Chapter 21
Hi! I am back with a new chapter. I have absolutely nothing to talk about in this author's note, so let's get right into it!
Then: Gimpo
Wonpil hums under his breath as he walks in the grass towards a blue sandbox. He is at a children's playground which is completely empty. It's chilly outside and the hunter is garbed in a tan coat and he has a silver angel blade in his hand. He crouches down as he reaches the sandbox which has an interesting design of circles and lines on the sand. He tilts his head as he looks at, almost like he's studying it. "What is this sigil?" Wonpil asks, "I mean it's something I've never seen before." He brings his hand up and lets it hover over the design. He frowns when nothing seems to happen. He sighs and slowly stands up, "How does this work? Does it only allow angels to use it? What would happen if a human like myself would try to enter?" He looks behind him and awaits for an answer. He tuts and shakes his head when he receives none. "You're no help," Wonpil states, staring at the dead body on the ground that has ashy b black wings imprinted on the ground underneath him.

Now
"He killed an angel?" Felix asks, "Why?"
"It doesn't say," Chan answers, "This journal entry is pretty short. He just wrote that he killed an angel and there's this address written as well, but that's pretty much it. He doesn't go into why he went after feathers or what the case really even was." The two are seated within a pop up tent where they are grabbing a late lunch. They just arrived in town less than an hour ago and they are exhausted from their long trip. "That's weird," Felix says, "Usually, Wonpil shares everything about his hunt in a certain town." Chan nods his head as the waitress comes over and places a bowl of steaming noodles in front of each of them. They both mouth thank you to the woman before she walks away. "It could mean something," Chan says, "This case is clearly different. Maybe, here we'll find out what Wonpil was doing that led to his death."
"Maybe," Felix murmurs, "What about that address?"
"Give me a sec," Chan says as he taps on his phone that sits on the table beside him. Felix takes this as an opportunity to start eating his food, watching as his cousin searches the location up online. "Got it," Chan says, "It's a playground near an old school."
"A playground?" Felix questions, "That's random."
"Wonpil wrote it down," Chan says, "I'm guessing it's important."
"We'll go there after lunch then," Felix says. Chan nods and pushes his belongings to the side so that he can focus on the bowl of food in front of him.

"Okay," Felix says as the cousins walk across the grass and to the playground that has slides and structures in a green and brown theme, "This looks like a normal playground."
"Yeah," Chan murmurs as they look around the area.
"I don't know what we're supposed to find here, hyung," Felix says.
Chan nods, "I'm sure something happened here. I mean why else would Wonpil make note of it, but there's nothing that stands out to me."
"The only thing that is a tad bit weird is that sandbox," Felix states, pointing towards the design that spans the entirety of the sand. Chan glances at it and nods his head in agreement. It's interesting, but it doesn't exactly scream supernatural. "I don't think there's anything here that is worth our time," Felix says, "Maybe, Wonpil wrote the address down incorrectly."
Chan shakes his head, "He doesn't make those kinds of mistakes. I'm sure we're just missing something. This place is important, I know it." Felix shrugs his shoulders and watches as his cousin starts to look around once again for the reason that Wonpil wrote this location in his journal. "I feel like we're wasting our time here, hyung," Felix sighs, "There isn't anything here."
"There is," Chan states in a firm tone. Felix opens his mouth to say differently, but is cut off by another unknown voice. "There is," The voice says, "You humans are standing right in front of the gateway to heaven."
Chan eyes widen, "I know that voice."
"You should, Mr. Bang Chan," The voice says before revealing himself, "I'm not someone that's easily forgettable." He comes from around the playground structure and flashes the cousins a smirk. He is garbed in a long gray coat and a white shirt underneath. His black hair is combed nicely and he leans against one of the poles comfortably. Felix's eyes narrow, a feeling deja vu passing over him as he glances at his cousin, "Another monster friend?"
"Monster?" The young man scoffs, "Please. I am no monster, Felix Lee. I am an angel of the lord."

