Reviews on Jayfeather by the admins:
If I was a cat during Jayfeather's time, he'd be a cat I'd look up to. He may have been grumpy most of the time, but he really cared for lots of cats and being hard to talk to was his way of showing it. Jayfeather is a really cool cat. He had to cope with being blind, finding out his mother is really Leafpool (not to mention she trained him), and Hollyleaf running away, not knowing if she still lived. He went through so much and he didn't break down. I admire him for that. (Yay I made it long) |Tigertail|
Jayfeather was one of the more interesting characters of the series. Leaden with burden from a young age, the poor tom had to grow up very quickly after his and his siblings foolish mistake, and that shaped his character into the grumpy tom we all love him for being. I enjoy the fact that though he was blind, he was still a useful cat in the Clan (yes I'm ignoring the apparent ThunderClan stereotype of sending every disabled cat to be a medicine cat...) AND he was still an integral part of the prophecy and the plot as a whole. I personally think that he was the most level-headed of the three siblings, (and Dovewing/Ivypool as well) and though he too occasionally fell to his own chaotic feelings, he was overall a very smart cat. I personally think it would be really interesting to know how his life would have turned out had he not been inherently blind and instead have turned a Warrior. His powers would have been used very differently, I think. Hmmmm, fic ideas XD I give him two thumbs up (and a hug. The poor tom needs a hug).

THUMBS DOWN THUMBS DOWN. Well, no, not really. I found Jayfeather to be one of the most interesting characters in the entire series of books. His determination, and his willingness to bend the rules for the sake of other cats safety, even other clans, was something I admire about him. He's hard to understand, but not hard to like. Even with his grumpiness, I found him to be a very helpful and able medicine cat. He's an important part of the series as a whole, and I give him an 11/10.
