Chapter 28
Hi, everyone. It's been a while. If you didn't see my message, I've been pretty busy these past few weeks and haven't had a chance to update, but I am finally back. Just as a refresher, last chapter Chan and Felix went to this hidden bunker that Wonpil ran and bumped into Gwen, a character from the Supernatural TV show. They learned about Wonpil's involvement with alphas which are the first of a kind of creature (ie, the first vampire, the first shifter). With that said, let's get back into the story. I hope you all enjoy!
"That's the alpha," Gwen murmurs.
"What?" Felix questions.
Gwen discreetly points at the werewolf in the coat, "Him. I thought Wonpil killed him."
"Well, he clearly didn't," Felix scowls as a werewolf takes a step closer to them. Chan scrunches up his nose as the monsters come closer. "Lix!" Chan exclaims taking a step back. Felix grits his teeth and shoves his hand into his pocket. He pulls out two magazines of silver bullets. He passes one to his cousin, who quickly reloads his gun. Felix does the same before pointing his weapon at the werewolves. "Use them wisely," Felix states, "I don't have more rounds."
"Great," Chan huffs as one of the monster's starts charging at him. The blonde fires off a quick shot and the werewolf falls to the ground. This seems to be the signal for the rest of the wolves to come charging at the three hunters. They are pushed back as they try to put more distance between themselves and the snarling creatures wanting to rip their hearts out. Chan and Felix continue to fire their guns, taking out a couple of creatures that get a tad bit too close. Gwen sticks close by them, not having a weapon of her own that would do any real damage to a werewolf. "Gwen...does this place have anything we can use?" Chan asks, "This gun isn't going to last forever."
"There's the silver torture devices," Gwen says, "But, other than that..."
"It will have to do," Felix says, firing his gun at a female creature, "We're not really in the position to be picky." Gwen nods her head and runs a hand through her hair. "I can lead us to the room where we kept the werewolf alpha..." She says.
"We'll cover you," Chan states. Gwen nods before turning around and darting down the hall. The cousins follow her, shooting behind them every so often to keep the wolves at a safe enough distance. Felix grimaces when his gun makes a clicking noise, signaling that it's out of bullets. Chan pushes his cousin to the side, "Go." Felix hesitates for a second before turning and running, leaving Chan to deal with the other werewolves. The blonde hunter shoots three more creatures in the chest before slipping into the room where the other two are. The hunters stand near the middle of the room where the large cage is. Gwen has a medium sized silver blade in her hand while Felix is wearing silver knuckles. Chan jogs over to them and points his gun towards the doorway. He can hear the sounds of the werewolves scrambling towards them. He narrows his eyes and keeps his hands still. They don't have to wait long as the monsters begin to pour into the room. Gwen slices at the wolves and stabs them, splattering blood on her clothes. It doesn't seem to bother her though as she continues to kill another wolf without a second of hesitation. Felix slams his fists into a werewolf man's cheek, sending his head snapping back. He fires another blow at his chest until the creature fall to the floor in pain. Felix doesn't get a break as a woman creature tries to creep up on him. The freckled hunter is quicker though and gets her into a headlock. Chan fires his gun until he is also out of ammo. He quickly switches to using silver chains as a whip against the creatures. He drags one of the wolves by their neck around the ground as he howls in pain. Although, it may seem like the three hunters are doing well, it is only a matter of time before the tide turns. The amount of werewolves coming at them is overwhelming. They're only three people in the end and even they can't do much when it comes to this many monsters. Felix winces as he barely dodges a wolf coming to chomp down on his shoulder. "We need a plan," He shouts as he side steps away from a charging werewolf.
"Agreed," Chan states as he struggles against a werewolf, who is trying to drag him to the floor. Gwen purses her lips together as she looks around the room. "Do you guys trust me?" Gwen calls out as she lunges out of the way of a werewolf trying to claw at her neck.
"I trust you more than this guy," Felix huffs, slamming his hand into the werewolves neck.
"Go into the cage," Gwen states.
"What!?" Chan exclaims, wondering if he's heard right.
"They can't get to us if we're in there," Gwen says.
"And we can't get out," Felix says, "It'll be like going into the ocean to swim with sharks!"
"We'll figure that out later," Gwen says, "C'mon, you know I'm right." Felix looks over at Chan, who glances back at his cousin. He nods his head and Felix sighs. "Let's do it," Felix says before pushing two werewolves to the side and darting into the open cage. Chan tosses the metal chains at a werewolf before following his cousin. Gwen stabs a werewolf right in the neck before grabbing the lanyard sticking out of her pocket and taking it out. There's a key at the end that she grips as she enters the cage. She drags the door shut as she gets inside and sticks her hand through the grating to lock them in. The hunters stand in the middle of the cage as the werewolves start to surround them. A few touch the metal bars, but flinch and howl in pain as the silver burns them. As the rest of the wolves realize that they can't reach the hunters, they proceed to just circle them like an animal waiting to pounce on their prey. The three within the cage exchange a glance with one another before warily looking at the creatures who continue to growl at them and bare their teeth.

