Part 11
The rest of week passed and the dynamic between you and Suga had not gotten any better. No, in fact it had gotten worse. There had been a total of zero words exchanged between the two of you and whenever Suga was in a room, you made an effort not to be in the same room. Sometimes you would finish making breakfast and then take your plate to your room just to avoid having to eat with him.
You were slightly sad that your relationship had deteriorated so significantly, but at the same time, you couldn't apologize for what you had done. Even though it was a desperate move, it was still important for you. Even though you and Suga had come to an understanding, it didn't change the fact that he had basically kidnapped you and then when you had attempted to escape, he had beaten you to unconsciousness. You hadn't forgotten how it felt to feel his fist connect with your jaw.
You were sitting on your bed, folding laundry when someone tapped on your door. Your turned in surprise at the sound, not expecting to see anyone. V stood there with an indifferent expression on his face. He glanced down at what you were doing and then back up at you before speaking.
"We're going out, get dressed." He said tersely. He made to leave, but you called after him.
"Wait!" He paused and turned to face you. You swallowed and threw your legs over the bed. "Are you sure I'm allowed to go?" You asked timidly. V raised an eyebrow at you.
"Um... yeah, why wouldn't you be?" He asked curiously. You blushed and looked away.
If there was one thing that you had been completely shocked about was the fact that Suga had not mentioned what had happened to any of the others. They all still treated you the same, and for that, you were a little grateful. But it did make it harder to explain the weird dynamic between the two of you. Especially to people like Jimin who never failed to notice anything.
"No reason. I'll get dressed." You said quickly, standing up from the bed. V shrugged and left you alone, closing the door behind him. You changed into the little black dress that you had used the previous time you had gone out with these boys. Last time you had gone to a club and you wondered if that was where you were going again tonight.
After you got ready, you made your way down to the kitchen where all the other boys were waiting. Jimin and Jungkook both turned to look at you as Suga gave you a passing glance. You smiled awkwardly as Jimin gave you an approving wink and Jungkook nodded at you. V was twirling a handgun next to Suga.
"Okay, great! Are we ready get out of here?" V asked, gesturing to the door. One by one, the boys started filing out of the kitchen and out the front door. You waited for each of them to leave before following, when you noticed that Suga was also not leaving. Soon, you were both left alone in the kitchen. You glanced at him, but he refused to look you in the eye. You decided to brave a conversation.
"Why are you taking me with you?" You asked. "I thought you were furious with me." You tried to slip in some remorse in your voice, but he didn't bite. He gave you a scathing glare and you physically winced.
"I can't very well leave you here alone, now can I?" He said defensively. You swallowed as his fiery eyes bore into yours. "There's not telling what you'd manage to do if you were left alone. We may return to a burning building. Little firecracker."
He added the last words with some extra punch, so you knew that it wasn't meant as a fond nickname. With that, he pushed himself off the counter and strode out of the room, leaving you speechless behind him. You closed your eyes and forced yourself to take a few deep breaths to slow your heart rate. You needed to get it together before you broke.
Now more than ever, you were terrified of Suga. Before, you were scared of what he was capable of. Now you knew what he was capable of, and you also knew that you had pushed him directly over the edge. He could kill you if he wanted and you wouldn't be able to see it coming. It was petrifying to think that in any given second, he could snap and close his hands around your neck.
You quickly walked out of the mansion and over to where the cars were waiting. V and Jimin had gotten into one car, while Jungkook, J-Hope, and Suga were getting into the other. You made your way over to Jimin's car and slid into the backseat with V and Jimin in the front. The two boys were chattering away about something while V continued to twirl his gun and Jimin drove.
"So this a new club, right?" V was saying. Jimin nodded as he peered at the road in front of him.
"Yeah, we own it now. You know people think that we're getting soft or are hiding or something after the attack, but this is just the thing we need to let them know they're wrong."
"Is it a good club, though?"
"I have no idea, I've never been. RM said it was lit though. Lots of jobs can be done there, he said. If course, RM would never use the word 'lit' unironically, but you know what I mean."
