Copyrights Change

When posting the first chapter of a new story, Wattpad will ask you to add a title, some tags, the usual BUT now will require you to "Acknowledge this is my own original work, or I have the permission from the original author to post this work. Copyright infringement may result in story deletion or account closure." Which was not necessary before. This is also upsetting given that it also pops up if your book is a fan fiction, come on it's more than a little hard to ask the author of Harry Potter if you can write a story that takes place in the same world. Chances are for many stories on wattpad that are under the Fanfiction section that they don't have permission from the author.
Wattpad are you honestly asking users to email or message the writer of a book to ask if they can write about character A and B having a romance. Cause that's what most fan fictions on wattpad are, don't even lie. People aren't going to message the author and ask if they can make the characters to really wack shit.

80 million readers and writers. Let's just assume only 6.25% write fan fictions, just as a example, this is not real data. With this example there would be 5 million people now having to message a author if they can write a fan story. Some of these people are teens cause you can join wattpad when you turn 13, so do you really think a famous author would give a dam about a bunch of kids asking for permission? And do you think a 14 year old is going to give a shit about emailing the author?

If we already have books posted, do they automatically accept this rule now? If so wtf, this was done without our permission. And if the contents of the book are like this one where I post about wattpad on wattpad, there is no "original author" for wattpad, and this isn't completely original because it does contain stuff about wattpad. What the hell do you want me to say?

I used to have this book under "unspecified" for the copyright because I'm not a lawyer or something that knows what all the other crap means or what the book should be labeled as copyright wise. But wattpad got rid of that apparently, so now it automatically put this book under "Attrib. NonComm. ShareAlike" without telling me.

I don't know what to do or really even what to say.
What are users supposed to do if the book doesn't classify as any of these copyrights? Or if a user draws art, and some of it is fan art, what should the book be labeled as? It is their art. They put work and time into making it. But it is of a character they don't have rights to.

I don't know enough about copyrights or legal stuff to know what users should do if they have fan art or if they are hosting a book collaboration account. Having Unspecified as a option under copyright was much better than whatever this is now. Do you really expect any age users to know what to put their book under in cases like this? Most full grown adults don't even know all the different kinds of copyrights, and wattpad expects all their users to just know what their book should classify as?

If anyone knows what kind of copyright should be on Fan made books or books like the one you're reading now I think we would all like to know. So please tell us all in the comments what the fuck kind of legal copyright would actually be best for fan fictions or art books with fan art in them.
