Chapter 17

Themis got back to the floor an hour later, after the other three had already went back to their floor to avoid being caught in the act. Themis sighed in relief at seeing Tommy and walked over to him.

"You shouldn't just run off like that kid. We looked everywhere for you. Where'd you go?" Themis crouched down in front of Tommy and Tommy set his phone down.

"Well, I went to Minorities floor and then we came here after like half an hour. Been here since." Themis pulled out his phone and typed something down. He then stood up and sat next to Tommy.

"You should've texted at least. You scared Wilbur half to death. The Angel immediately freaked out and is now flying all over the place looking for you. Wilbur decided to check all 30 floors and I was following him for a while before I decided you'd come back here eventually. Unfortunately we were on the first floor and Wilbur was using the elevator so I had to walk up the stairs." Tommy hummed and picked his phone back up, continuing to play solitaire. He seemed to have an addiction with it recently.

"Well you guys should stop fighting all the time. I'm gonna keep leaving every time you all fight." Themis's ear flicked down and he looked at Tommy confused.

"We don't fight all the time." Tommy rolled his eyes as he thought back to Ranboo's attitude this morning. Everyone seemed to be getting more and more angry recently. Even he was finding himself to be more spiteful. "Is everything alright Tommy?" Tommy frowned and turned his phone off. He lost his solitaire game and now he was pissed.

"Fine." Tommy stood up and walked to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Correction, accidentally slamming the door behind him. Tommy looked at himself in the mirror and sighed. Everything was fine. He was fed three times a day, which made him feel like throwing up but he would never mention it. He got space and sleep whenever he asked for it, he was never pestered by The Angel like Themis and Wilbur were. But he didn't have his friends. He didn't have someone next to him in bed for him to latch onto if he had a nightmare. He didn't get to wake up to Tubbo clacking away on his laptop. He didn't have Ranboo's homemade spaghetti three times a week. Ew. Tommy was homesick.

The realization made Tommy groan and cover his face in his hands. He didn't need Tubbo and Ranboo. The was a knock on the door. Tommy glared at the door and flushed the toilet, then washed his hands as if he'd gone to the bathroom to actually go to the bathroom. Tommy turned off the sink and opened the door. The Angel was on the other side of it and he smiled gently at Tommy.

"Do you want to talk about it or do you want space?" Tommy frowned slightly and shrugged. The Angel looked calm and understanding but Tommy wouldn't doubt if that was a facade. There was a right and wrong answer.

"There's nothing to talk about." The Angel's smile faltered but he was quick to fix it. That was definitely the wrong answer. Tommy was so fucked.

"Right. Would you join in our discussion then? You don't have to talk but it'd be nice for you to be there." Tommy grimaced subtly and nodded. He wanted nothing more than to do absolutely anything else. The Angel walked to the living room and Tommy followed. Wilbur and Themis we're sat on the couch, Themis looking at the back of the couch and Wilbur looking at the kitchen. The Angel stood in front of the couch and mattress and Tommy laid on the mattress. His stomach hurt from Hbomb's prodding earlier. It was like an hour ago but it still hurt, he can complain in his own mind if he wants to.

"Ok so, how many people currently in the tower know about Themis's friend?" Everyone looked at The Angel and Wilbur sighed.

"From my count, 8. That includes you, Me, Tommy, Themis, Captain Puffy, Nihachu, and Warper. Wait no that's seven. Oh well Halo knows too cause we fought in front of him." Themis furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Wilbur.

"Oh Hbomb knows too." All eyes turned to Tommy and he shrugged. "You guys were being bitches and Hbomb asked about it." The Angel sighed and rubbed his eyes.

"How many people knew before I did?" Themis grimaced and Wilbur hummed.

"Me, Tommy, Themis, Captain Puffy I assume, Nihachu I assume, and I think that's it. Oh I guess Warper too but he looked into the future for that so it wasn't really Themis's fault there." Themis looked between Tommy and Wilbur and huffed.

"How did you two know?" Wilbur pursed his lips and smiled.

"Caught you on camera and showed Tommy so he didn't say anything about it." Themis looked at Tommy and Tommy nodded. Themis smiled slightly and The Angel's wings flapped angrily.

"You'd think that would be something you'd tell me. Who is this friend?" Nobody spoke up and all three of them looked at each other. Tommy shook his head and Wilbur mimicked him. Themis sighed in relief and Tommy looked at The Angel.

