CHAPTER 3

The first of the strangers was male. His tall skinny body paired with well with his fair dirty blonde hair, and the enthusiasm in his voice made it hard to take him seriously at times. Hanging on the bridge of his nose laid his glasses, left lense cracked throughout. I guessed it was because of the crash due to the open wounds scattered over his face and one on the right side of his forehead above the glasses, tucked behind his fringe. His limp seemed a little dramatic but nonetheless painful. The second of the strangers was also male, but that looked to be the only similarity between them. This one was a little smaller then his friend, with dark hair hanging over his chest. Slouching onto one leg, he stood with crossed arms and furrowed brows. However behind his fierce appearance, a softness tucked itself away in his eyes.
"I'm Rob," said the blonde haired stranger, whilst limping over to the nearest log to slump down onto.
"Im Spencer." The dark haired one said. His voice sounded very stern and rough.
"Hi, err well I'm Kat, you've obviously met Jamie, and this is Lara" I glance to the others, but I find myself looking deeper at the two.
The first thing i notice about Lara is her large glasses, which surprisingly unlike Rob's, still in intact. Lara is smaller than us all, her hair is a nice blonde colour roughly shoulder length, however due to the mud and slush you can't see the colour. Unfortunately all the cuts and bruises make it hard to tell apart where her left eye is, and she is forced to limp from when her foot was almost crushed. Her limp was just as bad as Rob's.
Jamie was taller then Lara, smaller than Rob and Spencer. The first thing I would notice about her is probably her hair, it's a mixture of red, dark brown with ginger strands, it always looks very volumized and as long as her back. Her face was dotted in freckles and a couple of spots (like a typical teenager) but didn't hide her face as much as she wanted too, she didn't need to.
"Its great and all we've made new friends but we still have stuff to do." Lara stated in the distance, she was right though, having people a few years older than us was nice and all but we did have tons of jobs to do.
"Yeah... Yeah she's right we need to work together." I was really weak, i really needed a source of energy to keep going, otherwise this is how i'll die.
"Jamie did you check the water while you were up there?" I asked while wiping sweat off my forehead.
"Kat, why did i go up there in the first place." wow really sarcasm? In situations like these. Oh whatever typical Jamie.
"Oh ha ha ha, is it clean? I said with a serious face.
Jamie smirked "yeah it's clean."
I dragged myself up to the river while forcing my feet up through gravity. It was as clear as glass, i could see every little grain of rock placed at the bottom. The river was about 2 meters wide and half a meter deep, it stretched along the right side 10-20 yards away from our camp space. The side of the clear river opposite of the camp, was a ledge and a huge tree root that looked an awful lot like a snake, like a big brown snake, with all the patterns... Let's not think about it, I'm sure it's just a tree log... Better safe than sorry let's move to the bottom of the camp where the river bends.
I looked at my face in the faint reflection, all the dirt and cuts blocked my face but my hazily green eyes shone through it all. My ginger hair is now a lovely shade of mud, but at least you can still see the blonde streaks. Oh and my earring at the top of my ear managed to stay in and no cuts or bleeding. I washed my face in the river before taking a sip, probably wasn't the safest thing I've done. But I guess it's all about survival now. I lay on my knees and lean forward, cuff my hands together and throw the clear river water over my face, i then find a cupped leaf nearby and use that as a base to hold the river water. I don't tend to drink water a lot, but in a scene like that i could happily sit here all day and drink the river water, maybe if I'm lucky i might stumble across some vodka.
