Chapter 32

I forgot to post last week. I've been super busy. Sorry about that. So you will be getting an update from me this week and next! We are continuing from where the last chapter left off. I hope that you enjoy!

"It was a fellow witch was letting me know that there's been a coven wreaking havoc recently and they are making their way to this town in Daegu," Hyunjin says, "This is the final stop and they have reason to believe that it's cause they're coming for me."

"Why would they come for you?" Felix asks.

"I don't know exactly, but most of the time it's cause they want one of my spells," Hyunjin says, "In this situation, I think it's different though. This coven is made up of four girls. The head recently died and they're mourning her. I think they're just upset and trying to get their emotions out."

"That still doesn't explain why they want you," Chan says.

"It doesn't matter," Hyunjin states, "I am a very wanted man, Channie. The point is that I won't allow them to continue on this rampage of theirs through my town regardless if they have a nonsensical vendetta against me or not."

"Okay, okay," Chan says, "You know that we're not letting you do this alone, so what can we do to help?"

Hyunjin sighs, "I know this coven. I used to be close with their head, so I know all the girl's pretty well. They were a respectable group of witches, but considering their recent choices that has changed. If that's true, they'll be easy to lure in. I have another location in the backend of town where I do my business. If you could, lead them there. I'll be waiting with a trap, so we can question them."

"How do you suggest we do that?" Felix asks, "Cause...I assume forcing them there at gunpoint isn't an option."

"It is," Hyunjin says, "But, I wouldn't go with it. Even though witch-killing bullets do the deed, we have ways of avoiding getting hit with them. They'll spell you before you even get the chance to aim."

"We don't want that," Chan says.

"Definitely," Hyunjin states, "I know this will probably damage your ego or something, but play the dumb men card."

"Excuse me?" Felix questions with a raise of an eyebrow.

"You know the whole hey girl, you're so beautiful and pretty, I couldn't help but walk over," Hyunjin says, "Do you want to hang out?" The cousin's flash Hyunjin a look that is a mix of fear and disgust. Hyunjin shrugs, "It makes you come off as easy prey." Chan and Felix exchange nervous glances with one another finding Hyunjin's suggestion sort of risky. They're hunters, not actors. The chances of this going haywire is high. "We won't get spelled, will we?" Chan asks.

"If you play your part well, you should be fine," Hyunjin says, "And if you do, I'll do my best to fix it."

"That's reassuring," Felix mumbles.

"So, are you still in?" Hyunjin says, "If not, it's not a big deal." Felix and Chan look at one another again for a second before letting out sighs. "We're in," Chan states.

"Okay then," Hyunjin says, running a hand through his hair, "Let's get to work."

──────●◎●──────

Felix and Chan walk side by side down the sidewalk, trying to act as inconspicuous as they possibly can. They've been keeping an eye out for the three witches, but so far they haven't found anyone that could be their targets. The town is pretty quiet considering it is midafternoon and the only people out are an elderly couple by the bench and some kids playing hopscotch. "You know we've walked back and forth ten times already," Felix mutters.

"I know," Chan says, "But, Hyunjin said they would be here any minute now."

"He said that about an hour ago and we still haven't seen them," Felix huffs. Chan opens his mouth to speak again, but is cut off by the growling engine of a car coming racing down the street. It's a large black vehicle that has its windows down. The driver is wearing a cowgirl like style hat and has short hair that reaches her shoulders. She has a smirk on her face as she turns recklessly into a parking spot. The other two in the car climb out of the vehicle with cocky looks on their faces. One has auburn brown hair that reaches her lower back and she has circular blue earrings and necklace on. The other has straight black hair and winged eyeliner as well as a large assortment of chunky bracelets hanging on her wrists. "Here they are," Chan mutters. Felix nods his head and begins to walk over to them in the douchiest way he can possibly muster. Chan eyes his cousin's action, finding him stupid looking, but proceeds to mirror his actions. They both try to maintain that air around them as they approach the three witches. "Hi, ladies," Felix says, cringing at his behavior. The three girls share a quick look before flashing the cousins wide grins. "Hi," The one in the hat says.