"We've all taken a vow of silence, actually. So, sorry boss man." The Angel did NOT like that answer. He was good at concealing his anger in all fairness though.

"None of you are going out tonight. In fact, unless on patrol or requested for a meeting, none of you are so much as leaving this floor for a week. Do I make myself clear?" Tommy's mouth slacked open and the other two started protesting. Tommy was already having a shitty day, and now this? The Angel didn't own him, he couldn't make him do shit. Nope, this was the last straw. Tommy stood up and glared at The Angel. He had no right to yell at a hero but he was pissed and The Angel was just so annoying. Whatever he did, he shouldn't yell. That'd get him in so much shit.

"You don't own me. Our agreement was you wouldn't force me to do anything, including stay here. You've just gone back on that. I'm done." The Angel looked shocked at Tommy's stern tone and Tommy grabbed his phone and charger and walked to the elevator. Wilbur realized what was going on and ran over to Tommy.

"Tommy- no you're still hurt. You can't leave yet. What if something happens to you?" Wilbur put his hand on Tommy's shoulder as Tommy hit the button for the elevator. This poor elevator got so much use in a day. Tommy shrugged out of Wilbur's grip and glared at him.

"Then that's my problem. Not yours. I'll be back to work next week, stay the fuck away from me until then." Wilbur looked hurt and the elevator door opened. Tommy walked in and took one last look at the floor he'd stayed on for the past week and a half. God, they were so annoying he lasted less than 2 weeks. Tommy rolled his eyes and pressed the button for the first floor. The door closed on Wilbur and Tommy sighed in the elevator. He texted Tubbo that he was coming home early and Tubbo texted back that he'd be waiting for him.

Tommy got to the apartment without any new injuries but someone had tried to pickpocket him and then punched him in the gut when they didn't find anything on him. So it was entirely possible they reopened his stitches but he didn't wanna look just in case they did. He just limped to the apartment as fast as he could and hoped for the best. It took an hour and a half. Tommy didn't even want to climb the stairs so he texted Tubbo that he was in the lobby and Tubbo came rushing down. Tubbo saw him and ran over.

"Tommy! What happened to you? Come on, let's get you upstairs." Tubbo wrapped Tommy's arm around his shoulder and put his hand on Tommy's hip, walking him up the stairs. "I had Ranboo come home in case something happened. I'm glad I did now." Tommy leaned against Tubbo and looked down. Yeah he was bleeding again. He should find out his blood type. He was definitely going to need it eventually. Oh yeah, Tubbo asked him a question.

"Some fucker punched me. Got me in just the wrong spot." Tubbo opened the door to their apartment and walked him over to the couch. Ranboo appeared from the kitchen and ran over as Tubbo was helping Tommy sit down.

"Oh that looks bad. Tubbo, check out the damage." Ranboo ran into the bathroom and Tommy laid on the couch. Tubbo lifted his shirt and grimaced, wiping his hand across Tommy's stomach. Tommy looked at the ceiling and sighed quietly.

"Dude could you just, stop bleeding? I'm trying to see over here." Tommy snorted and took a deep breath. It felt like he'd been stabbed again. He was stabbed with a hand. Yeah that made sense. No it didn't.

"Tommy? Wake up, you know you can't sleep yet." Tommy opened his eyes and his head lolled to the side. He looked at Ranboo and sighed through his nose. His eyes kept trying to close on him.

"I'm up, I'm awake. I'm not I'm asleep." Ranboo smiled and Tubbo ran his fingers through Tommy's hair. Ranboo finished stitching Tommy up and checked his blood pressure again. It was considerably lower, so much that Ranboo was almost convinced they should take Tommy to the hospital. They didn't really have the money for it but they didn't have money to pay for Tommy's funeral either.

"We should take him to a hospital." Tubbo shook his head.

"We can't. He'd be so pissed." Ranboo looked at Tubbo desperately and Tubbo looked at Tommy.

"If we don't get Tommy to a hospital he may never get pissed at us again. His blood pressure is very low, he needs a blood transfusion." Tubbo looked at Ranboo quickly and ran his fingers through his hair nervously.

"Boo, who the fuck are we going to find with avian blood!?" Ranboo stayed quiet and Tubbo's stressed look turned to one of realization and then one of denial. "No. We are not giving his blood to Tommy. Think of someone else. I can tell you're still thinking of him, stop it." Ranboo sighed and grimaced.

"Who else Tubbo? This is an emergency, we need a quick solution." Tommy groaned quietly and Tubbo looked at Tommy.