"I don't even care at this point, dude. It's been so long since we've had a good night out and I just want to get this job done quickly so we can party all night long."
"Don't let you're feelings get in the way of this. This is still just as important a job as all the others."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Don't patronize me, Jiminie."
"I'm not. And don't call me that, Taehyungie..."
They started going back and forth and you couldn't help but smile at their childish behavior. You also noted that Jimin had used V's real name in front of you. You weren't sure if it was intentional, but you had noticed it right away. Kim Taehyung was his real name, and you knew that the general public weren't supposed to know his real name. Which meant that if you gave it away that you knew all of their real names, they would know about you.
"So, little firecracker, are you ready to let loose tonight?" V asked suddenly, pulling you into the conversation. You swallowed and wrung your hands in your lap.
"I don't think I'll be doing any of that tonight." You said quietly. Jimin cracked a smile, but V looked like he had just gotten stabbed.
"What? No, you have to party with us. That's the whole reason we're going out! You have to promise me that you'll do shots with me tonight. I want to see how much liquor your little body can hold." V said mischievously, wiggling his eyebrows. You scrunched your nose up indignantly.
"I'll have you know that I can hold a lot of alcohol." You said irately, crossing your arms. V chuckled and even Jimin looked skeptical.
"Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it." V said with a smile.
"Hey, Y/N, I've been meaning to ask, is everything okay between you and Suga?" Jimin suddenly asked out of the blue. The color flooded from your cheeks as you suddenly started coughing loudly. You leaned over as your entire body racked with coughs. You composed yourself and straightened up, staring at Jimin in surprise. Why would he ask you that now of all times to ask?
"Um, yeah, of course. Why?" You said quickly.
"I don't know, it just seemed like after you guys trained at the shooting range, you've barely spoken to each other. Did anything happen that day?" Jimin shrug as he kept his eyes on the road.
He was way too observant for his own good. You pursed your lips and racked your brain for something to say when V saved you.
"You guys shot off a lot of rounds the other day. Did you have fun?" V asked, smirking at you. You blushed again and thanked the gods for giving you a get-out-of-jail free card.
"Yeah, I did. It was actually really fun. Who knew?" You said lightly, trying to hide the real events of that day. Jimin narrowed his eyes at you and you mentally cursed him and yourself. Maybe you were getting a little too close to Jimin for your own good. He knew how to read you now.
"You didn't answer my question." Jimin stated, giving you a look. He knew something was up. You wished you were better at hiding this. You had been keeping secrets from them for the entire time you had been here. How was it that you were getting worse and worse at keeping trivial secrets?
"Nothing happened." You said, crossing your arms. You tried to be firm in your answer, but Jimin quirked an eyebrow.
"I think you're lying." He deadpanned. You didn't answer for a few minutes and the car fell into an awkward silence. You were weighing your options. If you told them what really happened, would they hate you? If you didn't tell them, then they wouldn't trust you anymore. You were basically stuck between a rock and a hard place.
As you sat and contemplated your options, you came to the conclusion that there was no point in keeping this from them. You didn't regret your actions and you knew that if it hadn't happened, something similar would have. The fact that Suga had kept this from the rest of his comrades may have been more for his benefit rather than yours. Why did you care to maintain their trust? You knew that they would much rather kill you for their own benefit before anything, no matter how close you got to them.
"Okay, fine. You got me, something did happen." You said, lifting your head to meet Jimin's eyes through the mirror again.
"I knew it, you guys made out, didn't you?" V said suddenly. Your eyes widened and you gave him an incredulous look, your mouth parted slightly. V was giving you a hopeful grin, but he slowly retracted it when he saw your expression.
"No... never..." You said quietly, still staring at V in disbelief. V gave you a sheepish smile.
"Sorry, I just assumed... you and Suga have quite the sexual tension going on." V said, wiggling his eyebrows. You felt both thrill and disgust rising in your throat. Just picturing yourself kissing the man who killed for sport was enough to make you nauseous. And at the same time you felt a strange sense of longing at the idea.
