Why do I fear the dark?

Again I wake at this same hour,
That causes me to shake and stutter,
Every sound,
And head under pressure,
Makes the lies and truth,
Just so hard to measure,
But when I read your word,
Answers are found and my crying is heard,
I know that this is a cycle,
When will I realize that it all goes around?
Me not trusting you LORD,
And you giving me each time,
A shield and sword,
What makes me think that sleep is so hard to afford?
The LORD does not slumber,
So why do I fear thunder?
The LORD shall preserve my soul,
Even if I am broken,
He makes me whole,
So why do I stay awake,
Thinking my safety is a double job at night?
Why do I fear the dark,
When my father,
The LORD,
Is the light?

One day I shall wake up after a full nights sleep,
One without doubting,
One without feeling weak,
For what can the dark do,
When the light arrives,
Than back away?
Teach me to trust you,
Give me rest lord,
I know you will always stay,
In Jesus Christ name,
AMEN

Matthew 11 28-30:
"28¶Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Psalm 121:
"1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
