Society says we are something different.
I like different.
Not everyone else does
So many despise different
They fight different
And even small differences
Sexuality is a small difference
Gender is a small difference
So many small differences
Looks too
Religion is a bit bigger, but still tiny
I have to fight for my differences
Nobody is free of this fight
In my fight I am different
Because I am not straight
I don't conform to gender roles
And I have to fight to be able to love
Who I am
How I act
What I do for others
It will be ignored

The second they know what makes me

Sometimes I won't have to

Because we aren't as different as I thought

Because we may be different
But we are still different to the "norms"
I have to fight to be different
I'm tired of fighting

Its a word society hates
And a word I love
I enjoy being different
It makes life more fun