"Where are you coming from?" Felix asks.

"Oh, you know...here and there..." The girl with black hair says.

"That sounds interesting," Chan pipes in, "Maybe, you three would be interested in telling us more about your travels..."

"We don't even know your names yet," The one with blue colored jewelry says.

"I'm Yongbok and this is my brother Chris," Felix states, "Problem solved. Now, you know who we are."

"Well, we should introduce ourselves too then. It would be rude not to," The girl with short hair says, "I'm Ryujin."

"I'm Lia," The girl with brown hair says, "And this is Yuna." The girl with black hair waves at the two cousins, who force a smile onto their faces. "So, what do you say?" Chan asks, "We have a place where we could talk alone if you're worried about other people listening in."

"Oh, that sounds great," Yuna says, "Doesn't it?" She looks to the other girls, who nod their heads. "Lead the way," Ryujin says. Chan and Felix gestures for them to follow before taking the lead and directing them towards Hyunjin's secret building. The cousins whisper to each other as they do, pretending to make it seem like they are chatting about the girls and occasionally sneaking a peek behind them to see the smug looks on the witches faces. The three truly believe that Chan and Felix were easy targets to torture. The group continues to walk until they come to the medium sized building that is run down and appears empty. "Is it safe to be here?" Lia asks.

"Of course," Felix says in an overly loud voice, "Come on." He leads them towards a large entrance area that was probably used for vehicles to enter. It is only covered with strips of plastic that reach from the top to the bottom. Chan and Felix push them to the side and hold them back so that the girls can walk through easily. They beam at their actions and make their way into the warehouse which is dimly lit with a small overhead light. "Go down the hall," Felix says, "We cleaned up that area and we have like couches and stuff we can sit on."

"Sounds good," Yuna says, linking arms with Ryujin and Lia as they follow the hunters' directions. Chan and Felix exchange a glance as they trail behind the girls, putting just enough distance between them so that they don't get in the crossfire of the spell their friend is going to use to capture the witches. They enter an area that is decorated similarly to the way Hyunjin's flat was. There are fairy lights wrapped around the poles and large wooden shelves stocked with witchey like objects and books. There's a large circular table where a large bowl sits. Hyunjin stands in front of it with his hands raised. The three witches all stiffen when they spot the witch, who waves at them before quickly chanting. "Neque alliges, infurmantur, captis!" Hyunjin exclaims as the bowl begins to smoke and the girls shriek in surprise. They hiss as sigils appear on their hands and they glare at Hyunjin. "Voila," The male witch says, flashing the hunters a smile as they inch over to stand beside him, "Sit tight, girls, you aren't going anywhere."

──────●◎●──────

"You can't keep us here," Ryujin growls.

"As long as that mark is on your wrist, you're not going anywhere," Hyunjin says, "Don't even bother trying to remove it. It nullifies your abilities. Not that you would be able to anyway, it's something I whipped up myself." The long-haired witch takes a seat in a plush rolling chair and gestures for the two hunters to do the same along a couch nearby the three witches, who are glued to the spot where they stand. "Now, now, we have some questions," Hyunjin says, "If you answer them, I may just let you go."

"Screw you, Hwang Hyunjin," Yuna spats.

Hyunjin tuts, "Really? You know you used to respect me, Yuna-ssi..."

"I could never respect someone like you," Yuna states, "I'm disgusted that I ever did."

"Why is that?" Chan asks, "From what Hyunjin tells us, he was close with you three."

Lia ignores the Aussie and looks right at her fellow witch, "I can't believe that you enlisted the help of idiotic hunters to capture us. That's a new low for you considering you pride yourself in going after your own people."