"You're not going to start threatening to kill him, are you?" Chan asks in a quiet tone.
Felix shakes his head, "I never know what to consider angels. They aren't human and they aren't monsters. They're something else entirely. They're supposed to be good though, so unless he does something that warrants me to shove a blade through his chest then you have nothing to worry about." Chan nods, happy that at least one of his friends won't have to deal with Felix going all crazy hunter. "What are you doing here, Minho?" Chan asks.
"Guarding the gate," Minho says plainly, "Can't have random people trying to get into heaven."
Felix stares at the sandbox with intrigue, "That thing really leads up there."
"Yup," Minho says, "I wouldn't try it if I were you though. I don't think it will transport humans. We haven't tested it to see what happens if you do, but rumor has it that it turns you guys into slush."
"Noted," Felix says, taking a step away from the box.
"Since when has this been your job?" Chan asks, "You're usually guarding the souls in heaven, not on Earth."
"Well, since the last angel that was here got killed, the higher ups thought it would be best if a trained angel came to protect the gate," Minho answers, "Thankfully, whoever offed my predecessor didn't seem to be able to get into heaven or do anything to the entrance, but they still wanted to ensure something like that never happened again. So, here I am."
"You don't seem to be happy about it," Felix says.
"I love Earth. Truly," Minho says, "But, it isn't home. As much as I love talking about myself and my doings, why are you here? Cause...you're not exactly supposed to be. I mean...I have orders to kill anyone who isn't an angel that comes here." Chan and Felix both stiffen at that and reach for their weapons hidden beneath their clothes. "Oh, don't do that, I won't actually hurt you," Minho says, "You're my friend, Chan. Felix is your cousin. I'm not a dick."
"Angels usually are," Chan says.
"Not this one," Minho states.
"Changbin begs to differ," Chan says.
Minho scoffs, "That demon is a terrible judge of character, but that's beside the point. What are you two doing here?" Chan quickly fills Minho in on their journey and what they've been up to. Minho nods his head as he takes this all in. He frowns a bit when Chan mentions what Wonpil did in this town and how he had written this exact address down. "Wonpil killed an angel?" Minho questions in surprise.
"That's what he said he did," Felix says.
Minho shakes his head and mutters, "That means...he killed Seokmin..."
"Huh?" Chan asks, "Who's that?"
"The guard that was here before me," Minho says, "Remember, I told you that we found him dead by the gate."
"Yeah, you think that Wonpil killed him?" Chan asks in surprise.
Minho sighs, "I don't know. Maybe. The fact that he wrote it down and he wrote this location makes me believe that he did."
"Why would he do that?" Felix asks, "Did Seokmin do something?"
"Seokmin's only job is to guard the gate," Minho says, "He couldn't have done anything."
"I still don't understand why you think it was Wonpil that killed the angel that was guarding the gate to heaven," Chan states.
"We never found who did the deed," Minho says, "We looked, but we couldn't find Seokmin's killer. Come to think of it...Wonpil was helping me out."
"He was?" Felix questions.
"He approached me while I was surveying the scene and offered to give me a hand. He said that he was driving by and he spotted me and wanted to see what was going on. I believed him at the time, but it makes sense now why we never found who did it," Minho says, "Wonpil was helping us out. I never would have thought of him as a possible suspect. It all makes sense."
"Wonpil could've killed any angel, you can't just assume that it was Seokmin-ssi," Chan says.
Minho nods, "You're right."
"Can't you check?" Felix asks, "Wonpil's soul is up there. You're an angel that has full range of heaven. Why don't you go ask him yourself?"
"I'll have to report exactly why I am visiting one of the souls," Minho says, "The angels may want to dispel him from heaven even for just suspicion of possibly killing a fellow angel. I don't know if that's a risk you want to take." Felix looks over at his cousin, who has his lips pursed and his hands clenched into fists. His facial expression is conflicted, not knowing if finding the truth about this is worth the risk of Wonpil not receiving a proper rest. Still, they're trying to figure out what exactly happened along Wonpil's journey. If they speak to his soul, maybe they can find out the entire truth right away instead of in bits and pieces as they attempt to retrace the late hunter's steps. "Do it," Chan states, "I want to know what he says."
"Okay then," Minho says, "Stay here. I'll be back." The cousins nod their heads and the angel walks towards the gateway to heaven with his mission in mind.
Minho is here! And he's an angel? If anyone knows what the angels in Supernatural are like, then you'll get the choice. It makes perfect sense. Anyway, I also included a member of SVT in this fic so maybe we'll see more of them soon since they are another one of my ult groups. We also are digging more into the mystery about Wonpil. He was involved with angels and the gate to heaven. What do you think it means? Let me know in the comments below. While you're at it, please vote, follow me, add this chapter to your library and check out my other SKZ story Collision Course! Until next time. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
