and turned around swiftly, cocking it and pressed the barrel against Luke's forehead. One tiny squeeze of your finger and you would finally have peace. One small squeeze and you would finally be able to breathe knowing that he was truly gone from your life. All you had to do was squeeze.

Minutes passed with your hands trembling as you dug the barrel into his skin. Luke smirked at you as you hesitated. Why were you hesitating? You wanted to kill him. You should kill him, why couldn't you bring yourself to kill him?

"You're weak." Luke hissed, making your blood boil. "You think you've gotten stronger since you left me, but you've made yourself weak. You don't have what it takes."

You gritted your teeth and squeezed your eyes before loosening your grip on the gun and lowering it. He was right, you were weak. You didn't have what it takes to kill him. You wished you did, but you simply couldn't bring yourself to do it.

Suddenly Suga stepped up next to you and took the gun from your limp hands. He gave your shoulder and gentle squeeze before stepping forward so he could rest the barrel of the machine gun under Luke's chin.

"She's not weak." Suga said in a low voice. "It's easy to kill people. Killing is almost second nature to people like us. Having restraint, however, is a lot harder. You should consider yourself lucky that even after everything you did to her, she still cares enough about you to spare you."

A sinister smile formed on his face as he tilted his head. Luke's eyes widened at his expression.

"Too bad for you, I don't have the same restraint."

The gunshot was almost deafening, and you turned away quickly just before hearing Luke's brains splatter on the wall behind him and his body slump to the ground. You swallowed, trying to keep the nausea down. You turned back slowly, trying to avoid looking at the mess of the corpse that was previously your ex-boyfriend.

Suga's arms circled around you and he pulled you into a warm embrace. His chest was wet with blood and as you pressed your face into the crook of his neck, you were sure that you both looked like you had just come out of a horror movie. You exhaled hard as Suga released you. He ran a hand over your cheek and tilted your head up to look him in the eye. He gave you the softest of smiles and your heart jumped in your chest.

"You okay, little firecracker?" He asked. You nodded, still slightly in a daze. "Good. We better get going. Hopefully all went according to plan and we won't be given too much trouble."

He grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the dark room, leaving behind five bodies. His other hand cocked the machine gun above his shoulder so he could fire if there was a threat. He pulled you up the stairs, shouting and gunshots coming from above.

The two of your emerged into the ground floor of the house, ambushed by the frantic shouting and gunshots of the battle. You recognized Jungkook and V back to back, firing machine guns in the living room, dropping bodies like flies as Alistair's men tried to advance on them. Suga immediately jumped into action, dropping your hand and pulling his gun forward, shooting into the senseless crowd.

There was a yell behind you, and you turned in fear when you saw one of Alistair's men running at you, gun pointed at your head. You heard a gunshot and you flinched, looking down to see where the bullet had entered in you. When there was no wound, you looked up in surprise to see the man fall over, a large hole in his head. You looked up to see J-Hope on the stairs, giving you a grin and a thumbs up.

It didn't take long for the gunshots and shouting to finally die down as the Bulletproof gang made quick work of their enemies. You walked further into the living room after deeming it safe enough and stared open mouthed at the missing wall that was hidden from view before. There was fallen debris and bricks everywhere surrounding the huge hole in the wall. So that was where the explosion came from.

"Y/N!" You turned around when you heard your name to see Jimin running down the stairs. You breathed a sigh of relief as he ran to you, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you up to swing you around.

"Thank God... thank God..." he whispered, putting you back on the ground. You smiled and put a hand on his cheek.

"Good to see you too, Jimin." You replied softly.

The others started to congregate in the living room, each one giving you various degrees of smiles, and in some cases like Jungkook's, a distrustful grimace. Suga stepped in the center and looked around, counting heads.

"Where's RM?" He asked. You looked around in surprise, noticing that there were only six boys present.

"Right here." You turned to the voice to see RM walking into the living room, dragging a body behind him. You gasped when you recognized Alistair's limp body. RM threw the body into the center of the living room and you jerked back when you realized that Alistair was still alive, only badly beaten. Alistair pushed himself up to sit on his knees as he looked around the room. There was blood dribbling down his chin and his eye was already closing up from swelling.

Suga bent over Alistair, a crooked grin on his face.

"I guess I ended up beating you, huh? Now you get the pleasure of having my bullet lodged on your brain." He snarled. Grabbing Alistair's hair and yanking it up so Alistair was forced to look him in the eyes. Alistair smirked.

"At least I got your whore to cheat on you. Twice." He grinned as his eyes moved to you. You paled as he puckered his lips at you. "My last thoughts will be the memory of your succulent lips, darling." He sneered, addressing you.

Suga growled and dropped Alistair's hair before standing up to his full height and pointing his gun at his temple. He fired and you looked away as Alistair's body fell to the ground. Jimin's hands found your shoulder and gave you a tight squeeze. You hadn't realized how relieved you were to be back with these boys. Even if someone (like certain raven-haired maknae) didn't trust you yet.

"It's over." Suga said softly. You looked up at him to see him giving you an intense stare. Your cheeks heated under his gaze and you opened your mouth to say something. To apologize? To beg for forgiveness? You weren't sure. But nothing seemed to be coming out of your mouth.

"The police will be here soon. We need to get out of here." Jin announced, pulling everyone's attention back to reality.

"We should scour the place. Find out what else they were hiding in here." Jungkook said, swinging his machine gun over his shoulder. You met his eyes for a second and felt a chill at the cold stare he was giving you. So, he still didn't trust you. that was good to know.