"I can't believe that you fell right into our trap," Hyunjin shakes his head, "These so called idiotic hunters were able to pull one over on all three of you." The three witches frown at this, upset and annoyed that they did trust and believe the facade the two cousins were wearing. "As for myself, I believe that I ally myself with the proper people," Hyunjin says, "Channie and Lixie brought you right to my doorstep. Thank you again for that, boys..."

"Of course," Felix says, leaning into the seat and crossing his arms over his chest.

Hyunjin smiles, "Now...answer Channie's question. Why are you so annoyed with me that you've decided to go on the witch tour of 2022 with your closing act in Daegu?"

Ryujin scoffs, "You know what you did."

"I actually for once have no clue," Hyunjin says.

"Don't lie!" Yuna exclaims, "This is about Yeji noona...."

"Yeji was my friend," Hyunjin states calmly.

"Some friend you are," Lia frowns, "You sold her out!"

"What?" Hyunjin questions in a confused tone.

"Don't even try to deny it," Ryujin huffs, "The hunter confirmed it. He said he was your friend. He said that you asked him to deal with Yeji cause she was becoming too strong."

Hyunjin chuckles, "Okay, now I know for sure that's not true. Yeji is a good witch, but she is nowhere near my level. And in what world would Hwang Hyunjin be threatened by another witch? I'm at the top in terms of power level..." The girls don't seem very pleased by the male witch's words and all try to lunge at him even though they can't due to the trapping spell. The hunter cousin's eye the rather feisty witches warily and then glance at the ever so relaxed Hyunjin. "Hey, maybe, you don't want to provoke them," Chan says.

"Don't worry," Hyunjin says, "They won't get out and if they do I can deal with it."

"You're too cocky Hwang!" Ryujin hisses, "It's going to be the death of you."

"Sure," Hyunjin shrugs, "Whatever you say. Now, I know that Yeji was killed by a hunter but why would that hunter be my friend?"

"Everyone knows that you have allies amongst them," Yuna says, "You even hunted our kind alongside them once or twice."

"Yes, I have friends who are hunters, but I would never send one of them to do my dirty business," Hyunjin states, "If I had a score to settle with Yeji, I would have gone myself. Not that I had any issues with her anyway."

"Then, why did the hunter say that he was sent by you!?" Lia growls.

"How could I know?" Hyunjin questions, "He was probably lying to you from the get go."

"Or you're lying to us right now!!!" Lia shouts.

"I'm not," Hyunjin huffs, annoyed with how this conversation is going, "Tell me. Who was this hunter? What was his name? What did he look like?"

"Kim Wonpil," Ryujin states, "He said you've been friends for a very long time." Hyunjin stiffens and he looks over to his friends whose expressions mirror his own. "You do know him," Yuna says, "You lied. You did send him!"

"Hey, hey, I know him, but I never told him to go after Yeji," Hyunjin says quickly, "I don't even think I ever mentioned her to him."

"Then, how did he find us!? Why did he go after her? Yeji never did anything wrong!" Lia exclaims.

"I don't know!" Hyunjin fires back, "I don't even know why he would bring me up!"

"It may have to do with the fact that he tried to kill you..." Felix mutters under his breath. All the people in the room turn to look at him and the freckled boy turns red, not having thought he spoke that loudly. "Your hunter friend tried to kill you?" Ryujin questions, the anger in her voice softening a bit after finding out this information..

Hyunjin scoffs and crosses his arms over his chest, "He isn't much of a friend now and yes, he did try to kill me. He pointed a gun loaded with witch killing bullets on me behind my back. He didn't go through with it though, but what does that have to do with this situation, Felix?"

"Well, you said that Wonpil didn't make another attempt to kill you that night," Felix says, "But, that doesn't mean that he didn't try again in a different way. It would've been suspicious if he came up to you again, so he crafted a plan to use those three to finish you off."

"Do you think he actually did that?" Hyunjin questions.

