As he laid on his bed, he couldn't deny the fact that every second that passed his heart slowly burnt to crisp. Her ginger red hair fixed in a ponytail was cascading down the side of her face. She looked bewildered, almost scared as both of them exchanged looks.
He controlled the urge to speak and ruin their silence. It was enough for him, knowing that, having her near him was already the best thing that could ever happen. He didn't wish for much, but what he did want to do was to slowly caress her beautiful freckled face, to bury his nose into her auburn hair, and keep her close like he did when they were still kids.
“Ignacios, is there something wrong?” She asked.
The distance of her voice almost made him flinch. Her glacier cold tone burnt with overwhelming intensity. He realized he was in no place to be speaking with her. He rejected her after all, it was just a mere miracle with her still be being on his side after he saw her in the woods.
“Nothing, it’s just, I don't even know anymore.” He spoke honestly. His gaze faltered when she scowled
“Stop staring at me then.”
Reluctantly, he tore his eyes away from her, looking at his hands. He was afraid, what if he looked away and blinked, waking up from a dream?
He didn't know what was real and fake anymore. He had spent too much time being inside his wolf.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I just can't believe I'm here.”
She rolled the conflict that was glazed over her eyes. Sighing as he leaned over to him, placing her hand on his forehead. He was taken aback, making him flinch on her sudden action. Ignacios grabbed her wrist, squeezing it in his hand. He felt a quick jolt run up his body.
“Your skin, it's so soft.” He murmured.
“Well, you don't have a fever.” She said, pulling her hand away from him.
He laughed, noticing the irritated expression that plagued her beautiful face. He couldn't help but feel a surge of content, even though that his feeling for her was overflowing like a broken sink, he held it under his grasp. For if he lost control, he would only scare her away. And that was the last thing she would ever want to do.
“I’m fine,” his deep groggy voice said, his vulnerability showing through his open eyes. “it's just I’m a little bit sore.”
“After the killing spree you did, who wouldn't be sore?” She shrugged.
He fell into silence, looking at his hands. When he saw how the female wolf held Lyra by the neck, he couldn't contain himself. He knew he needed to act fast, and with one swift movement, he quickly reaped the lives of the wolves that threatened to kill her. For him, it almost didn't matter who they were. Because if she disappeared, then what was the point of ever living?
“They were my first ever kill,” he confessed.
“Right, somehow I don't believe you.” She said with a spiteful tone.
“I never lie, Lyra. You of all wolves know that.” He wore a tight-lipped, lopsided smile, gazing at her through his thick lashes.
Her eyes glared with anger. She stood, stomping her foot on the floor as she now towered over him. He looked up.
“Cut the bullshit, Wolf. You and I both know you're lying.”
He realized what she meant. Maybe it was his wolf. After all, he was trapped in his body for three long years. He didn't know what had happened. He opted to keep his silence, but the way she sent him a deathly stare made him nervously speak.
“I can't lie to you, Lyra. The last thing I want to do is to drive you away again.”
“Then who killed the Eastern Alpha and Luna, Ignacios? Who did?”
He bit his lip, a nervous habit of his. What exactly did his wolf do when he was out?
“I—I’m not sure...”
“Yeah, that's what I thought.” She shook her head in utter frustration and headed for the door. His heart ached when her back faced him. In a sudden wave of panic, he called out her name.
“Lyra,” he breathed, desperation clear in his voice. “wait. Let me explain.”
She stopped on her tracks, turning to face him. She stood on the door frame, her head cocked as she waited for his explanation.
It was now or never, he thought. If she wasn't going to listen to him, maybe she needed to hear his Wolf’s story. He closed his eyes, waiting for his wolf.