"This is fun," Felix sighs, "So, what is the plan?"
"We could call for backup," Chan says.
"That would have to be a lot of backup," Gwen says, "And I don't know if they'll be able to make it right away. We may be stuck here for a while."
"Maybe, we can talk to them," Chan says, "This entire thing seems to be a misunderstanding. I mean we never did anything to them."
"Well, Wonpil and Gwen did," Felix says, "They captured their alpha." The freckled hunter's words seem to stir up the werewolves, who start to scratch at the bars of the cage regardless of the fact that it is silver. "Now, now, my children, hurting yourselves to get to them is unnecessary," A loud booming voice states. With those words the werewolves all step away from the cage and tilt their heads down. The hunters look at the source of the noise where a man in a long black coat is leaning on the doorframe. "Werewolf alpha," Gwen mutters causing the cousins to stiffen at the major monster standing in front of them.
"Wow, it looks so different from the other side," The man says as he casually walks into the room, "I never would have expected for you to go in there willingly..."
"We didn't have a choice," Felix says through gritted teeth.
"Yes, well, my goal was to overwhelm," The alpha says, nearing the cage. He smiles up at the hunters, who scowls and glare at them both. "We don't want any trouble," Chan says, "You've lost a couple of your children already today. If you just let us go, we won't hurt any more of them."
"I can just make more children," The alpha says, "I can't just let you three go. At least not until I've had my revenge."
"If you're mad for being locked up in here, it's not our fault," Felix says, "My cousin and I had nothing to do with it. This was on Wonpil and Gwen."
"Hey!" Gwen exclaims.
"Yeah, hey!" Chan says.
"Wonpil is gone, hyung," Felix says, "And he tortured the werewolf alpha. He asked for this." Chan crosses his arms over his chest and scowls. "Wonpil?" The alpha questions, "Is he the brown-haired hunter?"
"He was," Felix states, "He's dead."
The alpha sighs, "I was supposed to kill him." Chan frowns at this even though he knows that Wonpil tortured the werewolf in front of him and is probably deserving of the alpha's words and cruelty. "Well, someone beat you to it," Felix says, "So, you might as well just let us go. We have no beef with you and you have none with us."
"How would it look if I were to let three hunters go?" The alpha asks.
"Like you're being a fair person," Felix says.
"You think I am fair?" The alpha questions.
"I think that you have no reason to go after the three of us," Felix says, "In the end, it was Wonpil that hurt you. Since he's out of the picture, your mission has no purpose." The alpha narrows his eyes for a second as he falls silent. He purses his lips together in thought as he paces around the room. The hunters watch him, wary of his decision. "Fine," The alpha says after a bit of time has passed, "I will let you go. I hope that friend of yours rots in hell. He did things that not even an honorable alpha would." With that said, he signals for his fellow werewolves to leave the room. The hunters watch as the creatures exit the building, leaving the behind.

"As nice as this has been, I hope I never have to see you two again," Gwen says. The three are exiting the building together and are heading towards their respective vehicles.. "Agreed," Felix states, "You're involved in things that I don't want anything to do with."
"And I don't need to be near hunters who are so willing to throw a fellow hunter to the wolves," Gwen says, "Literally..." With that said, Gwen walks away from the cousins and to her car which she parked in the back. Chan and Felix let her go and make their way towards their own car. "She can't be that bad," Chan murmurs.
"Huh?" Felix questions.
"Gwen can't be a bad person," Chan says, "Wonpil trusted her to help him out."
"To do some pretty crappy things to monsters," Felix says, "And this is coming from me, your resident monster hunter, who believes anything that isn't human should be killed."
Chan purses his lips together and sighs, "I just don't understand why Wonpil would do this. The more we continue retracing his steps the worse things we find. I'm starting to think that maybe he was asking for his death and he deserved what he got. He made enemies of alpha monsters. That's a big deal..." Felix raises his eyebrows and looks at his cousin in surprise. His words make it seem like he is being more accepting of the fact that Wonpil has turned into a bad guy. He is impressed and ultimately happy that his cousin is finally starting to be more accepting of it. "Who else did he anger, Lix?" Chan questions, "Who did he piss off so much that he wasn't accepted through heaven's gates?"
"I don't know, hyung," Felix says, "I really don't know..."