"I don't think it's sexual tension going on between them, Tae..." Jimin said, watching your expression through the mirror. You took a deep breath and looked down at your lap.
"We were shooting rounds. He was teaching me to shoot correctly and aim straight." You started, "and I may have... threatened to shoot him instead."
As soon as you let the words slip from your mouth, the dynamic in the car changed. Jimin's eyes left yours and stared back at the road, but you noticed his hands squeeze the wheel slightly tighter. V's smile was gone and he was now staring directly in front of him, his back completely rigid. This icy atmosphere reminded you of how it had been when you first came with them, that very first night. When you were terrified out of your mind and lying to yourself to keep yourself sane.
V's hand that was closed around the handle of his gun seemed to tighten and you wondered for a brief moment if he was about to use it to shoot you. But then his hand seemed to relax and he even released the gun entirely. You heard a low sound coming from the back of V' throat and you felt a wave of fear pass through your body. It wasn't until you recognized the sound as a chuckle. He was laughing. You scrunched your eyes together and tilted your head. What about this situation was funny? Even Jimin gave him an incredulous look.
"You know, I wouldn't expect anything less from our little firecracker." V said in amusement.
"Tae, this is serious. She threatened to shoot our leader." Jimin said in disappointment. V shrugged at the older boy.
"What did you think was going to happen? We took her from her home and Suga even beat her half to death a few weeks ago. And then we handed her a loaded gun? I mean... I would have been more surprised if she didn't try to use it." V said matter-of-factly.
You stared with wide eyes and your mouth parted. He wasn't angry? He didn't even seem... surprised at what you had said at all. Jimin gave you a scathing look from the mirror.
"You remember when I told you that I believe in second chances?" Jimin said harshly. You recoiled from his tone and nodded meekly. "Well, you're making me regret giving you that chance." He hissed. You shivered at the ice in his tone.
Jimin was rarely ever angry with you and you hated when he was. Especially now, since you didn't know if you would ever be able to get back on his good side. Out of everyone in that house, Jimin had become the closest to your friend. In the shadow that had been your time with them, he had been a shred of light. A shred of hope that they weren't all bad. And suddenly, you wondered if you were really any different from them.
"Jimin, seriously, what is your problem? Leave her alone." V snapped suddenly, turning your attention back to him in surprise. "She didn't kill him, did she? He's alive and fine, and so is she, which means he didn't even punish her for it. Don't forget that she is not one of us and does not owe us anything."
Your jaw dropped as you stared in awe at the young man with the box smile. He didn't know you, you didn't know him, and yet he still defended you when you had admitted that you almost murdered his leader.
"Taehyung..." You whispered. V's head turned sharply to look at you, when Jimin pulled into park.
"We're here." Jimin said tersely. He jumped out of the car and you slowly followed after him, shutting the door softly behind you. As you followed Jimin toward the door to the club, a hand wrapped around your wrist and turned you around. You turned to meet V's piercing gaze. You flinched at the expression he was giving you. One of suspicion and mistrust and even a bit of anger.
"You just said my name. How do you know my real name?" He demanded, squeezing your wrist slightly, making you wince.
"Jimin used it in the car." You offered as an excuse, trying to pull your arm out of your grasp. V's grip did not slacken as he narrowed his eyes.
"Yes, but he only used my nicknames. How do you know my full name?" He questioned again. You swallowed and tried to keep your face to remain impassive.
"He called you Taehyungie. It's not that hard to put two and two together." You said logically. You mentally applauded yourself for pulling that excuse right out of your ass. V's grip loosened and his face softened a bit. You pulled your arm away and rubbed your wrist.
"Yeah... you're right... Sorry about that. I'm just a bit... on edge after what you admitted in the car." V said sheepishly.
You swallowed and nodded, turning on your heel to catch up with the others. You had to hold in your breath of relief until V could no longer see your face.
