Another Lie
~•°•~
What she felt was euphoria. A complete moment of undoubtful bliss, yet in the back of her mind, she thought she had made a grave mistake!
She was only there to talk to him, and possibly comfort him.
Not get a hickey from him.
She cursed herself, realizing how much of a fool she was to throw herself at him.
Iggy, much to her displease, was suffering and for her to selfishly do that was a stupid thing to do.
But then there was her Wolf, it loved what happened and Lyra hated it. Her Wolf was skittering, clawing to chase after him. She tried her best to contain it, but how could she when there was literal proof that she enjoyed every last moment of it?
On her neck, bruised and still carrying his scent.
She took one last look at herself on the mirror, buttoning her shirt and undoing her hair, covering his love-mark.
She walked back to the dining hall with her legs still trembling. Once she was back, Lyra glanced at Ignacios from across the hall. His eyes were glazed with unmistakable lust as he stared through her. Immediately, she placed her hand over her neck, walking pass the wolves with a hurried pace.
She looked over to her table, Felix was alone and no longer seeing Gael, regretting it.
“Dammit.” She says.
“What's wrong, Ly?” She caught Felix’s attention.
He was still being flocked the she-wolves before, their hands tangled around his body. Lyra saw his want to get the heck out of there. They were asking him a question, much to his displease, he didn’t want to be rude and just shut them down.
“Hold on there, minx,” he says to one of them, giving her one quick smile before turning to Lyra. “Are you okay? You look flustered?”
“I’m fine, I’m going to head in for the night.” She says. “See you.”
She kept walking, knowing with what she did, she won't be able to undo it.

Gael found himself in a little predicament, flocked by female wolves who were eagerly trying to get into his pants. Some he recognized as his patients, some he didn’t. Although he was having a hard time pushing them away, he snickered, seeing Felix having a hard time getting away from his own group of admirers.
“You should really check out our pad, we promise you’ll have an amazing time.”
A she-wolf said, batting her eyelashes at him. She was beautiful no doubt, her eyes shining brightly. Her strawberry blonde hair braided into a ponytail pouring down the side of her shoulder smelled like lilacs. He almost chuckled.
A female wolf wearing lilac scented fragrance only meant one thing.
“Nice try, honey. Unfortunately, you’re barking at the wrong tree here.” He smiled, getting their confused looks as an answer.
“What?” She says.
“I love men as much I love my job, which is very much.”
“Oh…”
Each of them awkwardly smiled at him. It was always a flawless plan and it worked like a charm. He was finally alone, feeling quite empty and satisfied as he watched them leave. He reached for his phone, seeing a couple of unopened messages, all from the pack’s Beta, asking for his whereabouts. He shook his head, immediately heading to his room, grabbing his two bags filled with all of his belongings and making his way towards the pack house’s gate. Both both of them agreed to meet there. As planned, he was there. Diego frowned as soon as he saw him.
“You missed the celebration,” Gael commented, receiving a glacier cold stare.
“It’s not my scene.” He says, entering the car with a slam on the door.
Gael knew he was probably going to have a hard time taking a ride with the Beta. He was a douche, irate and possibly someone who had fleas on him. Gael shook his head as he threw his bags into the backseat of Diego’s Nissan Leaf.
‘Well, at least he’s cautious about the environment.’
Like the wolf he was, he sat on the passenger seat, smiling at as he buckled his seat belt.
“Cool ride,” Gael says, trying to start a conversation. The Beta didn’t answer, keeping his mouth shut.
Diego’s car roared to life, driving slowly as the darkness of the night plague their vision. Wolves who live in the woods drive with the car’s light turned off. It was done to avoid attracting attention from humans. And so, they drove the light’s off, the muddy dirt way that leads to the main road was still a kilometer away.
The night was cool and calm, the Moon was in it’s highest peak. It was perfect for traveling as most wolves would be resting.
Gael thought of the things that would happen after he returned to his home. He didn’t have family there, all he had was friends, who, as he thought about it now, they probably wouldn’t be too glad to accept him on the account he had left his pack unceremoniously.
He knew things weren’t going to be the same, especially with Elena. He wanted to vomit just with the thought of her name. There was a sure chance that she would be there and he couldn’t wait to throttle her neck if she at least steps out of line.
Elena was a cod and he couldn’t wait to chop her up.
“So, what’s with the sudden move?” Diego suddenly spoke, breaking the ominous silence between them.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to leave the North?” He raised a brow, masking away his surprised expression from Diego’s question.
“That’s why you’re here, no one would attack a higher-up wolf from the North, plus, I miss the East.”
“Home always calls us wolves.” Was the Beta’s honest reply.
Gael almost smiled. It was probably the most wholesome thing he heard all night.
“Cheesy, but I like it.” He says, nodding his head.
