Despite a very rough start, Tan's relationship with Fai gradually got better with time. He didn't have to put too much effort into forgiving Fai for her behavior, because Tan knew that she didn't do that because she wanted to get back with Fang, but simply because she cared about him. Because of that, Tan couldn't really blame her.

Akk, on the other hand, basically disappeared. Knowing that he had crossed the line way too much, he knew that the best thing he could do was to avoid Tan at all costs and let him live his life. Tan eventually discovered that Akk managed to pass the exam of the subject he used to study with Tan. However, the good news didn't come from Akk himself, but from Chain. In fact, Akk decided to tell that only to Chain, who then informed Tan about it, since he didn't know about Akk's inappropriate behavior towards him.

For Tan's first day at work, Fang took a day off. He took Tan to the company building and waited for almost an hour in the parking lot, so that if Tan felt too uncomfortable to work in such a place, he could take him back home before the trauma could reemerge as strong as before. Thankfully, Tan quickly managed to get used to the new environment.

As soon as he had arrived, the boss asked Tan to follow him to his office. Very kindly, the chief told him that Mark had been fired after they received the proof necessary from a very important client. Tan pretended not to be aware of the whole thing, but he immediately linked the "important client" to Kim's family. After that, he got a brief introduction to the tasks related to his position. The work wasn't that easy and at the end of the day he felt quite tired, but soon, after finishing the last task of the day, he felt a rush of satisfaction.

When Fang came back to pick him up, he realized immediately that Tan had finally found a goal to achieve. Seeing him smiling genuinely for the first time after such a troublesome period, he realized that his smile was the only thing that mattered to him.
