Interview: Blazestorm

Yes, I know! It's been long awaited. I wanted to tell you guys all about myself, because I feel like I know so many of you and so much about you all, but you know close to nothing about me. So here's my little intro into me and my life. Feel free to comment anything you want to say ^^

Bit of a warning- I wrote alot. I ramble when I write and speak, and I'm not changing a thing so it's all accurate.

~Blaze

1. What's your name?

Well I'm not telling my real name, but I like to refer to myself by two names; in Warriors, I'm Blazestorm, and in any other series (with human characters) I call myself Kaitlyn. So you can call me Blaze or Kat.

2. How would you describe yourself?

Well I'm an introvert, quiet until I get to know you (or rambly and spazzy when nervous around strangers) and very fun to speak to. I'm very overenthusiastic about things that make me happy (i.e. food, my fandoms, my family....) and I'm very adaptable. I'll try anything that anyone reccommends, be it food, a fandom, clothing, a different lifestyle choice. In real life I'm about average height with long wavy brown hair, dark brown eyes, and whiteish-olive skin.

3. Do you speak any languages? Are there any you've longed to learn?

I do actually speak Greek, but not very fluently. I learned Spanish in middle school, though I'm not very good at it. I forgot most of it XD I've always wanted to learn Russian (I think its a badass language) and Latin because noone speaks Latin. Not that I would say no to other languages. Languages facinates me (also, teach me Parseltongue anyday, I'll speak to all the snakes!)

4. Have you ever been to a foreign country? Anywhere other than what you call home? If so, what are some things you saw there? Special activities or events?

Yes, I've been to Greece three times. I think there are memorable events from each. The first time, my sister almost got ran over by a herd of stampeding goats (we were five, they could have crushed her). The second time the same sister got bit by a donkey (an old donkey, mind you) and it died that winter, and my other sister skinned her arm from jumping off a rock into the ocean. The most recent time my dad took me snorkeling and we witnessed an epic fight between these two seagulls over a fish they pulled out of the water. It ended with the seagulls flapping their wings at eachother angrily as the fish escaped in the water. XD

5. What is it that inspired you to write?

Well I've always wanted to be an author ever since I was a kid. I was obsessed with reading and writing from a very young age. I even had my polly pocket's writing their own mini stories on these adorable tiny books that I cut out of paper and colored. Then as I got older, I stumbled upon fanfiction (that's a story for another time) and from there, I've been addicted!

6. Why did you choose your username on here? Does it represent you? Is there a story behind it?

I picked Blazestorm for two reasons. I wanted a Warrior name that other people and Erin Hunter weren't using, and because I liked those two roots. I think I took Blaze from Lionblaze and Storm from Sandstorm, but I can't really remember. It's funny because I used to go by a different name, Hollowtail, because I thought it was cool. Then of course, Erin Hunter had to make a RiverClan cat named Hollowpaw, and I changed it from then. Yes I'm aware there are other people that call themselves Blazestorm, but I've claimed the name, and I really like it. So yeah.

7. How old were you when you took an interest in writing?

I was very young, probably around seven or eight. Words and Language, like I've said, have always interested me, so I took to it like a fish to water. I've been writing stories and fanfiction ever since :D I just never update!

8. What was the first story you've written that you can remember? Is it on Wattpad? What fandom was it from?

Well I can remember writing a story called Lightning Ball, based on a work that my sister made called Fire Ball. Long story short, it was about a dragon princess who was trying to become the member of a very elite team that played Lightning Ball, which now that I think of it is a mixture of Rugby and Quidditch, where the dragons use their tails, paws, heads, or pretty much their whole bodies to get a ball through a hoop. I can't remember the entire plot (or why it was Lightning Ball and not Water Ball or something...) but I was really proud of that. No it isn't on Wattpad, nor is it from a fandom. I could even restart that. I always love writing books with a primarily animal cast ^^

9. Do you prefer to write your story on paper first? Or do you just go straight to the computer? Why?

I do a mixture of both. I prefer the computer only because I'm lazy and I usually hate rewriting things twice, and also because I have to type things anyway to get them on fanfiction or Wattpad. I use paper when I'm at school. Sometimes I get random ideas, so I write them down whenever and wherever I get them (including the shower) and try to develop them later into something big. I also print stories that I'm working on so that during boring or slow classes I can edit them and add on to whatever I already had typed up.