"It's just a hunch, but if Wonpil killed Yeji and left the other three unharmed, isn't that a bit suspicious?" Felix says.

Chan purses his lips together and nods, "Normally, a hunter would never let the rest of a witch's coven walk away unharmed unless he had a use for you."

"Are you saying that we've been played?" Lia questions.

"It's a possibility," Felix says, "Didn't you find it weird that Wonpil just left you three be after shooting Yeji? Even if he told you that Hyunjin sent him to go after just her, a hunter has never been one to follow orders and definitely would've gone after the rest of you. Wonpil played you perfectly. He gave you exactly who he wanted dead and let you loose to finish what he couldn't."

"We...we never thought of it like that," Yuna murmurs.

"We don't even know if that's true," Hyunjin sighs, "But, if it is, there's nothing that can be done now. Yeji is still dead and the three of you still have come all this way just to kill me."

"Not if you didn't do it," Ryujin says, "We wouldn't want to kill you if you aren't behind her death."

"Well, I'm not," Hyunjin states.

"Then, we won't kill you, but we do have a score to settle with Kim Wonpil," Ryujin says.

"Oh, someone has already beat you to it," Hyunjin says, "He apparently angered more than just you three."

"Well, that makes things easier for us. We won't have to get our hands dirty after all," Lia says, "We're sorry for the trouble we caused. We'll never bother you again."

"You're just saying that cause you want me to remove those sigils," Hyunjin says.

"Maybe," Lia huffs, "As nice as this has been I would rather be at home than here." Hyunjin glances over at the two hunter cousins, who nod their heads. The witch sighs and mumbles words under his breath. The sigils on the three witches' hands fade as he does. "You're lucky you didn't hurt anyone during your rampage," Hyunjin says, "Or else I never would've let you go."

"Yeji drew a line when it came to mortally wounding anyone," Yuna says, "Even if she's gone, our coven will still follow that rule."

"I hope so," Hyunjin says, "Or I will find you again, girls. I promise you that."

──────●◎●──────

"So, what are you two going to do now?" Hyunjin asks. The three are back in Hyunjin's apartment flat, chatting after the coven left town with the pledge to not bother any other town along their way. Felix shrugs, "Hit the road again? We've almost made our way through the entirety of Wonpil's journal."

"You still want to figure out what happened," Hyunjin says in surprise, "Even after finding out what went down here..."

Chan sighs, "I've realized that Wonpil is not as good of a person as I wish him to be. He's way past being anything remotely close to good. But, I still need to know what led to his end. Maybe, it's cause I knew him before he changed and became whatever he was before he died. Maybe, there's a part of me that hopes his story is different from the one we have built in our heads. Whatever the reason is, I can't quell that part of myself that still is a tad bit curious about what happened to him." Hyunjin nods in understanding. The witch shifts a bit in his seat and lets out a sigh, but doesn't say anything else after that. "I'm sorry," Chan says quickly.

Hyunjin blinks before smiling, "Why?"

"I know after what you went through...you probably don't want any of us to be involved or hear or deal with anything with Wonpil," Chan says.

Hyunjin blows air from his mouth and taps his fingers on his knee, "It doesn't sit well with me. That's all. I won't stop you two from continuing your journey. I couldn't do that to you. Just promise me that if you reach a point where you can't stomach searching any longer...don't push yourself to find the answer and just stop." The cousins nod their heads, agreeing to do what their witch friend asks, partially cause they don't want to upset the boy, but mainly because they themselves don't feel the energy or the want to drag this journey of discovering who Kim Wonpil has turned into any longer.

What do you all think? I had just as much fun writing this chapter as I did the last one. I love the witch storylines in Supernatural, so making one of my own with SKZ was super fun. What's your thoughts on Wonpil and his insane actions? How far do you think he's gone? And why? Let me know your theories in the comments below! I hope you have a great rest of your day and I will see you all in the next chapter! Bye ❤️
