After-Watty Party Challenge

Citizens of Wattpad! Wattpadians! Friends! Welcome to an easy and fun Challenge by me!

So, here is how it runs.

I announce a new round and one genre for it, which I select from the list below. They are your primary genre; I expect romance to be a secondary genre pretty often and fantasy to weave through most things. Why fight it, when we can just accept it as a fact of Wattpad?

Fantasy Drama, Action and Adventure

Mystery, Detective, Thriller

Historical Drama, Action or Romance

Horror and non-romantic Paranormal

Contemporary Romance

Paromantasy Romance

General, Drama, Action and Adventure

Sci-Fi and Sci-fantasy

Wild Card (as necessary)

How to Enter

You leave a link to your book on the Round comments. Don't enter other people's books. Indicate approximately where 5K words occurs in your story. Approximately is the KEY word. "Chapter 3" is good enough.

Shoutout or tags, whatever feels more expedient, is encouraged but not required (though the faster the slots to fill, the faster the round runs toward the faster results, lol).

I also encourage you to check out other entries in your category for pure fun. Optional, but creates good vibes.

Round progression:

The main rule: All of your books are awesome, independent of ranking. But I'll rank all entries in relation to all other books in that round (and only that round). No universal scores. If you have a question about why I felt you were placed where you were, you can ask me.

You can submit up to 5 books into any round, but if more than one ranks for each Final (if we ever get this far!), I will ask you to only pick one. You are free to resubmit your books in another round, since genres are fluid and/or you might be interested in competing with different writers.

The tie-breaker for books of equal awesomeness is the book's curb appeal. If I was solving the tie, I'll mention it. If the tie can't be resolved, tied books receive the same position, and 3 books may advance into the Final.

Maximum entries are 12 per round. If 6 to 11 books are submitted, I will advance 1 into the final.

If 5 or less books are submitted, I will call a Wild Card round in the following week, open to all genres for remaining slots.

If nobody submits anything, I cry a little and write my own damn books.

Each round is open for entries for 10 days, from Monday to Thursday (dates will be specified in each round). I will post results on Sunday of that same week or following week.

Once I have 6 books that accepted entry into the Final, I'll run a Final. Number of books in the impacted Final will be determined separately, but in an ideal world, it's 6.

What do any of us get out of it?

Each entry of a completed round will receive a one liner pro and con in the published results of each round.

All finalists will get a shout-out and the add-on to my 'Read THIS, Thank Me Later' Reading List.

Stay tuned for Round 1 if you're interested. If you aren't, tell me what you want me to blog about.