As Lyra silently waited, her brain was overloaded by different questions that begged to be answered. He scared her, to be honest. His unsettling sincerity made her put her walls up. She wasn't sure how to act around him. Especially how his warm hand held her wrist softly. She couldn't deny the jolt that made her shiver.
She was being betrayed by her own emotions. She realized it was already that time of the month. When her emotions were on the fritz. She was on heat. Her face darkened as she realized how inconvenient it was.
“Wolf,” he spoke. Lyra caught his eyes, they pierced her soul with a strong grip. His smile disappeared and now he wore a frown, a scowl to be exact as he tried his best to stand on his own.
It really wasn't the best idea, knowing he had sustained a lot of damage, forcing himself to be mobile was just a stupid decision.
“Stop,” she said, taking a step towards him. He raised his palm in front of her, making her halt.
“I’m quite fine with my own.” He snapped.
She was confused. A minute ago, he was the Wolf whom she grew up with, now he was the Wolf that threatened to ruin her. His curly hair fell down his face, jaw lightly clenched. He looked terrifying. The way he walked, forcing himself upright to walk over her. With every step he took, her hand shook tremendously. Like waves of fear striking her soul. Sweat formed on her forehead as she breathed in calmly.
“I’m not playing these games, Ignacios.” She shakily spoke.
Just then, his familiar grin caught her attention. The way it rooted her feet on the floor almost scared her as she remembered, it was the same smile he made all those years ago when he exiled her. The demented look he made was truly something else.
“I never asked you to, my Wolf.” He as he leaned close to her. “You deny my human of the right to tell his story.”
“Wha—what do you mean?” She managed to speak. What did he mean?
“You know? My human might not be perfect, but he’s not the wolf you think he is.” Ignacios said.
“You're not making any sense.”
“Isn't it obvious?” She shook her head, knowing fully it really wasn't. “I am his Wolf, I am the one who rejected you, the one who drove you away and the one who killed the Eastern Alpha, along with his mate.”
He paused, probably because of how she shook with fear and hurt. She couldn't explain what she felt. The unworldly pain that over her heart was preventing her to breathe properly.
His wolf? She thought. How could this be possible? So does that mean all of the things he has ever done these past few years were not his doing?
“What are you doing, Ignacios? What are you saying?” She croaked.
“It is known that the human side and the Wolf side don't share the same memories. While I was forced to do what I did, he was asleep, deep inside our body. So don't blame him, blame me.” He said.
He was serious, his deep voice alone was already a sign of that. And as he stood there, breathing heavily, she knew he still had no energy. Fighting over this would only be futile. He was still weak, she suspected it was all a delusion, but as he leaned into her face, he held the side of shoulders and whispered against her ear.
“If you wish to know the truth, keep my human away from her, Lyra. Keep him away from Lois and I'll point your way to your real family.” He went quiet for a second, letting his warm breath fan her hair. “Word of advice, don't drink anything she gives you.”
He pulled away when he met her gaze, he closed his eyes shut and when they opened, it was like looking at another person. His grey eyes calmed and a smile crept onto his lips as he lost his balance, falling into the floor with a loud thud.
She couldn't react, all she did was stand as his words kept bouncing around her thoughts.
Your real family.
“My real family?” She managed to whisper, still struck with the information she just got. Then who was her real family?

Diego nodded, sneaking away as he tore his gaze from the Alpha who was on the floor. For the past ten minutes, he had been eavesdropping on Ignacios and Lyra, listening to their conversation. He knew Lois would probably want to hear this.
He strode through the corridor, his legs carrying him into the Luna’s chamber. He knocked on her door, patiently waiting for her response. Without a minute, she opened the door for him.
“He’s back.” He said. Lois only raised a brow, clearly not sure as to what he had meant. “Ignacios, he's no longer affected by your drink. Lyra, she must have done something to him.”
A panicked expression surfaced on Lois’ face. She paced around her room, completely consumed by fear.
“I knew that bitch would be a problem, I was the one who wanted her out as soon as possible. He just didn't listen.” She bit her lip.
“Let’s just make a run for it, Lois. Together, just like we talked about.” He opted to hold her, but she backed away, looking at her with a tear on his face.
“We’re in too deep, Diego. We need to act as fast as possible.” She gulped, pressing her face against his warm solid chest.
“What's our plan then?” he asked lightly, putting a hand on top of her head.
“Gael, his our only best hope. Will you be okay with that?” She asked him.
Even though his heart broke into a million pieces when she asked that, he managed to fix a smile on his lips, nodding lightly.
“Of course, Lois. We’ll get through this.” He whispered, embracing her into a tight hold. He knew what was about to happen and he would do anything for her happiness.

Gael sat quietly laid on his bed, thinking of what would happen once he came back home. He wondered what would be his family and friends’ reaction when he was finally home. Will he be greeted as one of their own or will he be treated as the murderer who was known now? He shook his head, trying to rid his mind of his sullen thoughts.
It was already night time, and the Moon was already on top of the sky. He was already packed and ready, Gael wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Elena was a deceitful and convincing wolf. Maybe she had already forced the Alpha into making his way into the Northern lands. That was what he was most afraid of. If a war ensued between their packs, he would probably die knowing he had been responsible for the death of other wolves.
There was no use of trying to dwell on it not, to calm the squall that chipped away his soul, he needed to clear things up in his own pack. Wasting his energy on thinking of it was going to make him insane.
He tried to relax, but a knock from his rang through the room. He stood up and opened his door, seeing Lois with a bottle of wine on her hand and two empty stemmed glasses.
He looked at her smiling face, raising a brow.
“Let's have a drink.”