"Maybe he has connections. Tommy, wake up." Tubbo slapped Tommy's face gently and Tommy opened his eyes.

"Wha?" Tommy saw Ranboo and Tubbo looking at him stressed out. He wanted to comfort them but he didn't know why they were stressed.

"Tommy, do you know any avians?" Tommy's eyes tried to close and Tubbo slapped him again. He groaned and tried to hit Tubbo back but his arm didn't make it more than an inch from it's spot.

"Angel.." Tubbo shook his head and Ranboo looked at Tubbo.

"Anyone else." Tommy groaned in pain and took a deep breath.

"No." Tubbo looked like he was on the verge of tears and Ranboo but his lips, small, barely noticeable purple sparks started appearing around his head.

"Tommy, please. Tell me you know anyone else. The Angel can not know about this." Tommy groaned and struggled to keep his eyes open. He chirped loudly and hissed through his teeth at the amount of pain that came from it.

"Get my suit, squeeze the right side of the mask gently." Tubbo stood up quickly and ran to get Tommy's suit. He appeared a minute later with the mask in hand a gently squeezed the right side of it.

"There, I fixes your problem. Now cheer up." Ranboo smiled and started crying. Tubbo looked at him and smiled sadly at him, then turned back and smiled playfully at Tommy. Tommy smiled back and his eyes tried forcing themselves closed again.

Ranboo held Tommy's hand and Tubbo ran his fingers through Tommy's hand for five minutes before The Angel came crashing through the window. Tubbo screamed and jumped between The Angel and Tommy. Ranboo panicked and looked down at Tommy, having realized the chirp was to get The Angel's attention. The Angel's wings moved closer behind him and he looked around, taking in his surroundings. He then caught sight of Tommy behind Tubbo and walked over.

"Piss off! We don't need you here." The Angel cawed at Tubbo in anger and Tubbo glared at him. Ranboo tapped Tubbo's shoulder and Tubbo looked back at him. Ranboo kept an eye on The Angel and whispered to Tubbo.

"I think Tommy called for him to come. That's what the chirp was." Tubbo made a face of realization and looked at Tommy, and slapped Tommy's shoulder, mumbling 'asshole' at him.

"I was called here. What is the issue?" The door burst open and someone neither Ranboo or Tubbo knew ran in. The person looked like royalty? But royalty was fake and they didn't wear sunglasses inside. Why was this guy wearing sunglasses?

"Out of the way." The guy pushed Ranboo out of the way of Tommy and crouched next to him. Ranboo screeched and everyone covered their ears. Well, except for Tommy.

"Never do tha again dickead" Ranboo smiled apologetically at Tommy and the guy went back to checking Tommy out. Tubbo and The Angel moved their hands away from their ears and glared at Ranboo.

"Everyone stop. Who are you?" The guy looked at Ranboo and stood up.

"Eret. You won't remember that by the end of today." Tubbo looked confused and looked at Ranboo and The Angel. Good news is neither of them looked any more informed either. But that's also bad news.

"Wait, were you also called here?" Eret nodded and Tubbo sighed heavily. The mask. Tommy called two people here.

"Will someone let me over to him now?" Tubbo turned around and glared at The Angel.

"Fuck you." The Angel rolled his eyes and huffed angrily.

"You let the stranger see him but not me?" The Angel's wings flapped angrily and Tubbo crossed his arms.

"The stranger didn't get him into this mess in the first place." The Angel looked shocked and calmed down. Tubbo realized who Eret was. Tubbo turned to Eret. "OH. You're the connection, aren't you?" Eret nodded sharply and Tubbo hummed.

"I'm sorry, what?" Tubbo rolled his eyes and looked at Ranboo, mouthing 'I'll explain later'. Ranboo nodded uncertainly and Tommy sighed.

"Feee blood, memory erasore. Problem solved." Tubbo grimaced and ran his fingers through Tommy's hair.

"No more talking. It's ok, you can almost rest." Tommy hummed quietly and Tubbo looked at Ranboo.

"Can we transfer blood from here?" Ranboo grimaced and looked around.

"Uh, safely? No. Is it possible? Yes." Tubbo bit his lip and nodded sharply at Ranboo.

"Do it." Ranboo nodded and ran off. Tubbo huffed and sat Tommy up. "Angel, sit next to him." The Angel moved closer but didn't sit down. Tubbo turned and glared at him. "You want to help? Sit the fuck down and do as you're told." The Angel glared at Tubbo but sat down next to Tommy. Tubbo grimaced and moves Tommy so his back was against the back of the couch. Tommy kept almost falling and his head wouldn't stay up so Tubbo looked at Eret.

