A male of average height was walking down the streets of the town he called home. He had short messy white hair and sharp yellow eyes with tanned skin. The male appeared to be in his mid to late teens possibly around the age of seventeen. He was wearing a rather plain set of clothes however, it was easy to see just how muscular he was even with these clothes on. This male's name was Gerardo.

As he walked down the street the building he had been making his way towards eventually came into sight. A small dojo that he liked to train at. He had even taken the time to become a member of the dojo at one point. Now he went there and spared almost every day, and it seemed like every time he came in his sensei had a new opponent for him to face. Most of the time he won, but sometimes his opponent surprised him and he lost.

When Gerardo walked in he saw his master talking to a male that he didn't recognize. Gerardo could only guess that this was his opponent for the day. "Ah, there you are, trouble on the way again?" The male asked as he looked at Gerardo causing him to nod.

"Yeah, they're reconstructing one of the roads I usually take so I had to take an alternative route today," Gerardo said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"I see, well this man will be your opponent today," The male said as he looked at Gerardo. When he did Gerardo looked at him. At the very least he looked strong.

"Nice to meet you, just give me a few minutes to change," Gerardo said as he began to enter the changing room. When he did he immediately began to change out of his daily clothes and into his combat uniform. When he was dressed Gerardo laid his clothes to the side and began to make his way out of the changing room and back into the sparing room. When he did he walked up to the male and smiled.

"Thank you for waiting," Gerardo said as he looked at the male in front of him causing him to nod. Gerardo then stretched a bit before taking his fighting stance. It was a bit odd and certainly not only that his opponent had ever seen before as it left several points on him rather exposed. The male shrugged seeing this and began to run towards Gerardo being the one to start the fight between them.

As the male ran towards him Gerardo waited for him to get close before attacking. He jumped up and kicked the male's head forcing him off balance. When Gerardo landed he went low and kicked the male's legs out from under him, forcing his opponent onto all fours before kicking the male in the jaw once again sending him back. When he did Gerardo looked at the male in front of him a bit questioningly.

This was the guy that his master picked for him to fight? He practically ran into Gerardo's attack. Thus far he wasn't too impressed with what he was seeing. Gerardo then ran towards the male and attempted to kick him in the side. As he did the male stopped his attack and moved closer to him slamming his elbow into Gerardo's face as he did sending him back. When he did Gerardo looked at the male a bit surprised making it clear Gerardo had underestimated the male in front of him.

The male then moved closer to Gerardo not wanting to give him any time to think about what was happening. The male then kicked Gerado in the stomach forcing him to bend over in pain before the male jumped up and brought his elbow down on top of Gerardo's head. When he did Gerardo moved closer to him and began to counter the male by elbowing the male in the stomach forcing him to bend over a bit.

When he did Gerardo grabbed the male's head and slammed it into his knee before slamming his palm into the male's chest sending him back to throw him off balance. When he did Gerardo once again closed the distance between them. Gerardo punched the male in the gut before turning and kicking the male on top of the head, before pulling back and punching the male in the face.

When he did the male began to move away a bit before running towards a wall. When he did Gerardo followed him and when the male reached the wall he began to run up it. As he did Gerardo turned around and prepared to attack the male as he landed. However, he never landed instead kicking off the wall early and punching Gerardo in the back of the head. When he did the male followed the attack up by kicking Gerardo's feet out from under him and then jumping up turning in the air as he did to elbow drop the male beneath him.

When he stood up Gerardo quickly moved back putting some distance between them. He had to admit that one caught him a bit off guard. Typically when someone ran up a wall their end goal was always to flip over their opponent and land behind them. So Gerardo tried to read his movements a bit too early. He never imagined someone would just kick themselves off the wall to punch their opponent in the face.

The male then rushed forward and attempted to kick Gerardo in the stomach. As he did Gerardo raised his hands and stopped the attack pushing him back as he did. As soon as the male landed he moved behind Gerardo and punched him in the back. As he did Gerardo was sent forward and he turned. The male smiled seeing this and once again ran forward jumping up once again as he did.

Like before Gerardo stopped the attack and sent him back, and like before as soon as the male landed he moved behind Gerardo. However, unlike before Gerardo quickly turned as the male prepared to hit him and punched the male in the face knocking him off his feet. It didn't take the male long to kick up off the ground and when he did Gerardo was ready to continue his assault.

Gerardo then uppercut the male letting his momentum carry him as he did so that he would turn faster. Gerardo letting his momentum carry him then punched the male in the face once again. When he did the male grit his teeth and punched Gerardo in the stomach before using that same arm to slam his elbow into Gerardo's face sending the male back a bit. However, it didn't take long for Gerardo to quickly regain his footing and continue what he was doing.

Gerardo kicked at the male's legs causing him to trip, as he fell Gerardo uppercut the male forcing him to stand up, before jumping and turning in the air to build up momentum before eventually kicking the male in the face sending him back. As he did the male flipped back aiming to kick Gerardo in the jaw only for Gerardo to move back as he did. As soon as the male landed Gerardo once again rushed forward preparing his next attack as he did.

Gerardo then went to punch the male in the face only for the male to catch his fist and move closer punching him in the stomach as he did forcing Gerardo back, before moving close and kicking him in the chest. As he did Gerardo bent over a bit in pain only for his opponent to do a backflip kicking him in the jaw as he did. When he landed the male rushed forward and tried to kick Gerardo in the chest.