The metal vehicle stopped at a sudden halt, causing him to tightly grip the car’s seat. His heart beat erratically, his eyes looking at Diego who was keeping his eyes on the road, his senses high and readied.
“What’s wrong?” Gael questioned.
“Stay here, don’t move. We have a rogue in our midst.”
Gael tried to concentrate and close his eyes. Through the dark, he sensed a beating heart two hundred meters away from them. He breathed in deeply, the smell of pines, leaves, and tiny rodents that were skittering around was all he got, except the distinct smell of herbs and oils mixed together. A scent masker.
“Someone’s masking their scent, it’s a pretty strong mix of Nightlocke berries, Marigold roots, and Tanzen oil, probably more.” He says quietly.
For a wolf to use that kind of mix was unheard of, berries from a Nightlocke bush was poisonous yet highly effective. He bit his lip, trying to guess which pack would the spy belong to.
“How many of them are there?” Diego asks, his hands grabbing for his dagger under his seat.
“Can’t say,” he murmurs. “With that kind of potency, I’m surprised I’ve even got a whiff of it.”
It was pure silence. Nothing could be heard except the sound of his heart battering against his heaving chest. Gael shook in a sudden wave of panic, whoever was spotting them, he was pretty sure he or she would be from his pack, sent by the higher-ups to retrieve or maybe even kill him. The latter made him feel uneasy.
“Are you sure about that?” Diego asks with a calm voice.
He felt his heart drop, the way he said it almost sounded too ominous and daunting. His wolf howled inside of him, alerting him from danger. The intense emotion he felt inside made him turn his head towards the Beta.
Diego’s eyes were glued to the silver blade on hand, his lips mockingly upturned in a menacing stance.
“Diego, what’s this?” He felt his heart beat faster as Diego turned to him, his eyes causing him to almost vomit in sheer shock.
“You know you were right about one thing, the rogue is not alone,” the Beta smiled wickedly, gripping his hold on the blade. With a swift motion, he plunged the dagger through the air, missing Gael’s face by an inch. “I’m one of them.”
Before anything could happen, Gael stepped on the gas pedal, the car sped off with a large roar, with no one holding the steering wheel, it crashed on a tree. The windshield shattered on impact, shards of it flying across the ground. Gael slammed his face on the window beside him, causing a small rip on his scalp to appear. He was now bleeding, his body pained from the crash.
On sudden instinct, he disregarded the pain in his body and pulled himself up, unbuckling himself and opening the passenger side door, scampering on the leaf-covered ground. Adrenaline rushed through his veins as he breathed erratically, his senses heightened for defense.
He didn’t see Diego emerge from the wreck. Slowly Gael peered over the tree, seeing a small blotch of blood on the spread on the hood of the car.
Diego had broken through the windshield!
A twig loudly snapped, causing him to turn with a quick on the air. He hit Diego’s face, causing the wolf to stumble unto the ground.
“You broke my nose.” Diego hissed, blood seeping out from the cut on the bridge of his nose.
Gael shrugged. “Well yeah? You tried to stab me, Einstein!”
Diego threw his blade towards him. Gael dodged quickly, his shaky legs causing him to temporarily lose balance. He turned back to where the wolf was, only to find him missing.
“Shit.” He cussed, feeling uneasy as he stood there like prey in the cold expanse of darkness.
A howl made it’s way into his ears causing the hair on his back stand. Diego had shifted into his wolf. With the sound of paws trotting against the ground, he turned to where it was coming from and crossed his arms over his chest.
Diego pounced over him, causing him to fall over with the massive weight of the wolf pinning him down.
“Ah!” He screamed in pain.
The wolf clawed at him, biting him on the arm. He punched Diego’s nose and kicked him off.
“You fucking coward, fight me like a real man.”
The wolf stopped, his breathing relaxed as the form of a man replaced him later. Diego now stood in front of him stark naked with his nose still very bloody and very broken.
“Bravo doctor, who knew wolves like you would learn to defend themselves,” Diego says with a deathly glare casting towards him.
“Basic combat one-o-one, my wolf.”
“Probably good then, I wouldn’t want my foe to be helpless.”
“Your actions are a mystery to me, why are you doing this?” He asked.
Diego only smirked, taking a closer step. “Just a precaution, Fontana.”
Gael threw a heavy hit on Diego’s stomach. The wolf back away, only to fight back with a kick on Gael’s chest. Their bodies tangled up together as they tried to overpower each other.
“For what?!” Gael asks as he pinned him on the ground.
“For Lois of course,” Diego raised himself up, turning the field around as he now pinned Gael down. “for me, and for the baby.”
“What baby?” He struggled to say as Diego’s weight on his chest hindered him to properly breathe.
“Your baby with Lois.”
