Lightpaw felt her paws shake beneath her as she stepped forward to her name. "Lightpaw, you passed your assessment wonderfully, and preformed good in the last battle, do you promise to uphold the warrior code through out your life here in thunderclan?" Treestar meowed strongly, her ginger pelt shimmering on the high rock. The new leader smiling at Lightpaw.
Lightpaw shivered, "Yes," she mumbled, "I do." She meowed louder.
Treestar dipped her head and said with responsibility in her tone, "Then Lightpaw, from this day forward you will be known as Lightfur, because of your bright pelt, and you can now move in to the warriors den, Logheart, you have done great training and you can now rest as your strong apprentice becomes a warrior!"
The whole clan began howling Lightfur's name, making Lightfur's pelt hot as she touched noses with the leader. The hollow echoed with excitement, yet Lightfur's felt grief as she remembered her brothers death over a moon ago, fighting against shadowclan...
Now the sun was setting and Lightfur's had to guard the camp entrance in silent vigil. She climbed up through the brambles and sat down, gazing into the forest. Wonder what it would be like to have no clan, she thought keeping herself awake as night started to settle, to not be cared for like I am?
The moon was now high in the sky and Lightfur's blinked, her eyelids getting heavy. No! I can't fall asleep on silent vigil, isn't that against the warrior code or something? What a terrible warrior I am, I can't even remember the warrior code! What if I eat before an elder? Or what if- a sudden noise interrupted Lightfur's thoughts, and she looked around, fur bristling at the thought of being attacked at night.
Out of the bush a couple fox-lengths ahead of her, she walked out of the bush. Wait what? Lightfur gasped, an older looking version of her walked out of behind that bush. "So will it always be like this?" The other Lightfur said.
A bigger, older version of, Slipperyfeet walked out behind the older Lightfur, and looked as if he was guiding her, "no, soon you will get used to it." He meowed.
What? What is it? Thought the curious Lightfur. She saw the other self bump into a low hanging tree branch, "So sooner or later I won't need to be guided everywhere?" She purred.
Slipperyfeet nodded in response, and then realized, "Sorry, I forgot you can't see me nod, but yeah, soon you'll get the hang of it!"
The two figures disappeared, leaving Lightfur frightened, but somehow curious. What does Slipperyfeet mean 'I guess you can't see me nod'? Was that even real? Or did I fall asleep? She wondered. Lightfur stood confused, as the sun started to rise...