10. How did you find Wattpad? Why did you decided to stay?

I found Fanfiction.net first, actually. I was trying to find a prequel to the sixth book in the Vampire Academy series on Google, and what I found instead of the real book was Fanfiction.net. It's all downhill from there- my obsession with fics grew and I stumbled across everything from DeviantArt to ArchiveOfOurOwn (AO3) and eventually Wattpad. I've stuck to all of them, and now spend most of my free time reading everyone else's fics instead of writing my own. Heh.

11. What is your favorite book on Wattpad? What fandom is it from? What is it about? Why would you suggest this book to others?

Hmmmmm..... Well I'd say my favorite series on Wattpad is a book that is NOT from a fandom, but instead is a different series. It is called Regona City: The Creed by @voif1d. I enjoy it because it has everything that I love.
It's set in a dystopian society AND our world, where the main character falls into a different realm (perhaps the future) where everything is super-advanced but there is so much pollution that people can't live on the surface of the planet any more. Instead they float around in independent cities, protected from the unusable air and stifling atmosphere by a huge dome over their city. In the time right before the narrator comes, a deadly virus hit one particular city, killing those with weak immune systems, young children, and elderly. She's trying to find a way back home. I'm stopping there to prevent spoilers. It's well written, creative, and I just really like dytopian universes because that sort of thing facinates me. I really reccommend it.

12. Who is your favorite Wattpad author in all of Wattpad?

I'd have to say a multitude of people because I can't choose. Don't make me choose. I love @Maya_2011 and @voif1d for their original stories. (Dragons! I love dragons so much!!). I love @Tigerheart and his Warriors fanfictions because they're awesome, and all of these people because of their awesome fics! @Swiftdapple, @xSlytherinHeartx, @LightningstrikeTC @TigerShadow24_SC and a thousand other writers. I love your fics, guys! Especially my fellow admins (that's half the reason I joined WattyWarriors in the first place!).

13. How did you find out about Warriors and what made you love the series?

I remember seeing a kid in... fifth grade, I think, and he was reading the series at my lunch table. I saw the cover had a cat on it (it was Fire and Ice) so I immediately checked the school's library for it and ended up reading the first three that day. I love the character dynamics, the world in general, how Erin Hunter writes (they're so amazing, I even love Seekers and Survivors) and just from the start I loved the series. Just don't ever try to explain it to someone. I tried, and it took an hour to fully describe the Clan basics and the basic plot of all the series. Seriously, it's pretty extensive.

14. What is your favorite scene from Warriors?

Well I'd probably have to go with the scene in Yellowfang's Secret where she first discovered her powers. There was a huge buildup to it- as a kit she got the stomach poisoning that her sister Nutkit had, she felt an elder's pain (and death) as an apprentice, and she spends the whole book feeling other cat's pain and helping them out.

I enjoy the mostly because it made me think. I was initially dissapointed with the ending of the book- Yellowfang is thrown out of ShadowClan and the second she gets onto ThunderClan territory it was as if a switch was flipped; she went from a kind, nice, normal ShadowClan medicine cat to some batty elder in a heartbeat. It made me think- she had a lot of different character swaps throughout the book. What if her power also involved other people's emotions? What if she absorbed some of her son's manic psychopathic tendencies, and it showed itself in her erratic, weird, and very loaner-like personality after she left the Clan? It's just speculation, but why don't you think about it. Food for thought ^^

15. Who is your favorite character from warriors and why are they your favorite? Who is your least favorite?

I love Yellowfang, just in case you couldn't tell from the previous two paragraphs. I initially didn't like her character design- rough and slightly annoying and underdeveloped until she truly becomes a part of ThunderClan, and just when you start to love her and her sarcasm she just dies!- but then I read Yellowfang's Secret, and I absolutely adored it. Her backstory was awesome, she, a ShadowClan cat, had StarClan sent powers, and her character is very well done. I like that she does what needs to be done for the greater good without sacrificing other cats, and she always fixes things she's messed up. Like Squirrelflight, for those of you who read Bramblestar's Storm. Im not saying what (spoilers!)