Gael felt the air being sucked out of him. His heart tearing to pieces as he now knew what he meant. He felt disgusted, used, and scared.
His memories surged through his thoughts like wildfire, unseizing and painful. He remembered now who he had slept with…
‘It wasn’t a dream.’ He thought bitterly. ‘No, no, no, no.’
He was consumed with immeasurable anger and despair. All was lost now and what he thought was a memory of his old lover turned into the contorted face of Lois. Tears slowly found it’s way down his cheeks, leaving wet streaks on their way.
Odette’s beautiful blond hair, her brilliant blue eyes, and pale white skin slowly peeled off, revealing Lois.
Gael grabbed the blade hidden on his boots, slashing Diego on his side and plunging it on his chest. Diego fell off him, backing away as blood leaked out of his body. Gael stood over the injured Beta, ready to strike at any moment.
He was done.
Tired of everything around him.
As he raised the blade high above the air, a sting on his shoulder caused him to yelp in surprise. He turned his head to see a dart, it’s needle embedded on his skin. He removed it, getting the hideous aroma of Nightlocke berries.
Darkness ensues as he fell to the ground muttering a name as he crashed. “Lyra.”

Diego watched the doctor slam on the ground, anger immediately taking over him as he turned to the woods to voice his frustration.
“Fuck, Esme.” He bellowed loudly. “I had it under control.”
A shewolf stepped out from behind the trees and revealed herself to him. She was smiling, her hand clasping on a dart gun.
“Oh sure, Diego. Of course, you had it under control, it wasn’t like he was about to drop that knife between your eyes.”
She bent down and sat next to him, seeing the blood that was pouring out of his wounds. She grabbed her bag and took out bandages, a bottle of water and some alcohol.
“What did you shoot him with?” Gael asks as she cleaned the cut on his body. “Esmeralda?”
“Just high-grade moose tranquilizer, and Stephen’s poisons. Shit’s too unstable, he didn’t even give it to me. I stole it from him.” She smiled.
“Is it deadly?”
“I guess it is, Stephen’s last test subject got survived through it. The only problem was he got cleaved.”
“How long does it take to cleave someone.”
“A couple of months, if he’s lucky, he could get half a year. Either way, he’ll burn out eventually.”
Esme finished with him, standing up with a grunt. Diego reached for Gael’s knife, swearing as every move he made brought more pain in his body. Now that Gael was down, nothing was stopping Diego from killing him.
“Time to die wolf.” He whispers, training the weapon over Gael’s heart.
“It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday.” Esme’s phone rang with an annoying tone.
“Would you mind, Esmeralda?” He scowled at her.
Esme frowned, her eyes glued to the screen of her phone.
“Diego, he’s calling.” Esme murmured behind him.
“What does he want?” he says, standing up.
She raised her hand to keep him still and answered her phone. “My Alpha…yes…of course…he’s here with me…, I’ve done what you ask me for and I am heading your way…he asked me for a favor…yes, Alpha…forgive me…of course.” She nervously ran her tongue over her lower lip. “Here, he wants to talk to you.”
She handed him her phone.
“My Alpha, blessed be the Moon.” He greets.
“She brilliantly shines.” the wolf over the phone answers. “How are you fairing, my wolf?”
“Wonderful, sir.”
“I trust you are and I also trust you’re doing your job perfectly.”
Diego rolled his eyes. “She’s safe, for the moment.”
“For the moment?” the wolf chuckled. “Why? Is there something I need to know, my wolf?”
Diego was never good at lying. He knew with one wrong word he could face dire circumstances. He gulped, trying to formulate his response as soon as he took a quick glance at Gael.
“I…I have apprehended a spy. He works for the Easterners. I have confirmed knowledge that he plans to take your sibling away from the North.”
“Why my sister?” The wolf asks. Diego could hear the disbelief in his Alpha’s voice. It made him shake with fear.
“Evan’s wolves are looking for concubines.” Diego was quiet, hoping his Alpha would buy on his reason.
“Funny, I never took Evan like that kind of man, well then, keep him alive. I’m sure Evan would be happy to hear I have one of his puppets. And oh, Diego. You would do wisely if you keep my sister away from the Northern Alpha. He’s collateral damage.”
The line cut and Diego was left to frown, wanting to scream as he now has to find a way to cure Gael. If his Alpha found out that he was lying, he would die.
“Fuck!” he cursed aloud.
“Spy, no Diego, you’re the spy. This man looks more of a harmless candy pimp to me. Why did you have to lie like that? Now you’re gonna die.” Esme mockingly shook her head in disappointment.
“Shut up.” He roared, running a hand through his dark unkempt hair.
Esme smiled at him. “Oh cheer up, Diego. As the Alpha always says, we don’t kill valuable assets.”