As he did Gerardo leaned back avoiding the attack. Gerardo watched as the leg went over him before standing up attempting to punch the male. When he did the male jumped up avoiding the attack and grabbed Gerardo's wrist before turning and kicking the male in the face once again sending him back as he did. When he landed the male once again rushed forward not wanting to give Gerardo any time to recover.

As the male ran towards him Gerardo spun on the ground raising his legs as he did to kick the male in the face sending him back. As he did Gerardo landed on his feet and quickly closed the distance between them so that he could uppercut the male once again sending him back before jumping and turning in the air kicking the male in the head as he did, once again sending him back in a disoriented state.

Gerardo then capitalized on his foe's dazed state and dashed forward and kicked the male in the face sending forcing him to once again stand up. As he did Gerardo jumped up raising a leg before bringing it down on top of the male's head once again forcing him to bend over. As he did Gerardo grabbed his shoulders and jumped over the male doing a flip as he did before landing and lifting the male behind him up off the ground and pulling him over slamming him on the ground as he did.

This seemed to be the final blow as the male didn't seem to be getting back up after this causing Gerardo to sigh a bit and stand up. He had to admit while he didn't look like much at first he had a few tricks that surprised him. As Gerardo was looking at the male he heard the door open and turned to see who had entered the dojo. He was expecting one of the other members but who he saw took him a bit by surprise.

He was an elderly male with long gray hair tied up into a ponytail, with a short beard and mustache of the same color, with a scar running over both of his eyes with one being a bit thicker than the other, with yellowish-brown eyes. A male that Gerardo recognized, even if it only was because he spent a lot of time with Asuka and her family. Asuka's grandfather, Hanzo.

"There you are," Hanzo said as he began to walk towards the male. "So this is where you've been training?" Hanzo asked as he looked around the building.

"Yeah," Gerardo said as he looked at the male in front of him. "What are you doing here?" Gerardo asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"I thought that would be obvious, I came here looking for you," Hanzo said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this Gerardo looked at him a bit surprised.

"For me?" Gerardo asked as he looked at the male in front of him causing him to nod.

"Indeed, I came here because I want you to join my academy," Hanzo said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this Gerardo's eyes widened a bit in surprise as he looked at the male in front of him.

"Oh," Gerardo said a bit taken aback. He honestly wasn't sure what to say in this situation since he never thought Hanzo would seek him out to join his academy.

"So what do you say?" Hanzo asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"I'll think about it," Gerardo said as he looked at the male in front of him. However, this was a lie. Gerardo was merely saying this to pacify Hanzo. In reality, he didn't plan on joining the academy and he really didn't want to explain his reasoning to the male once again. Hanzo smiled hearing this and began to walk away before stopping.

"Oh, and while you're thinking about it. I just want you to know that Asuka would be there," Hanzo chimed a bit causing Gerardo's face to turn a bit red with embarrassment.

"Who's Asuka?" His sensei asked a he looked at Gerardo.

"A friend," Gerardo said hoping his sensei wouldn't pry any further into the subject. However, Gerardo wasn't going to give him the option as he stood up. "I'm going to call it an early night," Gerardo said as he began to make his way back to the changing room changing from his combat uniform back into his casual clothes before walking out of the building and making his way back home.

It took a while but eventually, Gerardo arrived home. "I'm home!" Gerardo announced only for his father to come out of the kitchen. "Good, you're just in time for dinner," The male said as he looked at Gerardo causing him to nod. He then made his way into the kitchen where they all began to eat.

"My, Gerardo's joining us for dinner tonight? It must be a special occasion," His mother said in a joking manner. And as much as Gerardo hated to admit it, his mother was right. He usually missed dinner, because he was too busy training at the dojo trying to hone his skills. So typically they just left whatever they had on a plate in the microwave for him when he got home.

"I guess you could say that," Gerardo said as he looked at his parents causing them to look at him. When they did Gerardo took a deep breath knowing he wasn't going to be able to get through dinner without mentioning what happened. "Hanzo showed up at the dojo today. He said he wanted me to join his academy," Gerardo said as he looked at the two in front of him.

"Oh, that's great sweetie!" His mother chimed as she looked at him.

"I don't think I'm going to join," Gerardo said as he looked at the others in front of him.

"Oh? Why not?" His mother asked as she looked at the male in front of him causing him to shrug.

"I just don't want to be a ninja," Gerardo said as he looked at her. He wanted to be a material artist, and while a ninja and a material artist had some things in common there was also a lot that they didn't have in common.

"Oh," His mother said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Well, I think you should do it," His father said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"You think?" Gerardo asked as he looked at the male in front of him causing him to nod.

"Yeah, you may not want to be a ninja. But you do want to be a material artist, right? Well, what better place to improve your skills than an academy filled to the brim with ninjas?" His father asked as he looked at Gerardo. As much as Gerardo hated to admit it, his father had a point. There were only so many people he could fight while he stayed here no matter how many new people his master brought into the dojo.

Not to mention that none of the others in the dojo could keep up with him. But he wouldn't have that problem in a school filled with ninjas. In fact, if anything he might be the one that had trouble keeping up with them. Which excited him. Then there was the fact that Asuka would also be there like Hanzo mentioned. "I'll think about it," Gerardo said as he looked at the two in front of him. However, unlike before this time, he actually meant it.

However, it didn't take him long to decide. He wasn't even halfway through his meal before he made his decision. "Alright, I'll join,"