I don't really have a least favorite. I enjoy each character for their interesting perspectives and certain things that they do that amuses me. I suppose I'm going to say Breezepelt because he can be really annoying for no real reason.

16. What would your warrior name be and why?

Well I said this all before, but I'm Blazestorm because I love those two roots. I think it flows. Also because I have a firey spirit that only blazes when I'm really enthusiastic or helping my friends, and I love storms. Fire and water are also my favorite elements (though I would be very satesfied with any element).

17. What inspired your fanfictions? What fandoms do you usually write for?

Everything and anything. I'm inspired from songs, my own life, other fics, movies, stereotypes, ect. I like taking anything and everything and turning it into a fanfiction. I love shipping my couples, I love romance and cliches, and I'll write anything that I take a fancy to. Any and every fandom that I've joined ha had me write a fic for it (in my head and on paper) I mainly write for Warriors, however.

18. How many people do you know in real life that read Warriors?

I actually know alot of people that read Warriors. My two sisters, these two guys and one girl that I was friends with who all read warriors together, and my most recently found friends, twin sisters, who love the series.

19. Why did you want to join WattyWarriors as an admin?

I originally found the page from both @CrazystarThunderClan and @Tigerheart's profiles. I read most of the books on the favorites list, and I finished the magazines in a day. I loved the dichotomy, loved the works and the people, and I had a longing to join. So, I did ^^

20. What are some other books you've read, (not from Wattpad)?

I'm just going to save time and space by posting my entire fandom list here.  I love Warriors, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, everything Avengers and the X-men, Teen Wolf, Once Upon a Time, Avatar, Avatar the Last Airbender, anything by Lois Lowry, Criminal Minds, My Little Pony, Merlin, Sherlock, Rise of the Guardians (the books too), any and all Youtubers, any and all major/popular series (Twilight and the Hunger Games included) ect....

Let' just say that I've read EVERYTHING and enjoy most everything I look at. ^^ Like I said, adaptable.

21. Tell us something special about yourself.

I'm a triplet. Yeah, those two sisters that I was talking about? We're fraternal triplets; that means we were created in three different eggs, and therefore look different. We're the same age, generally enjoy similar things (though recently we've branched off), and we all love the same sorts of stuff!

22. Are there any other websites that you frequent besides Wattpad? Tell us if you have an account there!

I got into this earlier, but I'll list them here. Youtube (does that count? I frequent it for my gamers), Fanfiction.net (the fics are great! I"m XxBlazestormxX on there) DeviantArt (I don't do any art but I've been following many amazing comics. Check them out ^^), Archive of our Own (like Wattpad and Fanfiction, but with more real life actor fics than fanfiction could ever give)............. yeah that's mostly it. Check them out, you'll never leave!

23. Is there anything you'd like to say to fans and readers? Any shout outs to specific people?

I just wanted to say thank you for being so devoted and patient while waiting for me to move and get something posted. I hope you've all noticed that I recently have picked up the pace, and I promise much more will be posted in the future. I have many things planned for you all

Special shout-out to my awesome friend @LeafpoolM who is just too amazing for words. She made my two new covers for my Warriors fics, and her books are awesome. Check her out! Thanks also to @TigerShadow24_SC for being awesome as well, and always sticking by my side (even to become an admin!!). Thanks @chromeflame, also. And pretty much everyone on my followed list because I love all of you. ^^