The boys started moving towards the house, some going inside while others, like RM and V left through the hole in the wall to ready the cars. You were rooted in place as Jimin brushed past you and even Suga turned away from you. Before Suga could leave, you ran forward and grabbed his hand. Suga paused and looked back at you in surprise.

"W-wait... I need to talk to you." You said softly. Suga blinked and then his eyes darkened as he nodded. Jimin paused at the entrance and looked back to the two of you. Suga turned to look at him and gave him a reassuring gesture. Once everyone was gone, he turned to face you and you dropped his hands in embarrassment.

"Suga I..." You took a deep breath. "I-I'm so sorry." Tears started to claw their way out of your throat, and you choked as the first one rolled down your cheek. "I t-thought you were dead... I didn't want to but... I just-I just didn't have any more energy."

Suga's face twisted in confusion and you started to ramble senselessly.

"I thought you were dead." You repeated. "I was still reeling, and I let him... I let him... and you were watching..." You let out a choked sob as tears were now streaming freely down your face. Suga's eyes clouded with understanding. He grabbed your shoulder and wrapped you in a tight hug.

"Don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for." He whispered gruffly, squeezing you to his chest.

"B-but Alistair was right. I-I.... I ch-cheated..." You sobbed more and tried to push him away. You didn't deserve his forgiveness, didn't deserve his kindness. Suga should be angry with you, he should be furious. You were furious with yourself.

"No, you didn't." Suga stated firmly. He bent down and placed his hands on your shoulders, forcing you to look him in the eyes. "You didn't cheat. You were doing what you had to survive. Don't blame yourself for this." He shook your shoulders, trying to drive his words into your brain. You sniffed and wiped away your tears.

"I'm so sorry... I'm sorry I'm such a burden." You whispered. Suga shook his head and wrapped you back into his embrace. This time, you didn't try to pull away. This time, you let him wrap himself around you as you buried your face into his chest.

"You're not a burden. You are worth everything and more." Suga said gruffly. Your chest swelled at his words and you grasped his shirt to pull him as close as possible. Suga let you cry against him for a few minutes. When your tears finally started to die down, Suga's hand started to stroke your hair.

"Y/N..." he whispered. "Did you mean what you said?" You frowned in confusion and looked up at him. He was giving you a heavy stare, his eyes dark and questioning. "In the basement. Did you mean what you said?" Your eyes clouded with understanding.

Back in the basement, under the threat of Suga's death, you had admitted something huge. Something you had just barely started to admit to yourself. It was a desperate attempt to bring out Alistair's compassion, but there was so much truth to it as well. You swallowed hard and your cheeks flamed. You looked away, avoiding his intense stare.

"I think you know the answer to that..." You whispered, stepping away from his embrace.

"I want to hear you say it." He said gruffly, dropping your hands. You sighed and gulped.

"Yes. I meant what I said in there. Every word." You finally admitted after a few beats of tense silence.

Suga sighed and closed his eyes, a small smile forming on his lips.

"I'm sorry I didn't say it back." He said softly. You shook your head, wrapping your arms around yourself.

"You don't have to." You whispered. "It's okay, you don't have to say it back."

"Y/N, you have to understand, I wanted to say it back. But I didn't know if I was about to die or not. I didn't want your last thought of me to be those words because I was sure they would tear you apart."

"I understand, you really don't have to say it back."

"I love you." You looked up in surprise at Suga's sudden outburst. He was reaching out to you and you realized that you had been involuntarily backing away, wrapping your arms around yourself protectively. You swallowed and tilted your head in confusion.

"Did you hear me, little firecracker? I love you." Suga moved forward and your eyes widened as he stood in front of you. He lifted your chin and as you met his gaze, you could see the sincerity and possessiveness in his eyes. Your lips parted as you traced the outline of his hairline, his cheekbones, his nose, and down to his lips.

"Really?" You whispered softly. It was such a foreign concept to you. The ruthless gang leader, the arrogant asshole who had taken you prisoner. The man who had beaten you, used you, protected you, fought for you, almost died for you... he loved you.

"Really, Y/N. I love you." He repeated again, brushing his thumb along your cheekbone. Your eyelids fluttered as your eyes focused on his parted lips. His tongue darted out to wet them, and your own tongue mimicked his actions.

"That's the third time you've said it." You said tenderly, raising your hands to curl into the fabric of his shirt.

"I'm going to keep saying it until you get it into your head, little firecracker. I love you." Your lips lifted into a smile at his strong voice.

"Okay." You whispered. He leaned down so your lips were mere centimeters apart.

"Okay..." He growled, before closing the distance and pressing his moist lips against yours. You let out a sigh as you responded urgently to his kiss.

This kiss was unlike any other you'd had with him before. You poured every bit of emotion into it as he curled his hand around your neck and tilted your head to give himself more access. His tongue pushed against your slanted lips, forcing them open as he dove straight in. You shivered at the feeling and at how he wrapped his free arm around your waist forcing you in place.

After too short a time, he broke the kiss and started leaving small close-lipped kisses on your cheeks, on your nose, moving up until he pressed his lips on the space between your eyes. You sighed and leaned into him, closing your eyes.

You finally felt safe. You weren't sure how long it was since you had truly felt safe, but here, wrapped in his embrace, with the promise of a future with him, you had never felt more secure. He was your home, your hearth. As long as you were with him, you knew you would be okay. As long as he was near, you knew you could finally be happy.