You followed the boys into the club, a different club than the one you had been to before, and followed them to the VIP section in the back. Just like last time, the boys started settling into their usual spots around the couches. You sat down at one of the high tables and surveyed the scene around you. Suga and J-Hope were talking by the VIP bar with two drinks in front of them, Jimin and V were talking to a group of girls near the VIP entrance, and Jungkook was sitting alone on one of the couches, sipping what looked like a whiskey on the rocks.
You remained at the table for almost a half hour, before deciding to actually do something to make your time here worthwhile. They had brought you here, and they hadn't said that you had to be nice and sober the whole time. So, that meant you were free to get intoxicated, even a little bit. If you ended up too drunk to walk, then it wasn't your problem, it was theirs.
With a newfound determination, you stood up from the high table and made your way out of the VIP section to go to the bar. Before you could leave, however, a hand wrapped around your forearm and turned you around. You looked up to meet the dark, suspicious eyes of Jungkook.
"Where are you going?" he demanded.
"To get a drink. Am I not allowed to get a drink?" You snapped, yanking your hand from his grasp. He narrowed his eyes at you and pursed his lips. After a few moments of awkward silence, he let his shoulders relax and he sighed.
"Fine." He turned you around and pointed to a specific spot at the bar. "Go right there, get your drink, and come straight back." He ordered. He gave you a light push toward the place he'd pointed to and you felt a wave of indignation bubble up in your chest. You wanted to do something, like snap at him or flip him off, but instead you obeyed him and stalked to the spot at the bar that he'd pointed to.
You sat down and looked up at the suspended menu, contemplating your options. Did you want to be lightly buzzed, or completely hammered? You tried waving over the bartender, but he was too busy talking up some college girls a few seats away. You sighed in annoyance and leaned your elbow against the counter, your face in your palm.
"You gotta yell to get his attention girly." You heard a voice chirp from behind you. You turned around to see a man, maybe a decade or so older than you, sit at the seat next to you. To prove his point, he raised his hand and yelled out loudly to the bartender. As the bartender made his way over, the man began to talk to you again.
"So, what are you having?" he asked. You pursed your lips and surveyed the man in front of you: lean, broad shoulders with pale skin and a five o'clock shadow, coupled with buzz cut and small beady eyes. This man was both handsome and repulsive at the same time. He was wearing a nice suit so you concluded that he was quite wealthy.
"I'll have a vodka strawberry lemonade." You said with a smile. The man nodded as the bartender walked up.
"The lady will have the vodka strawberry lemonade, and I'll get a Manhattan." He ordered.
When the bartender shuffled off, the man turned back to you. With a flourish and a smile, he tucked his hand under his chin and gave you a long look down your body to your legs and back up again.
"So what's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" It was a bad pick-up line by any means but something stirred in your brain as he said those words. From the way he stared at you and the way his eyes seemed to darken every time he looked at your lips, you knew that he wanted you. And although you didn't want him in return, there was an opportunity here. A very strong opportunity that you would have to snatch if it were possible.
You turned your head to look back at the VIP section. Your heart soared when you saw that Jungkook had been distracted by a leggy blonde and the others were either preoccupied, or no where to be seen. You were unsupervised and alone. This was it. This was the moment that you had been so desperately waiting for. The one chance you had at escape was here and you needed to seize it before it was too late.
The bartender returned with your drinks and you grabbed yours, taking it in one full gulp. The man raised his eyebrows at you as he tried to follow suit and gulp his down as well. He struggled further, but he managed to get his down quickly as well. You then leaned forward and lowered your eyelids, placing your hand on his thigh and allowing your dress you slip so he could get a full view of your cleavage.
"Do you want to get out of here?" You purred, running your hand up his leg. The man's eyes widened and you knew that he was surprised it had become so easy to pick up a hot, willing girl. His surprise quickly turned into a smug smile as he grabbed the hand on his leg and pulled your closer. You yelped as he basically pulled you out of your seat to collide with him. He wrapped his arms around your small frame and leaned towards your ear.
"I'm about to give you the ride of your life." He whispered in your ear. The words didn't even process as he stood up and pulled you toward the entrance of the door. You managed to get one look back at the VIP section to see that you were indeed still not being watched before the man pulled you out of the door and into the night.