"Get behind the couch and hold him up." Eret nodded and did as he was told. Once he was holding Tommy up properly Tubbo let go and looked around to find out where Ranboo went. Ranboo ran out of the bedroom a few seconds later with a syringe and a needle connected by a small tube. Ranboo ran over to them and rolled up The Angel's sleeve. The Angel sat in silent compliance and Ranboo poked the syringe into The Angel's arm after a second of looking for a vein. Ranboo pressed his fingertip against the needle after the tube was mostly filled with blood, then grabbed Tommy's arm, found a vein, and stuck the needle in. He held both of the needles in place and looked at Tubbo.

"We need to keep an eye on both of their blood pressures." Tubbo grabbed the makeshift stethoscope and blood pressure cuff and tied the cuff around Tommy's arm. He moved his hand in place of Ranboo's on Tommy's arm and Ranboo let go of the needle. He checked Tommy's blood pressure and everyone was quiet as he checked it. Ranboo moved away from Tommy after a minute and pulled the cuff off. He then went to The Angel and checked his blood pressure. Ranboo nodded after another few minutes of silence and went back to Tommy. He opened Tommy's eyelid and shone his phone's flashlight in Tommy's eye. Of course he covered most of the flashlight but he still did it and it was worth mentioning as far as Tubbo was concerned. Ranboo set down his phone and the blood pressure stuff and moved his hand back to Tommy's arm.

"Ok Tubbo, go get The Angel some sugar water. Also get some for Tommy, we'll probably have to force feed him again." Tubbo groaned and moved his hand away. He stood up and went to the kitchen to get the water.

"I'm sorry, sugar water?" Ranboo nodded and The Angel took a deep breath.

"Yes. To raise your blood sugar after this. Tommy's is naturally low and you're giving him quite a bit of blood because he was bleeding out all the way home so your blood sugar will be low. Sugar water is about all we can afford so we make it work." The Angel nodded slowly and looked at the kitchen.

"You guys are very resourceful. And smart. If you'd like, I can toss your name around our medical wing at HQ." Ranboo looked at The Angel and he smiled at him.

"That would be amazing. It's not really something we can afford though." The Angel raised his eyebrow and chuckles.

"Kid, your training would be paid for you and you'd make money as a nurse for the time being. Where does your money go?" Ranboo bit his lip and moved his head towards Tommy's face, listening to Tommy's breathing.

"Tubbo pays our expenses. Ask him." The Angel nodded and Eret sighed. Tubbo came out of the kitchen and handed The Angel a cup of water. Tubbo went over to Tommy and pushed Ranboo's head out of the way.

"Hey, Tubbo right?" Tubbo looked at The Angel and decided it wasn't worth it to even acknowledge him. "Where does the money Tommy makes go?" Tubbo blinked at The Angel and turned his attention back to Tommy. He forced Tommy's mouth open and slowly poured a small bit of water in his mouth.

"It goes towards putting food on our plates and repairs for this place. You did not want to be here last week, it was horrible." The Angel hummed and drank his water. It wasn't actually that bad. Ranboo took the syringe out of The Angel's arm and took the needle out of Tommy's arm. He put an emoji bandaid on both of their arms and kissed Tommy's arm. Tubbo smiled and force fed Tommy more. Tommy groaned quietly and Tubbo ran his fingers through Tommy's hair.

"Why did he leave the tower alone?" The Angel frowned slightly and sighed. He didn't want to answer Ranboo's question but he knew he owed them an explanation.

"I went back on our deal. I tried to keep him there against his will because he had aided in keeping important information from me. I just didn't want him to leave the tower tonight to show that it wasn't ok to lie to me. I didn't mean for him to leave." Ranboo nodded slowly and Tubbo gave Tommy a bit more water.

"Sounds fucked up to me. He's going to wake up in a minute so, apologize to him." The Angel looked at Eret and sighed.

"I still don't even know who you are, why would I take orders from you?" Eret stared at him and The Angel sighed.

"Because you owe him an apology, and it's not about me. He deserves his rights being respected." The Angel looked at Tommy, really looked at him. Looked at the paleness of his skin and the bags under his eyes. He'd been held captive, and The Angel had tried to hold him against his will. There was no longer a doubt in The Angel's mind that he had caused Tommy's pain today, and he'd do anything to make up for it.
